Rooms, food, parking, central location to small town and surrounding area.
the staff were lovely very helpful we loved the room and the bed was very comfortable the food was perfect
our bathroom was very small but it was worth it for everything else being so good
We stopped here before the half ironman at Whitchurch so needed a decent night's sleep. We got this due to a huge bed with a quality mattress. Good quality fixtures/fittings in the room too.
The Wi Fi was brand new (that day we were told) but didn't work. I'm sure that's a teething problem that will be quickly ironed out. Overall, recommended
Recently refurbished and all very clean and new friendly and helpful
Wifi did not appear to work in the room. It did work downstairs once told which one to use.
Recently refurbished Comfortable, big room Very friendly and helpful staff
Check out at 10am
Lovely pub with super rooms. Very well presented with good quality furnishings. Staff are genuinely helpful and the food is delicious.
Nothing to dislike.
Stayed for a wedding nearby. Great service, the owners went out of their way to help us. Very comfortable. Great breakfast too!
Fantastic room. Friendly and helpful staff. Convenient location in centre of Whitchurch. Great food. Much better than expected and more than 'a pub with rooms'.
Lovely, modern rooms. Comfortable beds. Friendly staff - nothing was too much trouble. Delicious food.
The room was too hot but we hadn't noticed the fan which was put to good use on our second night.
The rooms, were excellent - furniture was solid and contemporary. Bed very comfortable. Shower excellent. Toiletries provided and several lovely extra touches. Dinner was of a high standard and breakfast was great too. Would recommend this place woleheartedly!
Couldn't get the wi-fi to work
The hotel had atmosphere. Lovely food for the evening meal and breakfast. The rooms are modern and to a very high standard. The staff and owners are very friendly and welcoming. We would defiantly use this hotel again, loved it.
Room, staff, location all excellent. Highly recommend and would definitely stay here again!!
Located in town centre area.
No car park of its own, had to either pay & display or park in disused car park around the corner.
Fantastic room & ensuite. Beds very comfy, all very clean.
Not enough meal choice on the evening menu - Had ran out of steak.
Lovely rooms, food & drink.
Wi-fi not working in room, but the inn had a temporary problem with it.
Great Facilities. Great location in centre of town. Close parking opposite. Good food and service. Rooms excellent. Friendly staff. Quiet location also.
Due to extremely hot weather the rooms need a fan for cooling as very hot at night for sleeping. This was mentioned to the lady landlord who welcomed the suggestion.
Great value for money. Modern, well appointed rooms.
Large bed (my husband is 6'4") Good quality bedding Modern decor Good restaurant Friendly staff
Room was very hot (admittedly it was very hot weather!) and it was hard to cool it down even with room door propped open and window open.
Brand new refurbished rooms and entrances with oak furniture, location and friendly staff.
Overall it was excellent, the only thing wrong which was no fault of the hotel really was our stay happened to coincide with the hottest night of the year and the room was insufferably hot with no way to cool the room and the window would only open 3 inches. I had to try and sleep with a wet towel over me, my wife just suffered. But probably any other ordinary night of the year everything would be ok.
Room was newly furnished with good quality oak furniture. Good choice of well kept real ale and cider.
Shower room poorly fitted with tiny wash hand basin, no where to put personal belongings and macerator fitted to toilet that was very noisy. The food was a bit disappointing, my steak, mushroom and ale pie although made with good quality steak had no gravy in it and was microwaved warm with packet gravy pored over, the veg also microwaved warm was not fresh. Very much a locals bar.
Lovely clean rooms. Staff very friendly. Great breakfast. Fantastic cider!
Not much to be honest. Can't really find any faults.
I thought the change in atmosphere from traditional pub to guest house once you were through the door to the rooms was excellent. .
No private car park. No shelf for shaving brush etc whilst using the bathroom. No coat hook on the bathroom door for bathrobe etc. Otherwise full marks
The room. the setting within the town
some of the staff were grumpy - the assistant manger in the morning was pleasant but the lad serving the breakfast was abrupt and un engaging - the lady who meet me in the evening was again abrupt and very unfriendly
