Excellent and friendly staff.
-Room was warm -Bed was comfortable -Location was good
No kitchen so no food. Had to go somewhere else for evening meal. I think breakfast was cooked on a camping stove or compact grill. Only one side light in bed room Beer was rotten. Lines needed cleaning or the beer was out of date. I should know I am a publican. Coffee at breakfast was self service room sachets - horrible. Toast also self service. No service other than breakfast being cooked. Every thing was expensive for poor quality. Would not stay again.
A village hotel not a city hotel chain. It's not your 5-star glitz, it's very clean & comfortable with true local friendliness & service. Great breakfasts. Take time to look around the village and read the plaques and notice boards that give the history of this interesting place.
Dinner is typical of all pub food in UK. Where are the green vegetables???
As the purpose of our of visit was to see the Forth Bridge, the view from our room was ideal. Good location for other attractions. Food was excellent, nothing to much trouble. Friendly staff.
This was a wonderful stay in a most unique location..The staff were very helpful and friendly. Our dogs were made to feel wanted and welcome and the waterfront was perfect for a relaxing walk.We ate in the Hotel and the food was plentiful, well cooked and very good value. The excellent breakfast set us up for the day....perfect with a long drive ahead of us..Thanks for a very pleasant stay and we will be returning...
That we could only stay one night!! See you soon hopefully.....
The staff were excellent. We needed 2 glasses of milk every night for our little ones. They provided it without any fuss. All staff were very friendly.
The pub food was available only until 8pm which was a bit of a pain. The radiator made a annoying noise which made me wake up at night.
Everything , great welcome had intended to go out for the night but hotel staff and surrounding were just what we were looking for , room was lovely and clean food brill and great prices , everything was very relaxed and we were made to feel so welcome lovely place will def be back , thanks guys just what the doctor ordered !! annette and tom johnstone, ps a very big thankyou to heather the cleaner for finding and handing in my husbands bum bag he left it in the room and she phoned us on the way home to tell us , so very grateful thankyou x
Convenient for wedding that we were going to, hotel for that was just up the road from The Albert! Fantastic location, room was clean and bed was comfy and we slept like logs! It fulfilled a lifelong dream that I've had ,that I could go to sleep close to water( river Forth) hear the wind & rain outside, water crashing against the shore and a lovely big bridge (Forth Rail Bridge) added in to help my dream come true! Can't thank you enough for that, that's one off my bucket list!! Breakfast was superb, fully cooked Scottish fare, can't beat that! Staff in hotel were lovely , great place the Albert Hotel, full marks from us !
Nothing really , all good
I only booked into the Albert for the view of the Firth of Forth Railway bridge. Unfortunately I couldn't see it well from my room but there were still excellent views of it from the hotel and simply by walking outside! My room was in the attic and was finished well, being quite a recent refurb by the looks.
A common issue with many places - lack of parking. The long haul up the stairs which seemed to tilt you back as you neared the landing. No "proper" mirror in the bathroom.
Warm welcome and very picturesc scenery definitely go back.
You get the real unadulterated feel of Scotland! Excellent hospitality from staff.
Beds could do with some improvement to the mattress.

The hotel is not well maintained. This was our second visit and we noticed that the state of the hotel and breakfast quality had gone down.
Friendliness of the Staff.
Failure to recognize I had a reservation for 3 rooms, not one.
Nice room with great views of the rail bridge, very comfortable. Awesome breakfast. Excellent hotel to break the long journey up to Scotland.
The location is terrific for Bridge lovers. The rooms are recently updated to a reasonable standard. Most of the staff were pleasant. Scrambled eggs were delicious. This place should be a stunning goldmine but needs taken in hand with stronger staff training and motivation.
The staff don't really seem to be up on hotel expectations. Not their fault. The bar and dining room were poorly run. The quality of breakfast ingredients and service did not reflect the price. The food menu was uninspired.
Great location for 2 day trip to Ryder Cup & amazing value in comparison to other hotels/b&b's. Lovely cosy, clean & comfortable room with view of forth rail bridge. wasn't expecting much with the price we were paying but really happy with our choice. Didn't have breakfast so can't comment on that.
Only downside was the shower.... Not very powerful unfortunately. Possibly the bar can be a bit intimidating with atmosphere.
I love the view of the Bridge behind the hotel. All of the food we ate from the full Scottish breakfast to anything off the bar menu was delicious with large portions. All of the staff were friendly and helpful.
If you're a light sleeper, the noise from the trains going over the bridge might disturb you.
Large bed, good shower, cleanliness, great Scottish breakfast and an excellent view of course.
We stayed for 3 nights. The staff couldn't have been more helpful and were very friendly. Our room was fantastic, really big. Bed was huge and comfortable. We had breakfast and an evening meal in the hotel and it was lovely.
Location made it easy to access the city via the train and to get away from the city via car
The bar area and downstairs washrooms were quite dowdy and gave a poor first impression. The sleeping rooms were much better and were well kept.
Lovely old building, Stunning location. Clean, comfortable, only a few miles from airport. Friendly staff.
Breakfast needs to start earlier to allow for travel plans/flights.
Staff was excellent. Michael, the manage,r even took us to the airport! (We did give him a payment though not as much as a cab fare). It's a quaint but very comfortable hotel. Meal was great. Atmosphere and lovely setting on the water.
We were on the top floor so it was a long hike up with our suitcases. But the staff did help us!
I liked the size of the room & the cleanliness. Bed was huge. Breakfast was great.
When I booked our room it stated it had stunning views of both bridges which was the main reason we booked there. On arrival however when shown to our room the only view we had was of the viaduct of the rail bridge, hardly stunning & no view of road bridge at all so a bit dissapointed that we were misled. Asked for a different room but hotel was full. They should be more honest considering room wasn't exactly cheap & we thought we were paying for the views but sadly not. Won't go back for this reason.
