The family was friendly and made us feel at home. They shared some history about their family which was interesting. A must visit.
Everything.the stay was superb from start to finish the owners and staff were superb and we couldn,t have wished for a nicer stay.
Staff, Cleanliness, quite room.
Previous "Boutique" hotels we have been to have been very modern and definitely had a "Boutique" look. The Alexandra Court is a nice hotel but we were a little disappointed it wasn't what we were expecting. If you are not expecting traditional Boutique style and prefer a more homely hotel then the Alexandra Court is a good choice.
Upon arrival we were greeted by the owner, it was like being welcomed by family. We were the only guests, so that made it all the more personal. They even did our breakfast earlier as my husband had to leave early. The hotel used to be a vicarage so it has bags of character, tastefully decorated rooms , a beautiful garden and lots of quirky corridors. A gem!
Onsite car park. Spacious room. Friendly staff. Lovely peaceful garden for relaxing.
Rather squashed in at breakfast as it was busy.
What a perfect hotel to spend our first night as Mr and Mrs. Staff had beautifully decorated the bed in our superb room. Breakfast the following day was delicious too.
That we had only booked to stay one night :-(
Family run hotel with helpful staff
The specific room with window onto patio used by patrons Lack of choice at breakfast
Good sized bedroom.
Not told about front door locked. Kept knocking no answer had to go around the back to get in!
Beautifully decorated, friendly welcome, if a little eccentric.
The hotel is in a very good location for a lot of attractions and for a walk from the hotel the Mere a wildlife park is only about 1 Km away. the proprietors were very helpful in looking after some plants that we brought at Tatton Park flower show. the rooms were clean and in good decorative order.
Turning right out of the Hotel was awkward as you could not clearly see traffic coming from your leftwithout edging out into the road coming from your right
Well decorated and furnished pleasant garden.
On the Saturday and Sunday we waited 40 minutes for our cooked breakfast - it says cooked to order but as we wanted to leave early we arrived as they opened 8.30. I know the hotel was full but they need to open earlier, more staff and more gas rings so to avoid long wait. Coffee percolator ran out so had to leave without another one due to time taken for breakfast - staff should have put new one on to perk before old one had finished. Our room was rather dark.
breakfast served outdoors in the garden
bathroom mirror positioned over toilet so difficult to use.
The staff were friendly, the breakfast was good, the grounds are lovely.
Noise--we could hear the voices of the people in the room next to us, and the noise when they used their bathroom taps/shower was very loud. Also, other guests were very loud in the back garden outside our room until after 2 am the first night we stayed. We phoned the front desk but had to leave a voicemail with no response, then eventually went out ourselves to ask them to be quiet to no effect. The staff apologised the next day, but that really doesn't make up for the aggravation and losing a night's sleep. We tried to connect to the wi-fi several times but couldn't. Due to the timing we didn't have opportunity to contact reception on this issue.
Easy to find. Pleasant staff
Bathroom very small with a very tiny shower. Disappointed in the portion size of full English breakfast considering it is an extra £10 I don't think it was value for money at all. Normally places give you more than one sausage one slice of bacon one tomato etc.
Attention to detail, I'd asked for a special request which was fulfilled by the hotel with the minimum of fuss and exceeded my expectations.
The breakfast could have been more substantial and their were children in the restaurant helping the staff on the Sunday morning. The bathroom bin had not been emptied before we checked in.
the decor is outstanding, very comfortable and quiet,Mrs Slinger the owner was an excellent host, the library/camera museum is very interesting and worth a visit, breakfast was substantial and staff very attentive
exiting onto the road during rush hour can be a bit daunting
The staff were massively helpful, welcoming and friendly. Lovely building with smashing garden area where you could take breakfast (I didn't, but many did).
Tiny point is that the driveway isn't easy to see and it's a busy road so I drove past it first time, and then it wasn't the easiest driveway to get out of in the morning - very small point though, everything else is excellent
staff were extremely pleasant and helpful
Room was a bit on the warm side. No reflection on the hotel. The night that we stayed was quite warm and humid
I was upgraded to a double room facing onto rear gardens, thence being away from the noisy road at the front. Cosy facilities, comfortable bed and excellent breakfast.
Shower cubicle very small.
Nice setting, comfortable clean rooms. Staff very helpful - we arrived to check in on the last minute to get to a wedding reception - staff organised taxis for us. Congleton people are very friendly!
nothing to complain about
We like the fact that Alexandra is a family business and everyone involved is on the same wave length , trying to make guests feel at home.
Very helpful staff. Nice hotel, very comfortable.
They don't serve lunch/dinner. Could be a little cheaper
Very friendly welcoming staff
A lovely building, enjoyed breakfast and the garden with tables and chairs was excellent, it was a very good experience.
If I was to suggest anything it would be some extra milk in the room.
