Hotel could do with a face lift but was acomadating. Food good and filling staff very helpful and honest.
Heating not working in room 210 but was giving hot air heater.
Location, ambience, breakfast and helpful staff
The blind in the bathroom was faulty which is nothing really!
The room was good lounge cosy with open fire.the meals we did have was good with limited choice. But overall a pleasant visit, staff helpful.
Meals not catered for residents well when they had large Christmas function in the hotel. Staff didn't seem to know which room or what meals would be served.Breakfast very good..t
Excellent breakfast. A hotel with character
Standard double bed.
Great location, super staff, lovely big room
Not enough staff, bedroom fittings poor
Room clean and fairly comfortqble
Asked for a ground floor room due to a bad back.didnt get one and none available. If I had been advised prior to travelling of this, to be frank, I would have cancelled to find somewhere that did have a ground floor room. The "Wi-Fi" in every room, wasnt. No signal in the annex.
Lovely hotel, soaked in history, enjoyed so much we will definately be returning. Polite helpful & friendly staff. Comfy beds, good breakfast.
Every thing about the whole experience was great.. Staff were excellent, very clean comfortable room and not far to walk as I am Disabled... I would Recommend the Hotel to ALL my friends
I never disliked anything about my stay....
The room was unbearably hot and the radiator would not turn down. In the end I had to move rooms which was very inconvenient. I had arrived early as wanted everything to be right for when my partner arrived as it was a birthday treat. In the end, he arrived whilst I was in the midst of transferring rooms which really did put a spoiler on things. Plus I felt very frustrated as I had purposely paid for a luxury room to ensure things would be that extra bit special. On the whole, a very disappointing experience.
Excellent hotel, will stay again.
Dinner very poor, will eat out next time
I had an excellent stay in a comfortable well run hotel. The staff were excellent, very friendly and helpful. they really make you feel at home. The breakfast is good value and there is an excellent choice. all in all a very good stay and would recommend it to anyone
Building itself is so good to look at full of character
Grantham itself looks tired and needs investment and interior of the hotel looks tired also
Good location good sized rooms.
The staff are not knowledgable about their product and are not well trained. The food is ok but not of the best quality.
friendly staff especially reception !
being brought cooked breakfast before having finished cereal.
Service received at breakfast let them down and noise from outside in the street.
welcome from reception. all staff excellent large room quiet for town centre good food and excellent real ale dog welcome
room needs updating
Excellent location in the city centre with parking facility Historical building with loads of character Style of the bedroom Nice bristro downstairs with fantastic food Quiet and relaxing environment Friendly staff
The night staff have top customer service! Mark looked after us very well.
Comfortable bed and clean and tidy room Very good breakfast
the bed was nice
paid £135 for our one night stay and to be honest got no help from staff struggling to get upstairs with all our stuff as we just got married room was very dull
The building and it's history. Royalty from King John to the Duchess of Cambridge have stayed here with Heneries Charles and even Oliver Cromwell in between. The first floor room where Richard 111 had his business meeting amazed
It is not fair to criticize. It is a good hotel in a county town, emerging from recession. The food was good and nicely presented. Grantham on a Saturday morning had an interesting market. The mix of clientele was interesting. And for a while you can pretend you are Pickwick - although I don't think he ventured that far north So we liked
Really comfy bed and spacious room. Staff incredibly helpful and friendly. Would definitely recommend this hotel with a lot of character.
The room was large, very clean and extremely comfortable and felt quite luxurious. The hotel has a lot of history and character and felt homely and not too corporate. The staff were friendly, the breakfast was good, the bar was lovely and atmospheric and the location in the centre of Grantham worked well. They also offer free parking. I would have liked to have stayed longer and hope to return.
We stayed on a Saturday night and the room was a bit noisy when the local pubs closed about 11ish, but that wasn't the fault of the hotel
Fast room service Very clean room and bathroom Excellent room service staff - but breakfast table staff could do with a little improvement Generous room service meals Much improvement in the general facilities offered (over last management, that is) Historic background of the hotel The alleged 'Ghost(s)'! (Great drawcard)
One small piece of soap to last two people two days and evenings Less breakfast service than is expected WiFi didn't work on last day at hotel
