Great location, Quiet, clean, great room service.
Had to hunt for the mini bar/refrigerator in the standard room. Small closet, but everything you needed was there.
Very polite, helpful, accommodating staff. Well decorated rooms, luxurious bed linen, lovely bathroom. Complimentary mini-bar, which was well stocked with soft drinks and fresh milk. Decent wi-fi
The beautiful decor The helpful staff and concierge Stunning breakfast buffet with quality food and great coffee The location - super close to South Kensington tube station The tea lounge
What's not too like!
-Location was excellent, close to shops and the tube station. -Surrounded by beautiful buildings. -Walking distance to museums and excellent shops. -Lovely friendly helpful staff -Fantastic sized room and bathroom. -Free secure Wi-Fi with easy access -Very clean and freshly decorated -Delicious breakfasts and good value by London standards. -Turn right outside the hotel and there are loads of restaurants down the streets that run off this road. I think I counted seven in a small area. I will definitely recommend to friends and family and can't wait to return on my next trip.
Only the the food in the restruant
the hotel is beautiful and very close to the metro station. also the showers are very clean and nice with heated floor. there was a very good restaurant for breakfast/ lunch by the metro station close to the hotel.we had an amazing time in london!
The style of the hotel is wonderful; modern, clean, very appealing. The staff was superb, very helpful and friendly. The amenities in the room were excellent; loved the free beverages in the fridge and coffee and tea. Bathroom very functional with shelf space instead of a counter. Lovely shower, and great bath products. Bed was very comfortable. No noise whatsoever at night, a huge plus! Lots of restaurants and pubs in the neighborhood, and very close to the SoKen Underground station.
The room was smaller than I would have liked - if someone were sitting at the desk, you couldn't get around from one side of the bed to the other. Not a deal breaker for me, but you'd expect a few more inches for the price! It's not an inexpensive hotel to say the least, but of course, London isn't a cheap destination. For a special occasion, staying at the Ampersand was worth it.
The hotel was beautiful, the location was perfect and the staff were so friendly and helpful. We didn't want to leave!
The double bed was a bit small for us but we are both very tall.
The hotel's name The Ampersand caught my eye on Booking.com. The photos looked promising and it was a good value (on special that day). Then the hotel rocked from the location to the service to all of the amenities. Didi who helped us in the tea room and at breakfast went above and beyond. The check in was smooth and the IT guy came when we couldn't figure out the wifi (not difficult afterall). The sleep was super comfortable. Everything just as you would like. And the decor is beautiful. After a month on the road it was a delightful surprise to save the best for last.
We stumbled on the wifi at first because when we turned on the television it didn't start at the welcome "page". Small, small problem that was overcome with immediate help.
Staff is very welcoming and attentive. Loved the design of the entire hotel, including the rooms. The restaurant downstairs has a great breakfast buffet and menu. Afternoon tea was lovely with wonderful food. The location is great, near an underground station and within walking distance to some great sights in Kensington.
Price is pretty hefty, but I guess you get what you pay for.
Staff went out of their way to be helpful especially Indira. Location was superb with taxi rank out front and Tube across the road.
Our superior room was very small and the bathroom so small that 2 people could not get in at the same time. We upgraded to abigger room but it was expensive and we expected more for a superior room
Excellent location. Two minutes from tube. Staff very friendly & welcoming. Room small but beautifully decorated as was the rest of the hotel. Will recommend and stay again. Emails from the hotel prior to arrival, nice touch. Fantastic hotel!
Nice and simple restaurant meant no need to leave the hotel
First room offered was rather small but second one excellent
Staff were really welcoming. Facilities were great. Loved the decor - and the cakes!!
Slightly disappointed didn't get the twin beds requested when booking online (trip away with my daughter) - but room so lovely made up for it.
This is everything that a hotel should be. Absolutely wonderful staff, comfortable rooms, working wi-fi, safe area, pretty decor, great location, and very close access to the tube!! All around super stay!! My 11 year old daughter found the fridge to be a very nice touch. We wish all hotels could learn from the Ampersand Hotel! They have the art of service down to a science.
Only negative thing was having to pay for one night's stay when we were delayed due to flight in the U.S. and not able to arrive to stay for the first night. Wish that the hotel had been able to waive the late cancellation policy in light of the circumstances. Due to popularity of the hotel and the likely ability to have rented the room to someone else for one night and that we gave immediate notice of the delay via email from the U.S., that one night's charge was disappointing.
Staff was very attentive and service oriented. Hotel decor is beautiful. Beds and furnishings are very comfortable. Location is on a quiet street yet is close to public transportation.
Rooms are small but that was expected. It was exactly what we wanted but some travelers may feel they need more space.
Very friendly but totally professional hotel and a great location to reach anywhere.
As a shopaholic, the Ampersand's contemporary London design is just great for the style conscious crowd. Just 1 minute from the South Kensington tube station is super convinience when you have to carry tons of shopping bags. All staffs I met were friendly, smiley and helpful. I m not interested in spa and pools as my trip is mainly for shopping, so I have not much comment on such facilities. I didn't have breakfast at the hotel, but I discovered the Muriel's Kitchen, which serves and it's just opposite to the hotel, and when you have more time must visit the world famous V&A fashion museum just a block away.
No complimentary bottled water
Staff, Room, Upgrade to deluxe studio, lovely room, fantastic bathroom, very nice bar
The food in the restaurant downstairs (dinner). Confused and confusing "sharing" menu with long waits between certain dishes. then the food was just quite good.
Very friendly staff. Lovely rooms. Wonderful bed. Good bathroom. Very good location. Fab cooked breakfast
Would have been nice to have had shower and bath.
Beautifully chic, boutique hotel, ideally located in South Kensington
The air conditioning wasn't particularly effective. The stifling London summer saw a balmy 28 degrees outside; even setting the aircon to 14 and closing the curtains in the room left the room still feeling warm. Perhaps the summer sun was just too much for it.
Everything. Ambiance and decor are fantastic. Staff and service are excellent. A very uplifting place to stay
Cleanliness, great service, perfect location.
Very friendly and helpful staff Great afternoon tea
