Stayed one night at the Bondgate Boutique. The owner was most welcoming and my room was lovely. The bed was comfortable, the ensuite was spotless and there was even a private outside terrace for my exclusive use.

The bed side lights could be taller - it was impossible to read in bed without the top lights being on. Wifi wasn't good in this room and I had to keep moving to the door to get a signal. However, the hotel proprietor had warned me about this.

Well located. excellent breakfast next door. Beautifully modern and clean

As we couldnt open window it could get a bit stuffy. However we understood the reason for this being on the main street.

Good bed and linens. Location very handy for everything. Terrace great in the sunshine. Large car park - access not a problem as some have suggested.

Very small shower room for premium accommodation. On street room got very hot despite fan or open window - hence noisy too. Breakfast (at Plough next door) was very basic - minimal fresh fruit and other things premium suggests. There are no "public rooms" as such to relax in - that could be clearer on website.

The quality of service - friendliness. Added touches like 60th Birthday balloon for my wife - don't even remember mentioning which birthday it was. Breakfasts varied and good quality. Location couldn't be better. Busy main road runs past front but couldn't hear a thing at the back.

Would have liked an armchair in the bedroom, but it would have been a bit of a squash. Also, very exciting getting into the car park :)

The excellent location, close to good restaurants, comfy beds, pillows and good quality linens. Good power shower. The owner Charlotte was very friendly & helpful. I would recommend this as a base for discovering Northumberland. Alnwick Castle & Gardens are literally at the back if the house!

Location was good. Modern refurbished property. Good shower. Well looked after for breakfast. Lots of local eating places to walk to (in high summer). Perfect for Alnwick Castle.

Breakfast menu next door a bit limited if you did not want cooked breakfast every morning (cheese, porridge, croissants?) Double room a bit small. No reception of lounge area.

    Location.

Basically paid £95 for a night in a shoe box and a view of the back alley of the adjacent building! Not even a desk to work from my lap top so had to put a case on the bed to create a surface. Bathroom extremely cramped. I will certainly have to look up the meaning of "boutique" becuase in this case it translates as rip-off! Certainly won't be staying again or recomending.

Very helpful owner, useful to have parking in central location. Room stylish and clean and well equipped as was the rest of the hotel.

room was very hot and window only opened a little way, unfortunately on the night I stayed it was very noisy but you have to expect that in a central location. Personally not a fan of memory foam mattresses which are too soft and very hot

    Nice location and easy parking.

Not very welcoming as travelling with a 18month old. We were told they 'had to honour' our booking as we booked with the previous owners but that we would not be allowed to stay there otherwise. Would have preferred a phone-call prior to coming as would have gladly tried to arrange alternative accommodation. Room was far too hot with windows that couldn't be opened. Other occupants must have used all the hot water because shower was cold.

We had a quiet room at the rear of the property with its own private, furnished patio. The comfortable bed.

    The noisy plumbing!

Well decorated with a comfortable bed.

We were expecting a larger, brighter room, it was dark and the ceilings were low.
