everything was fine
only bad point was the noise of the guests staying in the room next door, but this is hardly the fault of the hotel.
the food was good and staff friendly
the double bed was very hard and lumpy. we booked a twin room but we were given a double the next morning we were told that there had been plenty of twin rooms available.
Large room, warm, TV with multi-channels. Wifi that actually worked Room 212. Large pub/bar area carvery good menu too. Comfortable bed.
Hotel on busy Gosport Road, A bit of a way from Alton (5-6miles) Very large but cold bathroom.
Food and ale excellent room comfortable, staff very helpful
The fact that you saved me a small fortune.
Having been known through out the land to appreciate the odd pint or two, this is without doubt the worst stocked bar I have ever frequented .The beer I was presented with took me back thirty years to the miners strike (colliers home brew) and the as advertised draught guiness served from a can, time for bed.
The friendliness and helpfulness of all the staff. Good size bedrooms. Very good food at reasonable prices.
The noise of the room on the road side
value for money easy access to Southampton. Good Calvary meal
Excellent value for money
Can't stand up in Rm206 shower. Appreciate problem with roofline, but believe bath would fit at 90deg.
easy to find good food warm
bathroom not very clean cost of breakfast is too high
The helpful and friendly staff.
No hairdryer in room
Excellent rooms, very clean and comfortable, with very nice en-suite. Excellent television in the room - the best I have seen in a hotel. Very pleasant and helpful staff. Plenty of parking.
The carvery dinner was ok, but could have been better.
We loved our room 106 which was a seperate block. Very comfortable room. The carvery was lovely too.
Very little.Comfy bed.
Staff were not that friendly. No distinction between Hotel and Lodge. Hotel room equipped better than Lodge. Improvements needed in Lodge.Sound proofing and better outside lighting..
Bar and Restaurant Comfortable room with everything you require
WiFi was a bit slow
Restaurant on site was excellent as was the menu choice
Location difficult to find in you input postcode into Sat Nav. Post code puts you about 4 miles from the actual location
Located in a very nice part of the country.
Noisy traffic on the main road throughout the night.
nice sized room with couple of chairs as well as bed. Roomy bathroom, able to get a drink at the bar when we came back after midnight.
Wifi a bit slow but ok. Breakfast a bit expensive but was optional to room cost.
Comfortable, spacious room, Staff very helpful, only asked distance to our next destination and within a couple of minutes a map was printed for me!
The room was spacious, the bed comfortable, the flatscreen TV excellent and the wi-fi reliable. Late check-in presented no problems. The restaurant was very reasonably priced and the food enjoyable. There was abundant car-parking provision. The nearby NT property - Hinton Ampnett - was an added bonus.
For a visit to Winchester we would have preferred to have been closer, but the journey was fast and uncluttered.
All staff were fantastic especially the guy on reception who was there when we checked in at 9pm and then still there when we had breakfast at 9am! Bed was really comfortable. Spacious, clean room.
Wi fi was slow.
Food good nice eating area
Heating off my father was not very warm
Very comfortable.good facilities and friendly staff and good food.
It was my first stay at the Angel and I'd happily stay there again and bring members of my family here. In fact have already recommended it to some friends who are looking for accommodation in this area after Christmas. The staff were welcoming, friendly and helpful without being intrusive. Rooms very clean, well equipped and comfortable. Lovely choice of food for my Continental breakfast. 24 hour reception was useful as I came back both evenings late after meetings. Lovely area - pastoral outlook, great to visit Winchester and Jane Austen's home nearby too.
Nothing - it suited my visit perfectly. Chose it for location plus no smoking and no pets.
