Staff were friendly and rooms were very clean with nice facilities
The bed was slightly uncomfortable, but compared to everything else that is good with the hotel, I will live
Comfortable and very excellent
Noise from the pub didn't get much sleep
Staff were nice and friendly. Room was clean.
Noise from street , squeaky floorboards and comings and goings of people throughout the night caused lack of sleep. Food was not good.
Breakfast and the lady who cooked and served it.
Noisy bar downstairs, we were warned when we arrived, but not before we booked. We were told that servicemen were their main source of income. The main stations on the TV did not work so we couldn't even watch the news.
Good value for money
A bit basic
Helpful staff, comfortable, choice of breakfast menus, easy parking.
The good... Pleasant staff Super Breakfast Clean and spacious bathroom Convenient private car-parking
The bad... Wonky tv reception. Nothing done to reduce the traffic noise outside. eg. no thick curtains, no internal glazing etc. The ugly... some of the karaoke singers!
Breakfast was very nice
Sadie & her mum wilma couldn't do anymore nothing was too much trouble. Fab breakfast wilma! If we ever need to visit Warminster again we would definitely stay at the anchor.
The only thing is the room was incredibly hot even with the fan provided :-(
The price was good and breakfast was included. The breakfast was excellent and there was a lot of choice. The staff were very helpful and friendly.
It was noisy in the evening from the bar adjacent to the accommodation. The shower had poor water pressure and was dripping intermittently.
The staff were friendly and helpful, they served a decent pint and although it was noisy the locals were happy to chat and we had no bother with anyone. Ideal location for exploring around the Wiltshire district. The breakfast was excellent and again staff helpful and took time to chat.
Please change the windows as the music in the hotel is fine and perfectly understandable but to have to listen to the nightclub across the road until 3.30am is silly all it needs is a double glazed window, the ones we had in our room wouldn't even close?? Only other moan is the smokers sit outside but the window at the side of them was open they might as well have smoked inside.
Friendly staff. Comfortable beds
The room was unbearably hot and a fan was not provided. We did ask for one but they didn't have any. The noise from the pub was bad. We needed to open the windows because of the heat so we could not sleep until the pub had shut. There was no one available to call after hours if anything went wrong.
We stayed on a Tuesday which is the quietest night of the week and our room was also the 'quiet room' as it wasn't directly above the pub which I found to be reletively peaceful and had a pleasant sleep. I found the service from all staff to be the high light of my stay as they were all attentive, friendly and very welcoming. All standard hotel services are provided , including wifi. The hot breakfast was lush and fresh and also had cold options available as well as great cappuccinos! All in all a nice little break.
Couldnt of asked for more the room was clean and bedding was fresh.. The staff were very friendly and helpful and the free breakfast was delish.. Would definitly visit again, highly recommended
Good sized room which had all the facilities required. Excellent breakfast.
Noisy pub opposite but we were warned!
Central location, perfect for our visit to Longleat Safari Park, friendly and helpful staff, clean and tidy, great breakfast and free on site parking.
Fine breakfast. Clean room .comfortable bed .
The only thing that was good was staff and the pillow
Shower leaked and grotty, wooden toilet seat was split and un hygienic. Music was up loud until 12 midnight on Sunday night not normal !! Breakfast was very basic and chucked on plate. Bed was hard and could feel springs through them. Because the shower leaked it dripped all night and was so grotty I couldn't be brave enough to use. Toilet seat was wooden an cracked so had to hover over afraid of getting cut and infection :(
it was a 8 minute drive to longleat safari park
The windows were not even in the frames the frames were rotten they could not be opened. there was a fan but noisy and after a while was just blowing the warm air around the room, music /karaoke until 12 midnight, room 4 was directly above the bar, the toilet was on a slant, the floorboards were creaking with every step, we opened the fire door, the stench was unbearable, breakfast on day one was cold we had to ask to reheat, the breakfast lady on day 2 was too much of a busy body and she swore at a member of staff, if you want cheap then go there if you want comfort go elswhere this place needs knocking down and quick
The location for Longleat Safari Park was the only good thing about this pub
Room no 4 directly above the pub, music if you could call it that, was dread full going on until 12 midnight this was Tuesday and Wednesday, the heat was indescribable, we could not open the window for fear of it falling out onto the pavement below, the frame was old the window was not even in the frame! the frame was rotten, we had a fan in the room but was so noisy. The bathroom was large but when you sat on the toilet you feared of falling off as it was at a slant, we opened the fire door on the landing, the stench was unbearable, the floorboards creaked all over the place. . On wednesday morning breakfast, the lady, asked did we want crumpets , they were stone cold. The lady serving breakfast on thursday was too much of a busy body to concentrate on breakfast and was swearing at one of the staff., the manageress came into the kitchen in her PJs. How this PUB got a hotel lisence is beyond us. we went next door to Wetherspoons for some better atmosphere and a meal on Tuesday night and over the road to The Old Bell Inn for a 3 course meal on Wednesday night, if you want cheap then go there to stay , if you want to be comfortable then go elswhere. I would not reccomend this PUB to anyone, Infact I would, I would reccomend they knocked this pub down and quick.
The staff were very friendly and breakfast was very good
The heat in bedroom was unbearable as we could not open windows as they were broken. We asked for a fan which was provided but because there was a lack of fresh air the fan just circulated the heat. The noise from pub went on till nearly midnight which combined with the heat gave my Partner and I little sleep
Friendly staff, and packed lunch provided was good. Parking always a bonus, once the route was found! Good system for early leaving. We are considering it for a future larger group when fishing locally and staying overnight.
The packed lunch was in the room fridge, but not plugged in. When plugged in, door found to be broken
If like beer and rock, this is your place. Very near from Bath.
If you want go to bed early, as this located just above the pub, this is not you place.
Very noisy pub
Nice staff, very clean rooms and comfortable. Breakfast was excellent and bountiful.
was told on arrival about the karaoke that night and the live band the following night. Apparently it was mentioned on the web site but I never saw that. Lively pub, but not for a traveller who is tired and needs sleep.
