The character of the hotel, lovely building. Location Comfy bed Friendly staff Quiet room.
The suite we stayed in was beautiful and very roomy. The bathroom was gorgeous and luxurious including a large bath and separate shower unit. Would definite stay again, well worth it.
Comfortable, Quaint with excellent location. It always suits my needs perfectly
Such a lovely building, friendly and helpful staff and large room.
Shame the lift was broken. Some signs of 'faded glory' with damp patches or faded carpet. Real shame that the hotel don't do their own breakfast.
Everything was just perfect, lovely room and the restaurants and area was lovely, a lovely historic area as well as modern shopping, so suits all.
Comfortable bed and a great location
It took a very long time for the water to get hot.
Extremely nice staff and a central place to stay
Bed was a bit hard and there was absolutely no sound isolation, but it didnt really matter
Lovely old building
Initially no tea or coffee in room. Only one bath towel.
My bedroom was very comfortable, tea and coffee tv,lovely soft bed,Nice bathroom, downstairs the hotel had a Cafe/dining room called Bills where they cook up some very Yummy food,Lovely hotel would stay again,..
No dislikes at all,,...
Really helpful person on the desk in the evening. Good to have had coffee in the room especially as especially as Breakfast was so late. The bathroom walls could be better as well as the black mold on the bath tub.
It would have been good to have double glazing noise from the street pigeon noise please get rid of. Breakfast at 0800 or 0830 not practical. The restaurant and Bar closed down pretty early. Glad there was a restaurant downstairs that was open a bit later.
There is a good restaurant next door, where it is also possible to eat breakfast (as long as you don't mind waiting until 8 am when they open).
brilliant location without car so walking distance from train station.
Exellent location - right in the centre of town and a short walk from the station. Attentive and efficient reception staff. Lots of original features yet sympathtically modernised. Large room and ensuite. Very reasonably priced for short notice New Year's trip.
I dont normally write reviews, but this hotel is amazing!Excellent location. The decoration is so lovely,as is the food and restaurant. We stayed in a suite on new years eve and it was worth every penny!Would highly recommend.
Location on High Street was great. Loved the historical nature of the property.
The property is a bit tired and could use some freshening up.
Olay worldy room with 4 poster bed.
It was a bit cold in the room.
Nice and quiet considering the extremely central location, very spacious room and bathroom - polite and helpful staff.
Would have preferred a double bed over two single mattresses but that was a very minor consideration.
location, atmosphere, staff
water pressure has issues (sometimes), can be noisy, depending on where room faces
Location, very friendly people and ready to help you with anything.I will came back.
Lack of parking PArking restrictions outside the hotel which makes it difficult to park No breakfast possibility included with the rate In 3 days at the hotel I never got new soap or showergel replaced
Poky Room No water Pressure Very mean coffee /Tea sachets No information regarding Long stay/overnight Parking Expensive doss house
Lovely room, very comfortable and clean. Quirky corridors.
No shower curtain so bathroom floor got very wet, but it was well tiled and dried quickly.
