We loved our stay at The Alma Hotel! The rooms were very nice, the restaurant was great, and the area was very quaint. Next time we come to London, we'll stay here again.
I've drank and eaten at the alma a lot over the years, but recently have moved away from the area and decided to try their rooms out. I was really impressed and I'll definitely be back.
We thought the room was a good size, with all the facilities you would expect in a hotel of this standard. Lovely coffee in the room. Good quality food in the restaurant with excellent service. Really good breakfast in the morning with friendly staff. Good boozer as well.
Just a minor gripe about the price of an item of food in the restaurant. £7.25 for a slice of Cheesecake, that was, to put it mildly, tiny! Basically, about £1.50 a spoonful. Otherwise, all positive.
Food was good and cleanliness of room
Wifi was sporadic
Just over the road from Wandsworth Town railway station for very easy commute to London tourist attractions. No noise from trains or the Victorian character pub below. Very clean; well-serviced; excellent breakfast; and a short stroll to supermarket and other eateries. We absolutely loved our stay here.
Had problems connecting i-pad to wi-fi the first day. Was sorted by providing a Youngs backup connection which worked well, but signal was only consistent when sitting at the desk in our room (dropped out when sitting on bed)
Comfortable room and convenient for railway station. Excellent breakfast.
i love this hotel. everything is suitable for me. room size, dining style, joyful pub. very quiet, clean. Wish I could use washing machine cause I stayed several days and I like to wash clothes by myself. a bit far from the centre of London, but nice to be in front of railway station. there are some cozy cafés around this hotel, too.
Breakfast! And that the staff all seemed to really enjoy going to work at The Alma!
Our fault - returned just too late to catch dinner...
Wonderful location! Train and bus available just across the road. Lovely area for walking… Many restaurants to choose from. (Alma and Gun Powder Diplomacy were favorites.) Friendly, helpful staff. (Beatrice is a delight!) The pub downstairs was a fun place to relax at the end of our busy, sight-seeing days.
We had some trouble with the WiFi connection. We were on the third floor and the connection was sporadic. Reliable connection downstairs, though.
Friendly, helpful staff. Not pretentious. Useful for disabled husband. Well equipped. Lovely breakfasts. Good location for us. Very comfortable.
It would be useful to have a mini ramp near the reception entrance. It's possible, but quite a sharp drop at present. It could be moveable.
Good location, just opposite a SouthWest train station - 2-3 stops to Waterloo in the heart of London. Cute street with terrific cafes and restaurants, supermarket, dry cleaners etc. Delicious breakfasts, huge (and I mean huge) rooms for London standards. Pub downstairs was Victorian chic.
Wifi was temperamental, had to log in every 30 minutes or so. Overhead chef complain (loudly and on-going) when I'd asked for my poached eggs to be well done ... not professional and I felt awkward and embarrassed that I'd asked for such a simple thing as my eggs cooked for an extra 60 seconds.
It was easy to take the bus from just outside the hotel to Hammersmith Bus station, and then get the tube to Heathrow. It was also only 2 stops on the mainline to Waterloo, so very convenient for central London without the high prices. The area was really nice, with good restaurants and a shops just down the road.

Door stop in bedroom, stubb toe on it.
Everything about this hotel is great, especially the cost given the location. The staff were also exceptional. Yes, you have to tube it to most interesting locations, but that is offset by the savings and the proximity of the train.
Clean, comfortable room. Big bed with beautiful linen, premium tea and coffee (nespresso pod machine). A la carte breakfast menu, wide selection of excellent food.
Really couldn't find fault with this hotel.
Tea and coffee making facilities. Wet room. Breakfast.
Everything, the helpful staff, the great breakfast, the large room and bathroom, fantastic wifi and only 4 stops on the train to Waterloo. We could not fault the place.
Lack of reaction from manager when pointed out the padlock on our case had been tampered with whilst we were out.
comfortable room with really good bathroom friendly helpful staff easy trip to Wimbledon
temporary scaffolding outside the room - will go soon, everything else was great
Fab food great location super attentive staff.
My only criticism of this super hotel was that the pillows were a bit hard. This is of course personal preference!
Hotel directly opposite Wandsworth town railway station. Easy access for clapham common. Good real ales in bar.
Great room, great location, great breakfast
All staff were very friendly, and extremely helpful, particularly with local transport information. Excellent food in the hotel restaurant
We were in London for Wimbledon and it was a great location to stay. Food excellent both breakfast and dinner. Would certainly stay there again.
