Walking down a bare floored narrow servants quarter corridor to a supposedly deluxe room, which, when we opened the door was an immense disappointment
Shared lounge rooms beautifully appointed and decorated, with interesting objects d'art.

The bathroom let this hotel down. Needs upgrading although it was clean.

Creaky floor boards in bedroom.
We stayed in the Angel as we were attending the 40th anniversary of Abergavenny Squash Club in the Ballroom. Excellent occasion.

This place was really nice. It had a great atmosphere and the dinner and breakfast we had was stunning. Very well located and parking wasn't a problem.

Ambiance & comfort of our room
30 April 2015
bedroom small old and noisy seemed a standard three. star hotel trying to be something higher and failing
position in town was very central making visit to church museum and castle easy. own small car park

Another time we would choose a deluxe room overlooking the courtyard. Our room at the front of the hotel was noisy but only to be expected in a town centre.
The room was spacious and extremely comfortable.
7 April 2015
The rooms are still very old and creaky, particularly the bathrooms.
The public spaces are excellent. Obviously going through a big renovation. I wouldn't pick this as a 3 star hotel when in the bar etc, more 4 star. Only the rooms and particularly the bathroom show it's 3 star rating.

Ambience, decor downstairs, food was very good.
12 February 2015
The room was too hot and we could not manage to cool it down despite altering the radiator setting and trying to open the window. The floor was very creaky which didn't affect us too much but I did wonder if anyone ajoining or below was annoyed by it!
Decor and layout of hotel was lovely -welcoming and stylish at the same time. Everything was very clean and the bed was comfortable. I had a choice of soft and firm pillows which was an excellent idea. Breakfast was lovely with a good choice and arrived promptly. Staff very courteous and professional. We didn't feel at all hurried when the bar was closing and staff were very polite in making sure we had everything we wanted before they left. Would definitely love to stay again and sample the evening meal!

The small bathroom with the burning hot radiator, which could have been quite dangerous.
