The Albert Arms public house & restaurant was lovely. The food in The Albert Arms was very good. The staff in The Albert Arms were great. A large contrast between the hotel & the restaurant.
The hotel (The Albert Mews) is an entirely separate building (converted house) to the grand looking The Albert Arms although the photo on Booking.com is of the Pub / restaurant which is misleading. Had we seen The Mews on the website we would have never have booked. The hotel is rated as four star but in our opinion only the restaurant warrants this rating. The rooms in the hotel are very small & poky, the TV did not work. Our opinion is that hotel only warrants 2 star rating. We stayed at a 3 star & a 4 star hotel over following 2 nights & both of these blew 'The Mews' out of the water yet were only slightly more expensive. Bookings.com categorises hotel with parking when in fact it is small pay & display which only had one space in when we arrived. Very disappointed.
Breakfast was lovely
Away from the main building - not good as a solo traveller Was on the ground floor on the path down an alley way - sash window wouldn't closed, a member of staff came over and closed FROM THE ROAD- security a major issue. Worst nights sleep ever. Wasn't clear on parking space available
On arrival the staff were friendly and although the bedroom was small the bed was comfortable
No hot water for two days with no explanation except from a fellow guest as we were leaving. The breakfast was very disappointing. Crunchy nut cornflakes was the only cereal on offer and not one piece of fruit available. Surly waiter on Sunday morning.
Nice friendly staff . Handy for the race course.
Location was good breakfast was good Staff Good
Room was to hot Shower needed a good clean
Near all pubs and restaurants. Friendly, helpful staff. Luckily we were able to park on small car park next to accommodation. Room clean and bed comfy. Nice breakfast.
Bed was comfy. Quiet location so was able to sleep with window open although wouldn't have wanted to if the room had been on ground floor.
The carpets could do with a good shampoo and although the bathroom was superficially clean, the shower cubicle could go with a really deep steam clean
The perfect location for sandown race course .
How warm it was in the room.didnt open the windows when asleep because we were on the ground floor and was unable to turn down radiators.
Location was convenient to my business.
Room were squashed, room phone not working for services. There was no hot water for the 2days of my stay. Staff on Saturday morning swearing in front of customers. Food serving very slow.
Staff were great and breakfast was superb
Room was very nicely decorated and had everything required for a nights stay. Hotel opposite was good and location to Sandown Racecourse was excellent. Food in bar was great.
Rooms were far too hot and stuffy and it was impossible to sleep even though fans were used. Guests on ground floor were nervous to open windows but even it open there was no air flow. Recommend that AC is installed. Parking was quite difficult initially as we had to wait for someone to leave the car park.
central location with Sandown just a stroll down the road. The staff were welcoming and the bar staff later in the evening were professional and efficient. Excellent breakfast in the morning.
the bedroom could with some diy, for example, the shower inner door handle was missing and had a screw in its place. the bathroom shelf and door hooks were hanging onto the wall by a whisper and the TV was all askew. just little things but attention to detail matters.
Location, individuality, atmosphere, comfortable bed, private, personal service, parking close by.
Attic room quite cramped for man of six foot two! No porridge for breakfast!
The bed was very comfortable, and the room was clean, v good location just off the main high street.
Very very noisy from the room above... no sound proofing whatsoever
The pub itself and the food were great.
The mews room was very small and okay but the ventilation was awful. With a fan on and the window wide open we could not get the temperature below 28DegC all night. There is no through ventilation, so potentially for most of summer it will be similar.
Location being in the town center. Clean rooms generally well equipped but mine for some reason lacked tea and coffee making facilities. Comfy bed. Cooked breakfast
The Albert is on the centre clean accommodation a good breakfast and polite staff.
Lack of parking.
Room was too hot and with windows open there was much noise from the pub nearby.
Excellent location Excellent staff member Anna. Albert Mews pub lovely with good breakfast.
Room was very small and dirty with window that didn't shut properly. Did not want to take my shoes off and walk on carpet which was filthy. Water marks down bathroom walls where there is no proper ventilationNo air conditioning.....room extremely hot! When booking you are shown a picture of Albert Mews pub which I have to say is lovely and not where you stay which is a converted house. I would absolutely not recommend accommodation.
Location excellent Facilities in room good Minibar great and comfy bed
Need to take a look at finishing. Decoration in bathroom - needs a lick of paint. Blind in bedroom broken Wiring in bedroom a bit scary hole in wall with cables coming out TV at a jaunty angle Room way too hot and fan didn't help as no air in through window due to blind failure.
Accommodation is in a house up the road.
Good tasty breakfast.
Room only just big enough for the double bed. The carpet need a thorough cleaning. Window Blind broken. Ironing Board on Stairs out side the Room = Safety hazard. Clock not working due to dead batteries which had leaked. No mirror in Bedroom so that hair dryer could not be used. Shower door handle missing. All signs of poor attention to service standards
The breakfast was excellent especially the coffee.
The server at breakfast was very morose although the service was very good.
Friendly staff, excellent breakfast and free wifi
Rooms are too hot - no air con. Walls are way too thin therefore you can hear everything. Needs some TLC.
Everyone was very helpful on arrival & we were allowed to use a room to get changed in.
The room was very very hot.
