The lady serving breakfast was polite and friendly. Should be on reception!!.
No main lighting in room and no lighting in bathroom. With no light from outside impossible to use bathroom properly ie.. dangerous to use shower. Able to use toilet and hand basin with door wide open.
We looked at lots of hotels before booking here, this is probably the best value (for London) we could find (£69 inc breakfast for "exec double"), between winsor castle and Hampton court. Room was clean, tidy, lots of parking spaces, breakfast was fine, staff were pleasant. We weren't expecting luxury, we just wanted somewhere to sleep, (I slept ok, my partner not so well due to light emitting from curtains, and under the door) shower and refuel in the morning for a reasonable price, it served its purpose ok, all things said we would probably use again for similar trips in that area.
Room was very cold when we arrived (January), open window with no handle, took a while to get warm. Wi-if didn't work in the room, only in the lobby. There was a party in the function room (Saturday night) which went on until 12.30ish including the spontaneous drummer, it would have been an issue if we had wanted an early morning departure. I think there had been a fight at the party, as there were fresh blood stains and broken sun glasses in the outside smoking area. Having read other reviews, we were aware that the restaurant only served Indian food, so we tried the Swan hotel across the road, very expensive, (burger and fries £15 pp) we would probably have been better crossing the river into Staines for food.
Clean and comfortable room. Spacious bathroom and shower. Pleasant and efficient staff. Good breakfast with plenty of choice.
No bathroom bin.
Liked everything. Quiet, clean, would highly recommend it. Looking forward to our next visit.
Hard to understand the heating in our room!
large room clean and modern friendly staff good breakfast lovely bathroom
room was cold on arrival and took a while to heat up
Very convenient to where we were visiting friends. We got 2 rooms next to each after after speaking with the staff
Just a shame there was not more people staying there as a consequence lacked atmosphere
One night stop. Had 2 functions going but avoided restaurant delay by taking order and calling when ready. Service excellent even gave us room away from the party noise. for ref the restaurant is Indian cuisine, not a problem for us but it may help to know.
Our room was well decorated & comfortable. A great position for visiting local area. Staff very helpful and pleasant. Restaurant was enjoyed by everyone in our group. All round value for money.
Room was really freezing when we arrived - but soon warmed up with the heating system.
Executive room that are a lot better, hence the split reviews on here.
Standard rooms are old and substandard. Akin to a bad travel lodge, but at way over travel lodge prices. staff told me I had been given a bad room because I booked on booking.com. If I had booked direct i would have got a new room. Standard rooms are NOT boutique style as the hotel advertises, in fact the hotel is not boutique at all its corporate without the service levels. There are no facilities at all here and the reception closes with doors locked at 11, so forget late check ins. I now stay in stains 2 nights a week every week for the forsee able future. After 2 nights here I won't be staying again. Thanks for the poor experience ill take my £10,000 a year elswhere.
access and friendly staff
Helpful staff. Let us check in early after a long flight.
Limited dining facilities. Indian food only.
very polite and helpful staff, was given the option to upgraded are room due to a cancellation for a minimal charge, all round a very good hotel will use again
The staff were really nice, in particular Martin the bar man. He took the time to show us round the grounds and explained the history of the hotel in that it used to belong to Anne Boleyn.
Quiet location yet easy access to Staines town centre and rail travel to Twickenham and central London
Nothing excellent value for money
- Hotel Parking is very convenient and easy to find
- Booked a standard room and it was extremely disappointing, when I asked to move I was told would have to pay to upgrade. The next room I was shown was in the attic and was very cold. Third room was nice but for the cost of the room I would not class it as an upgrade but a newly refurbished, modern room.
Staff very friendly and helpful. Got in at 10;30 pm and attached Indian restaurant was still serving and the food was excellent. The room was well decorated, the shower was very powerful and lots of hot water and the bed was kingsize and very comfortable.Easy to get to after a rugby match at Twickenham when all travelling back to London
There was a party going on and it was very noisy, but the bar and restaurant was very quiet despite of it and we were on the top floor so we could not hear a thing so not really a bad point
Bed comfortable. Breakfast hot. Parking. Location near centre of town. Near river for nice walk.
Bathroom curtains stained. Crumbs in draw on work table. Mirror propped up on floor.
The room and service was fine. I wish I had the opportunity to eat at the Indian restaurant.
It was a Saturday and all I wanted was poach eggs on toast. as I get sickly with scrambled eggs but was informed that it's buffet style and The kitchen doesn't take orders. But they can accommodate on a Sunday.
Easy check in, nice and quiet hotel. Friendliness of staff also good.
There needs to be more effort in the bar and saffron restaurant in regards to ambiance to draw in external custom, and make the experience better for guests staying at the hotel. It feels quite lonely sitting in the bar having a drink on your own. If th bar area was spuced up a bit with mellow background music and nice ambiant lighting it would make the experience better.
The room was very well appointed and quiet. The breakfast was excellent, and parking was free and plentiful. We wanted to spend our last night in England at a place that felt like England and this was it. Across the street was a nice pub and the river Thames. The Bolyn also has a nice restaurant, but it was Indian, and we had dined Indian the previous two nights, so we did not partake.
We had heavy luggage, and there was no lift. The reception did offer to help, but only after I had lugged the heavy pieces myself.
excellent customer service
Location and ease of access. Value for money including an excellent breakfast. Very friendly and helpful staff.
We upgraded to an executive room with air conditioning. This may have been a mistake as the room was freezing. The staff did offer to change our room and with explanation the heating did eventually kick in, but went off again during the night so woke up very chilly
Great room, new, modern and very clean. Good breakfast included. Plenty of parking.
Shower not hot enough. Tends to change temp.
Really nice hotel. The bed was extremely comfy. Local amenities are within walking distance. Good location, just on the Thames.
The view of a wall and bars on the window, kind of took the shine off the whole appearance of the room
Lovely hotel been there few times and never disappointed lovely place and great location is a bonus
