The Angus Hotel  

The honesty of the staff. I lost a braclet and it was found and kept for me to collect on my return trip. Staff most helpful.. I was very grateful

Sitting / drinking area was a little uncomfortable for prolonged chatting!

The beds were very comfortable and the staff were excellent

Food is very basic, tasteless. Damp patches in the room with smell in the toilets from the sewage pipes.

Location fabulous, easy access to East Coast and mountains, fab, picture postcard towns and villages, whiskey distilleries etc etc. Great WOW factor all round.

The breakfast was lovely albeit the maitre d somewhat rude.

The room was small, pokey, and noisy. Getting to the room involved navigation through a myriad of halls and corridors of decreasing width - something not dissimilar to an 'Alice in Wonderland' experience. We were clearly below a staircase above with constant running up and down the stairs at all hours of the day and night. The shower was too small to stand up straight in with my head touching the ceiling and required a 'crouch' to wash my hair!!!!

The staff were absolutely charming, the Hotel comfortable and very reasonably priced and the meals tailored to taste !! A very enjoyable stay.

Good decor throughout - stylish reception area. Clean, tidy room with HOT water! Welcoming, efficient and friendly staff. Great breakfast. Excellent value for money.

The fact that people did not pay attention to the Car Park being just for Hotel patrons, people who worked locally parked there all day.

Friendly, helpful staff.

Booked for B/B but wished to have dinner at hotel. Although booked for evening dinner we were not allowed in main dining room and had to eat in bar although it was main dining room menu and prices. Meal was not warm enough when it eventually arrived.

I liked the friendly relaxed atmosphere. It was such a lovely relaxed weekend.

Smelly bathrooms Dated and in need of major investment decor.

It is in the centre of town. Has a pool Good breakfast. Bedlinen clean. Reception staff very friendly.

It needs a bit of TLC above ground floor level. The shower in the room we had was pretty ancient and requires updating to something better. It was basically a hand held spray which was attached to the wall. Would only use hotel if there was a special offer as I would not like to pay full rate for this type of room.

The weather was awful but the room was very cosy. The breakfast ample. Staff are very welcoming.

Unfortunately while I was only there for 2 nights on each night there was entertainment and I heard every beat of the music. But do you know what if it did not spoil my stay one bit. I love the Angus.

The indoor pool and spa

There was meant to be 24 hour service however the reception desk was not manned Two mornings in a row (couldnt get baby bottled sterilised at 7am or a coffee) and our room service trays were not cleared.

I like everything at this Hotel that is why i have been booking a stay when i can and booked every year, although this year i was taken care of my daughter and her cancer opporation, glad to say she is much better and hopes to stay that way. I will book again early next year. thanks.

little errors with breakfast being cold. radiator in bathroom not working over a period of three days.

Really impressed at genuine warm welcome & helpfullness of staff - this applied to every member of staff we came into contact with. Lovely leisure pool. Great location & got parked no problem right outside.

In family room we needed to use the top bunk bed of the childrens beds - a bit precarious climbing up so high & the ladder wasn't great.

Value for money. Food was good. Swimming pool was brilliant as it had a shallow end that our daughter who is nervous of water could use and not be out of her depth. Parking right out front.

The bed was two singles pushed together and because of this the duvet didn't quite fit over the edge of the bed. The mattress on my side was too hard. The bathroom had a huge window with no blind or curtains on it, even though the glass was frosted you did feel a bit exposed. The shower in our room was a bit out of date you had to fiddle with the taps to get the correct temperature for showering.

I liked the friendly, helpful staff, the location and the comfort.

It was very welcoming and good value for money. Next time we will take our bathing costumes as the pool looked very inviting. The staff were friendly and helpful. Food was the best on our trip.

Helpfulness of all of the staff, specifically Audrey on Reception in finding me my desired room on this occasion (as I was staying in difficult family circmstances). This is an excellent wee gem of a hotel.
