Crown Hotel sits on the edge of Blandford, with views of the Stour River's water meadows and the town. It has a gastro-style restaurant and a stylish, upmarket bar.

A 25-minute drive from Dorchester and Blandford Forum, The Fox Inn is a pretty inn in the Dorset countryside. There is free parking and Wi-Fi, and full English breakfast served in the garden room.
Score from 81 reviews Fabulous
Serving homemade ice cream and real ales, The Langton Arms has a traditional pub restaurant. The inn is set in a 17th-century thatched house, in the picturesque Dorset village of Tarrant Monkton.

Character pub with friendly staff and lovely country location, food also very good
retained its character with a thatched roof on the building and an excellent location
there were not bottles of water to drink in the rooms
Lovely little village of Pimperne and the Anvil should be a real gem with its lovely garden, fine food and friendly, helpful staff. The evening meals were huge and good, although not cheap.
There was almost laughable service at breakfast, where it sometimes took up to an hour to be served and then after having to repeat requests or go to the kitchen to get our hot water or toast. One day guests were going from table to table asking for a knife or a spoon or a cup. Our room was small, dusty, with cobwebs all round the windows. There there were few homely touches, which we have come to expect from a four star £110 a night accommodation, which is why we thought the value for money was poor.
the setting, the room, and the service
Food unimaginative, and terrible humming noise all night in Room 6 from either kitchen air conditioning or water pump in cellar. They turned it off when asked.
Lovely place, staff were very nice and helpful
I'm tall, the doors are not!
Lovely spacious room. Lots of character. Good food.
Rooms nice & clean with modern bathroom.
Communal & reception area a bit tatty
Pretty thatched roof Breakfast good Comfortable bed Plenty of space
Real ale lack of choice and quality Overpriced room £130 Food expensive for the quality
Our room was Excellent, Staff very helpful and caring, Food & Drink good. We had a wonderful time and wish we had been able to spend more time there as we found the accommodation most charming.
Although the accommodation is a reasonable distance from the road still a lot of traffic noise but our stay was at harvest time. We must point out that the staircase to accommodation is quite awkward for elderly, infirm or tall people, this should be pointed out in literature also could do with additional handrails however this did not detract from our stay.
Our room was so comfortable, just what we needed. and so quiet, and peaceful and tranquil! The breakfast was outstanding, everything was locally produced, the bacon was thick and cooked really well, eggs done to perfection. Wonderful setting, just so, so very beautiful! Will never forget our stay at the Anvil Inn!
I like the building and garden, it is thatched and full of character and has a pretty garden with a pond. A very pleasant place to spend an evening. The cooked breakfast was very good. The staff were generally very friendly.
The weather was exceptionally hot and humid this made the bedroom and bathroom very hot, but there was a small fan available for the bedroom. On arrival we felt that the receptionist did not make us feel very welcomed. On departure I rang the bell at reception and waited, then my husband came in and said the receptionist was out side working. So we went outside to ask her if we could check out. I did wonder how long I would have waited there!
Friendly welcome and atmosphere throughout the stay. Good food and comfortable bed. Will use again when in the area
Location and room were excellent
Food and service downstairs
Cramped bedroom; lack of easy chair(s)
No shower in en-suite bathroom.
Staff extremely helpful, lovely hotel and location. Food very good. Would stay again
The ambiance and the friendliness.
Can't think of anything.
good location and very pretty inn from outside.
no designated disabled parking space. Awful buzzing, droning noise in bedroom all night. no on asked if we had enjoyed the stay when we were presented with the bill by a member of the kitchen staff. would not re-visit.
Friendly staff. Good breakfast. Clean rooom and bathroom. Location excellent Will stay there again.
Light in bathroom too dim
The location and the building, ample parking plus a nice garden. Breakfast was fine. Serving staff friendly.
Had an evening meal, food was well presented but the roast belly of pork was very tough and chewy. had been cooked too fast.
Helpful, friendly staff.
Wine list was a little pricey, so we stuck to cider and beer.
Very attentive staff nice relaxing atmosphere
Stairs were a bit tight for elderly mum and dad and bathroom/shower facilities could have had handrails
