It is a pretty Victorian Hotel, well located with plenty of parking. The owner and everyone working there were friendly and helpful. Breakfast was good and held in a lovely little dining room.
We had two different rooms during our stay. We changed rooms because I have trouble climbing stairs, but I have to say our 2nd floor room was quite charming and the wifi worked really well. Changing to a first floor room was easier for me, but the room wasn't quite as charming although it was a 2 room suite, and the wifi didn't work there. My suggestion is to get one of the cute 2nd floor rooms!
good breakfast and close to seafront for a bracing walk.... friendly owner staff, would stay again
bit difficult to plug things in so had to move stuff around
Service was friendly. Breakfast was excellent. The B&B seemed to be a mish mash of various styles which made it interesting.
Unfortunately, Ayr was a pretty boring town.
Friendly and helpful staff and comfortable and relaxed atmosphere. A very pleasant stay and great location
Not a great selection for breakfast
As we were going to Gaiety Theatre which is in centre of Ayr location was very good, no parking fees to pay. Owner and staff very helpful and accommodation of good standard. Excellent breakfast.
Bathroom bit on small side with shower only which is fine for one night but I do like a bath.
The welcome given was friendly, the staff were all smart and could not do enough for us. The breakfast was cooked to order & tasty. Room was clean and did what we needed. If l am needing to stay in ayr again this will be my first place to stay.
Only one thing which is really nothing, carrying the pram 1 flight of stairs.
The welcome we got was first class. Our host was able to recommend a great restaurant five minutes from the hotel which is very central to the town of Ayr The hotel is very clean and our room was very spacious Stayed two nights Breakfast was very good as well, piping hot with hot plates One of my pet hates is a cold plate. Plenty choice of cereals yogurts and grapefruit Would recommend We will certainly be back.
A very warm welcome from Linda and staff who look after their guests and are always willing to help and assist with any enquiries. They have lots of local knowledge which helps greatly when getting about etc. and always have time for a wee chat. Clean comfortable rooms and very enjoyable breakfasts. The location is good for the town centre.
Nothing to report here
Nice and quiet, breakfast was lovely, staff were very friendly, cheerful, and helpful.
Shower went cold after 2 mins. No BBC 1. Said there was a bar, but it was never opened.
- Friendly staff - Excellent fresh breakfast - Quiet room
met owner who let us in room early to leave our stuff without problem owner trustworthy as i paid bill at night & could not remember until spoke to owner in morning at breakfast will certainly book again when next time going to ayr
Close to bus station, close to shops,@close to sea front. Though roly enjoyed my stay at the arrandale, would definitely go back.
The room was clean and had everything you could need.
Two things - the mattress and a slight hiccup in room cleaning. The mattress has seen better nights - springs have gone and very noisy when there is any movement. I saw a review dated in 2013 that mentioned the mattress - it obviously has not been noted. I also found a used teabag in the teapot - and not used by me! The radiator in the bathroom also had a broken thermostat so didn't work.
Helpful staff,very kind
Linda who runs place was so lovely and welcoming...couldn't have asked for anyone nicer...loved the place and had a great stay
Good location close to main town of Ayr for shops and restaurants. Lots of parking available at hotel so no issues. Received a warm and friendly welcome and had a lovely breakfast each morning. Great weather too which helps anywhere!
To make a hot drink required some juggling as the bedside table was to small.
Rooms very sad and in need of up date my room and our friends were dusty and seemed to be just skipped over when cleaned
Arrived in Ayr with no where to stay late in the evening and took the first hotel that came up - it was a really good rate so I expected it to be a bit rough and ready but I was so wrong. Without any doubt this was the best value accommodation I have had in years. Clean and comfortable. Staff cannot do enough to help. Great location near the town centre and sea front. Plenty of free parking. Fabulous breakfast.
I have nothing bad to say about the great little hotel.
private bathroom meant OUTSIDE the room!!!
comfortable room & good breakfast selection. staff were very friendly & helpful
WiFi limited to downstairs, no other complaints
Very quiet location. Spacious room. Tea, coffee and toiletries. Excellent price.
Bathroom a bit cramped but no worse than many more expensive hotels.
Our room was nicely decorated with a comfy bed. The on suit was lovely and clean with a good shower.
Good location for theatre, town and beach. Lovely dining room and good service.
