Nothing we didn't like about this hotel, good location, very good value and really friendly staff. We travel as a group of installers and rely on wi fi which was excellent also.
Very friendly, helpful staff. Excellent value for money!
Nice clean friendly place
all-round helpful and clean and good sleep,
We got an excellent price on booking.com. the price was so good I Was worried the place would be dirty but it wasn't. The staff was lovely the location lovely but maybe out of the way and the restaurant was nice and very reasonably priced. I was very happy with our trip.
We liked the location. The room was clean and the bed comfortable. The reception staff were very friendly and welcoming.
We arrived at 9.10pm and were told the kitchen had already closed. We were offered a cheese and salad sandwich. This type of inflexibility really brings down the experience of a hotel stay in so many places. Surely, the chef could have offered something a little more substancial at 10 mins past kitchen close. The bathroom was very large and sparce. It needs another towel rail and some hooks. Also we could clearly hear our neighbours TV until midnight.
Exceeded our expectations.
absolutely no mobile signal and very poor wi-fi connection
Large bar & seating area, carvery was good value for money. All very clean & tidy.
was not aware the twin rooms were outside as double rooms were in the hotel. The hotel was on the A32, 10 miles outside Winchester. It seemed to be mainly used by men working away from home.
Comfy bed excellent sleep great food and remarkable cheap but excellent beer where on earth could you match that
Rural location in a pretty part of Hampshire, carvery, great local ale, simple and good wine list, a pub grub menu and extensive seating with a well thought out and spacious eating area to cope with the family or the lone businessman. So good for working in or picking your next days adventure from your ipad or whatever. The accommodation is modern and well equipped and I didn't have any issues with noise in the two nights I stayed. In fact it was very quiet. The breakfast was also in plentiful sufficiency and very good. No problems with safe car parking, conveniently sited round the premises. 10 out of 10 for a country inn.
Given a dog kennel sizes room but the room was changed after I complained.
The room was tastefully decorated and clean. Though I only stayed one night, had a very pleasant sleep. Would stay again and would recommend it to others.
Barely any signal for your phone, luckily free wifi and was able to contact people via Internet based communications such as whatsapp. Still an inconvenience.
Generally all of it.
Shower was poor - kept oscillating between very hot and cold. Also, mixed grill at evening meal lacked usual trimmings e.g. an egg!
Good value for money hotel, excellent carvery, clean and spacious rooms quite location. friendly afficient staff
meals good and reasonable price.
The walls are thin. The neighbour's tv can be heard clearly. Wall socket use next door sounded like rats scrabbling behind bedhead.
Room size was good Breakfast buffet ok
Lack of smiles & interaction from staff, made to feel that we were an inconvenience! The room smelt musty, plugs missing and dirty in the bathroom. The shower sprayed all over the place, largely due to lime scale build up. The furniture was unique, the glass covers at the sides of the bed were not fixed. They were dangerous. The drawers had drink stains on the front that hadn't been cleaned properly The road in front was very busy and we were woken by headlights snd traffic noises throughout the night. The evening meal was poor, veg was cold on the buffet and the chicken dish was over cooked. The Tables were so sticky that plates and glasses stuck to it! The menu was an old laminated A4 sheet with no desserts and little choice. The next day the waiter hardly spoke, did not give us a choice of table and was sniffing gratuitously every time he walked past, quite disgusting. The carpets had obvious dust on them, and the pictures were not cleaned. The bedding was bobbly The last mornings waitress was unfriendly and again did not speak or be helpful to us or to other customers. No one knew where to sit or how to use the toaster, really disappointed with the whole stay.
Reception and Housekeeping staff very friendly. Lovely spacious room and bathroom. Very clean, plentiful hot water with good flow of water in shower.Carvery excellent value also breakfast plentiful and hot. Accommodation excellent for price paid and would stay again if in area despite a few staff members spoiling the whole ambience.
Beds do have Hypnos mattress as advertised but they seemed rather old, springs kept going boing making sleep difficult. Breakfast staff on 2nd day somewhat ill-mannered. Complaint made to male reception and told breakfast is self serve, hotel is cheapest in area and problem is with 'you Northerners' not the way to react to complaints. Hotel policy is not to provide hand towels only 1 bath towel per person, awkward drying hands and hair with a bath towel.
food,room,service and helpful staff.
not near Alton.8 miles away.
Room was very spacious and comfortable
Room could have been cleaner, there was some stains in the bed sheets and cobwebs in the corners of the window. Tripped on the small step from the bathroom into the bedroom
Friendly and helpful staff, reasonably priced menu, quiet location (in a room away from the road)
Flimsy toilet paper!
Set in lovely countryside about 10 minutes drive from Petersfield - Satnav found location easily. Pleasantly surprised by the spacious and comfortable hotel bar & lounge areas. Plenty of areas to park around hotel and annex. Very friendly welcome from staff. Good freshly cooked breakfast. Room & bathroom very clean. Bed very comfortable. Great value for money at a time of year when many other hotels in the area were vastly inflated prices due to Goodwood Revival taking place. We would definitely stay here again and recommend to others.
If I stayed here again I would ask for a main hotel room or an upstairs bedroom in the annex because as soon as the residents above us were up and moving we were woken by the loud creaking floor above us both mornings (from about 6am when we wished to sleep until 7am). This was only a problem due to the early riser above us obviously. There were problems with the toaster both mornings which set off the smoke alarm when bread got stuck.
Easy and no hassle
spiders in my room, flies in my room, no air conditioning, a bathroom that coupled as a sauna. being over-charged even though I had pre-booked (dealt with by complaining).
