Room was very basic but comfortable and clean. Staff were very obliging and friendly. Excellent value for money.
Noise from the pub and local nightclub was a small problem but it will not stop me from staying over again.
Loved the location...easy to walk to dinner....great place for day trips to Bath and salisbury.....clean rooms, good breakfast ..had a live band!
It was located next to a night club and the pub itself was loud...had a live band...so if your wanting to get a solid nights sleep...probably won't happen.
The anchor inn is great for the social side very lively pub :-)
The shower in room 1 was very poor very low pressure&to get a decent shower ad to hold head at waist height
The b and b is right on the main road so traffic is busy .we stayed on a weekend where they have a live band which were very good .the pub was busy and the band were loud so instead of going to bed get involved and enjoy the entertainment, it doesnt finish until late but hey ho have another beer , if you want an early night dont stop here on a weekend then you cant moan after.the staff were all very helpful apart from no black pudding on mi breakfast lol.the local army lads were also a good laugh and we had a great night with them, the rooms were ok , clean and comfy , all you need really but not the ritz I would stay again when I go down and see my son whos in the army
NO BLACK PUDDING only kidding everything ok if you dont moan about the noise
Very polite staff, Convenient location, Bath and shower.
Above a pub, so noisy (as expected)
Staff where lovely .. enjoyed my stay .
Staff & good breakfast
Needs updating & a good clean :((
Location was good, food excellent, staff friendly and helpful.
Being a pub it was a little loud, not enough to put you off. All quiet by 11pm .
The websites need to be much clearer about the noise. It is described as a lively pub but that doesn't prepare you for the thumping music that makes the whole room vibrate, sleep before the music finishes is just not possible, neither is conversation or TV!
The staff were friendly and helpful.
Our room was pretty basic and scungy.Noise from the jukebox in the bar below our room was an irritant. It kept my partner from sleeping.
Room ok good wifi signal
Very noisy karaoke night which got louder and louder. The owners need to decide if they are a pub/music venue or a hotel, You can't be both
To be quite honest nothing
The place was noisy and filthy and the cups which meant to be clean had stain marks from outside the cup
Lovely bed very comfortable
The noise and the room wasn't cleaned before our stay. There was crums on the side near the television.
Nothing really; the poorest accommodation in our 3 weeks in England
We booked on the net from overseas. When we arrived about midday, the place was locked so we had to park elsewhere and came back after lunch. We were asked to pay before seeing the room which we found small and cramped. There was no hot water in the en-suite, no plug for the washbasin and in the morning we found the shower did not work. No warning of this although the lady in the breakfast room knew and said we should have been told. Room at the front was very noisy as on the main road with no double glazing. No-one available to receive our complaints before we had to leave. Very poor! We would have sought a refund as the stay was most unsatisfactory.
It's a great litte pub everyone is very helpful the B&B is separate to the pub in that it has it's own entrance and dinning area the rooms are above the pub so you must expect to hear some noise from the pub we knew this in advance and it did not spoil our stay at all we slept well and awoke to a cook to order English breakfast next morning, it's great value for money.
No real issues - we knew in advance there would be a live band playing so nothing to complain about at all
Not a lot!
We didn't have any electric in the bathroom which the staff knew about and it wasn't sorted. Noise of the band until the early hours was awful!! Noise early morning was awful too - little sleep
BREAKFAST DINING ROOM LOCKED AT 8.20 am I WAITED FROM 8am WHEN IT WAS TO OPEN I HAD TO LEAVE WITHOUT BREAKFAST AND FURTYHERMORE COULDN'T EXIT AS THE ENTRANCE WAS LOCKED WITH NOBODY IN ATTENDANCE I HAD TO EXIT VIA SUPERMARKET AT REAR WHICH ADDED 200 YDS WALK IN THE RAIN TO MY CAR I THEN HADTO FIND A PLACE TO GET A COFFEE I WAS NOT A HAPPY BUNNY !
Central location in Warminster. Good value for money.
I suspect it is potentially noisy from the downstairs bar - especially if there is a band playing. However, not a problem for us because out for evening and late (after midnight) return.
Man who showed us our room was polite. Learnt a good lesson - NEVER PAY UNTIL YOU ARE HAPPY WITH STAY.
Stayed on a Sunday night. Loud Karaoke all night till 12 - we were not told anything about this when we booked - said live music on Saturday - this was a Sunday night. Told we were given the quiet room - but heard everything. Below our window - which was closed - the smokers gathered and we heard every conversation, every bit of bad language. To drown out the noise we put the tv on. The tv was not working properly , kept freezing and then switching itself off every 10 mins so impossible to watch. Shower kept running at different intervals despite being turned off as much as possible. It would stop then drip then run then stop again. When I had a shower it was not much more than a trickle so a waste of time. In the morning we went down for breakfast. We were ignored by the staff. When we entered the breakfast room there was a man there who was talking to some other guests he told them to just sit down and help themselves to cereal, coffee etc he then exited - because we overheard this we did just that hoping to see someone shortly. After having our cereal and finishing my coffee another member of staff eventually came out from the kitchen went to the other table(Walking straight past us and not even acknowledging us) and took their order, she then came back past us and the comment was "Well I might as well take your order now" which she did. We then waited a good 20 mins for our breakfast to arrive. Whilst waiting another person (whom we gathered by the conversation that went on in the kitchen) walked through the breakfast room in her pyjamas to the kitchen where the conversation went on about how busy they were over the weekend, how the freezer wasn't working properly , how several things weren't defrosted properly, how tired she was after the weekend etc. Eventually the PJ clad woman left and our breakfast was brought out and put down infront of us.
The person that welcomed on us on arrival was lovely and couldn't have been more helpful.
I knew about the live music and the noisy location so that was no surprise. However, the mattress should be thrown out! The bathroom was mouldy, hot and steamy from a leaking tap, and the toilet was dirty. I couldn't bring myself to use any of it. In the end we were so appalled at the bad beds and disgusting bathroom that we spent the night at a friend's house nearby and basically paid £60 to store our suitcase! There was zero Internet reception! Unless you go and stand in the bar in the pub you cannot even find it to log on, never mind use it! As I said, I couldn't fault the friendly people but would I ever recommend it to anyone? No, sadly not!
The location was excellent; a short walk to all amenities.
The position of the room which was allocated to us. It was directly above the DJ station therefore incredibly noisy which resulted in the lack of sleep. Never again. It advertises that it is a hotel, has a cafe and bistro which it doesn't. It also doesn't advertise that it has entertainment on every night of the week. We specifically chose Sunday and Monday as there was nothing advertised on a Sunday evening and when we got there, the host informed us that it was a karaoke evening - not amused.
The noise level! It was very loud and was vibrating our room as we were above
Easy to find with a great bar and parking facilities. There was a good crowd of locals in the bar, with a great drinks selection. The landlady was very helpful and advised on some good places to eat.
Staff were friendly and rooms were very clean with nice facilities
The bed was slightly uncomfortable, but compared to everything else that is good with the hotel, I will live
