Ali - nice guy, very friendly
Food was excellent in restaurant.
No Breakfast and when leaving at 0720 no one around. WiFi was terrible and despite stating that Free Wifi in all locations on Hotel information this was not the case and could only access in the reception area. Room was basic. It stated that the room had a side table/desk not sure where this could have fitted in the single room I stayed in as the bedside table also was the kettle facilities and to access had to lean over the bed.
Free parking, nice and friendly staff. Clean n comfortable. Thankyou for the free drinks. Thankyou very much.
The price. Will stay again if we have a refund.from this stay!!!!
The loud music from the bar at 1 am in the morning
Room was clean and spacious Restaurant food was great and well priced Room price was excellent value Location was relatively picturesque and walking around nearby was nice
Shower was a bath with a hose affair, and was tricky to use Doors were thin, so arguing people in the building woke us up
The indian restaurant was very good quality and excellent service
Car parking - not the easiest car park Bed was comfortable TV was small and restricted channels Tea and coffee and some bathroom supplies
Bathroom was only just bearable, shower had to be held as bracket no good Only one pillow each Booked for 2 nights and no room service - no one entered to make the bed Something was wrong with either the water quality in the kettle, or the uht milk portions - of which there were only 3 for 2 days for 2 people.
Price, room size, position, restaurant facility very good (Indian)
Showers not all functional, WiFi weak in rooms but OK in lobby.
The staff were very friendly and helpfull the food was the best I've had in a hotel highly recommended thanks
The price, car parking good and the mountain view from the bedroom window.
Lot of road noise, the wooden floor downstairs and our bathroom floor was sticky.
Very nice restuarant
noise from guests and staff late at night, early hours of the morning.
Staff very helpful. Food is good.
Very uncomfortably beds, telly did not work, Wi fi kept on going off, found old news papers in draws from may , bathroom floor and all the bedroom furniture were all sticky.
Quality , choice, value for money, Portion size , service, view from Unique restaurant were all Excellent....... Authentic Indian Cuisine , served with style. It was also nice to see fresh flowers and well groomed staff.
Unfortunately the public treat their garden and entrance badly and Leave their cigarette ends etc In and around entrance......this could put people going in....... and this could loose them business..... This aspect should be improved
For a last minute booking for a family room it was unbelievable value! My son wangled free tea n biscuits in the morning. Extra pillows on request. Clean bedroom. Nicely presented rooms.
When booked it asked for an eta. When we arrived no one was around to greet us at had to wait 40mins in reception before there was sign of life. 2 tills were left un occupied during that time which was shocking! Ensuit.. perhaps not as clean as my personal taste would like. Ie, pubic hair in the bath. Slightly mouldy around the bath on the silicone and an old shower. However the toilet was spot on though so I could forgive. All in all I loved the stay and for a family room costing 50 quid. We were delighted! Also wifi was not working properly... again it was the weekend of the remnants of hurrican bertha. Thunderstorms n lighting in the valleys hardly surprising. Would definitely stay again
Staff couldn't do enough to help and the Indian restaurant was the best we have been to Can't recommend the ambala enough
Wifi not available
The restaurant is very god with an excellent menu. the staff are very polite, attentive and courteous.
The rooms are a bit 'tired' and the function room was very loud until 4 in the morning! so a good nights sleep was an issue.
The staff were very nice. The bed was comfortable.
There were other peoples hairs all over the carpet and in the bathroom. Maybe they missed that part of the house keeping out.
Restaurant very good. Liked the old fashionedness of the hotel. Inexpensive
Room wasn't serviced over the three days, wifi signal was mostly too weak to work, various things broken in the room - lightbulbs missing. Hard to find staff on reception to help. Very noisy. Shabby.
Low price Comfy bed
Mountain View through the steps of a fire escape. Curtains did not cover the bottom foot of the window. Window covered with a thick coloured net Desk, but no chair! Blind in Bathroom broken Shaver light didn't work.
Nick the bartendender makes a fine burnt orange Cosmopolitan and the lemon curry is delicious.
Makes Fawkty Towers look 5 Star ! The kettle for tea was on the floor at the foot of the bed. The shower had barely any waster and was operated by a power cord. An overwhelming disinfectant smell wafted into my room during the evening cleanup which I could hear quite clearly below me. All my luggage reeked of it when I got home. Next morning a young man tore himself away from checking his phone to let me know the hotel was closed and he knew nothing about the continental breakfast I was told would be served. Nick the bartendender makes a fine burnt orange Cosmopolitan and the lemon curry is delicious. Otherwise very Faty Towers.
Everything. There is nothing to like about this place. Wifi doesn't work. Mobile phone network doesn't work (not their fault) TV's in room has no reception. Unclean, smells. Would rather have slept in my car in a lay-by. Avoid at all cost.
Staff were helpful in trying to rectify problem. I ended up with a better spec room for the original cheaper price. Food was excellent.
When I arrived I was told that the room that I'd booked was no longer available. The reason was that the guy had booked, then cancelled, then turned up at the hotel with the original reservation. The hotel told me that booking.com had not informed them about the cancellation, so they gave him the room and were not prepared to try and move him. No breakfast is available. In the morning the rest of the hotel is locked and there is no-one about.
Excellent restaurant. We arrived after 2200hrs. No problem to get a meal .
Very difficult to find. Not where Tom Tom takes you
We were travelling to a festival nearby and the Ambala was the closest hotel. The only other saving grace was the bar,run by a lovely young couple who had just taken it over and were operating it separately from the main hotel.
The staff were lackadaisical and mostly couldn't speak English. On both mornings of our stay, there were no staff in the hotel, apart from cleaner. We arrived with another couple, whose reservation had been "lost" and the staff did not seem overly keen to help them until we mentioned we were journalists! The room had not been cleaned properly - the carpet had not been hovered, there was rubbish in the bin and the bath was dirty - and the mattress was hard. Most importantly, given the remoteness of its location, there was no breakfast offered or available. And we were charged £30 more than on our booking!
The hotel was cheap and seen a decent one apart from been near the area we want it
The hotel call in the last minute telling us that it got water leak problems and if i didn't tell them, they wouln't provide any substitution. Even so, they didnt handle well the situation.
