“ I liked the informal atmosphere, right on harbour, bar and meals available, brilliant breakfast and much better than a seedy b & B. Sea view from our room with a deep window sill to sit and read and watch the water. Right next to sports centre for swimming, gym etc if the weather had been bad. Public slipway just up the road. ”

Rooms had obviously been renovated recently and were very clean but common areas were still in need of modernisation

the only thing good was the location , near to weymouth and a pub across the road. had a good time in pub across road with music and friendly locals. the room was very shabby and tired. there was no hot water to have a shower in our room. the toilet made a horrible noise every time you flushed it. The bed was rammed up against a window with no head board. The breakfast well i could of got better food at a transport cafe, was slopped up on a plate with dirty cutlery. The whole place needed a good lick of paint.

Friendly, helpful staff. Comfortable bed. Cheerful outdoor picnic benches shared with a dive shop. Room layout was peculiar, with badly-assembled Ikea furniture. TV was virtually invisible from the bed. All room workmanship was rough/poor: tiling, plumbing, workwork, etc. Very cramped corridors with far too many fire doors. A little pricey for such basic accommodation. Location is possibly the worst in all Portland.

The Aqua was clean & tidy,& the staff were very helpful. The location was ok to relax & enjoy the scenery, but if you were on foot the bus service was non-existant. I suppose with the olympics being there did not help things. The plumbing was very noisy & water pressure poor in the shower.

Our family have stayed at the Aqua on numerous occasions the location may not suit all travellers However access is easy and is idea for our visits which is the Sailing Academy We find the hotel which as a budget hotel is extremely clean with comfortable beds and good food proving you don't have to be paying a lot of money to have quality service Thanks We have noted that the Aqua has increased its Tariff in line with all the other hotels in the area in the run up to the Sailing Olympics which is understandable. However it is still excellent value for money

Some may find stairs tricky and the noise of the toilet macerator but we over slept so can't have been that noisy !

The hotel staff was very friendly, location was good overall the stay was good value for money. The room was very hot. We had to keep the windows open whole night but still it was quite hot inside. They should arrange for a fan in these conditions

Noisy. Poor sound proofing. Unpleasant area. I got the feeling I could've stayed in much nicer places in the vicinity for the same price.

Basic facilities, small tv, no telephone, no air con. Not like 3 star hotel expected. Money and value ratio equals low.

Location The Aqua had had recent refurbishments however the standard f finish left a little to be desired, that said as a basic backpacker hostel accommodation it was fair, not convinced that it merits its 3* rating

Staff are excellent, very friendly and i enjoyed a good fish and chips evening meal. Without their input this would have been a total let down. The automatic lights in the dark corridors sometimes fail to activate leaving you in almost pitch black, whilst climbing the steep long stairs the room was ikea decorated and a lot of the fittings were broken/damaged, the masherator system on the water drain was very noisy and all adjoining rooms could be heard, for the money [i paid £80.00 room only] it is well below standard, i would expect to pay about £35-45 for a room like this. Noisy, and i was woken at 3.40am by the boatyard banging about next door. At 5.30am the seagulls start their chorus but as you are on the coast you should expect that !
