easy access to major roads and attractions such as Conkers and Twyford Zoo
rooms were a bit too hot
I'm working in Atherstone and have tried the Red Lion and a place in Nuneaton, but will spend the remaining time at the AH, The food is great. As a traveller away from home the two things you require is a nice comfortable room good internet connection, this has both. The staff are great and I cannot fault the food, it's not al a carte, but then Its not al a carte price. There are at least 12 specials on the board, so plenty to choose from. The service is good too. G
Good location for zoo. Plenty of parking. Kids play area, good breakfast.
Shower - like a watering can! blankets rather than duvets on beds.
Clean, good value rooms well located for Twycross Zoo. Decent sized (if a little basic) rooms. Good kids play area and large breakfast room, bar and dining room.
Not the hotel's fault but beware of booking taxis to the Zoo as there are no local firms so have to pay a premium - £12 for a miles journey (literally!) before midnight and £25 after!
Breakfast unavailable until 08:30 on Sunday - too late for me (although I did receive a discount) Old fashioned electric shower with very poor flow rate
Friendly staff good location
The noise from the kitchen woke us up at 2330 as we had our windows open due to the heat The shower was not very good
Friendly and attentive staff, great vaule for money, food was excellent. Excellent parking. Would recommend to anyone.
Nothing at all
Everything but the shower
The shower was a dribble of warm water
first impressions were very good. and never faulted. would certainly recommend the hotel to friends.
Excellent food both evening in the pub and breakfast in the morning Plenty of parking
Room was by door and stairs and it was noisy - affected our sleep unfortunately Sheets and blankets on bed - used to a duvet so felt heavy and old fashioned
Food very good, big portion size and menu options. Two mins drive for the zoo & close to the M6. Very clean & good room size
Was a little too out of the way than we thought. Nothing within walking distance.
food clean friendly staff value for money
Lovely stay, friendly staff, great pub food, lovely play area for kids too.
Unfortunately the wifi connection wasn't very strong so couldn't really connect.
Clean room and very spacious. Quite basic but not an issue when I'm travelling solo. The food was good. Nice real ale on tap.
No duvets !! Bed linen and blanket which did smell a little. Haven't stopped in a hotel for years in this country or abroad that still uses blankets. Had to put it in the cupboard. Pillows also could do with changing.
Excellent parking. Large rooms, comfortable with all you could require for a short stay.Nice bar area with Tv for anyone who doesn,t want to miss their football!!!!
staff are very friendly and helpful, polite and did their utmost
we had a meal and i wasn't warned my starter bowl was hot so i burnt my finger on it and sat with it in the ice for the wine.
Lovely room (no 16) had a 4 poster bed in it which was a lovely addition to our stay there. Staff were very friendly and service was excellent even though there were extra busy on the Saturday evening. We had a superb meal Saturday evening and a full English breakfast on Sunday morning which was also excellent. Would happily stay there again and recommend it.
Wifi was virtually impossible for me to log onto on Saturday evening as it was just so busy. It's an open network with key needed, so anyone in the place can use it. Sunday was much better and I was able to log on easily :)
All the staff were polite and helpful. The cleanliness of the room was excellent.
Kept awake by a noise from a motor cutting in and out.
the food the location and the staff
this is the 2nd time on one of my stays and there has been no internet as i need this for my work it puts pressure on me the following day .asked if there was an issue with the internet the answer is no its working fine sort it out guys or lose business.
excellent staff, very happy and efficient.
blankets! and uncomfortable mattress, noisy room
Size of room and storage cleanliness TV size and position Provision of teabags and biscuits ample parking breakfast
no lift access to room not a king size bed
All, bar shower
Shower in room was rubbish!
Only about 800 yards from the function that we were attending. Breakfast was excellent. Hotel was adequate for our needs as we only needed the room to sleep in and the rest of the time we were at the function.
Warn guests of Abbey cars taxis. Tried to charge us £12 for the 2 minute half mile journey from the function venue back to the hotel.
When we got into the room it wasn't that clean. There was a lined basket which held a hair dryer and it had pubic hairs in it. The sheet on the bed was clean but the blanket wasn't clean and I certainly didn't smell clean! It was noisy with people going back to their rooms. In the morning the smell of fried food put us off enough that we didn't stay for breakfast that we had paid for! We won't stay there again.
Reasonably priced hotel with everything we needed, clean, easy check in/check out, cooked breakfast, ample parking. Would recommend.
