Overlooking Douglas Bay on the Isle of Man, this hotel has a piano bar, a health club, and a large conservatory that features panoramic sea views.
Score from 320 reviews Very good
The Falcons Nest is in the center of Port Erin, on the south-west coast of the Isle of Man. The restaurant and bar overlook a beautiful, sheltered, sandy harbor and beach.
Score from 241 reviews Very good
We are situated in Douglas the capital of the island and the many attractions of the island are within reach.
Score from 54 reviews Very good
The bed linen was sparkling clean, & the bed very comfortable.
The stated WiFi was nonexistant, unable to be picked up by either my iPad nor my Samsung Gakaxy S3. Extremely disappointing, & perhaps a matter of false advertising The room, #18, was noisy (sounded like dish or clothes washing machines), and the room is in great need of refurbishment, as are the toilet closest to that room, & the bathroom on the top floor. Perhaps better than sleeping at the ferry terminal...
I like the idea the land lady although booked out in the Ashton had found me a 'studio room' else where.. but oh how wrong was i to trust thinking for £60 a night it cant be that bad, 5 stories up converted loft a hole block away from this hotel, no help with bags directions and descriptions very poor. But attempting truthful
Five stories up, had to walk side ways into shower, blinds did not keep light out, TV didnt work, told buttons in twoels, they weren't //argued with not helped, On leaving not despite text message's refunded my 180 GBP. Despite calling before 12 her rules she wanted to take a day for that day also, no remaining balance still.
It had a window.
Dirty, falling apart, dangerous. Kettle flex wrapped in tape-should fail a PAT test. Extinguisher used to prop open a fire door. Woodchip peeling off, shower tiny, mouldy and yellow stained. Was asked if we wanted to upgrade on arrival for an extra £60. £315 for four nights with no parking or breakfast! Had to request a move. New room slightly better but tired and worn and not value for money in any way. Desperately in need of an update and safety review. I expected far better for the money paid. Enjoyed the IOM and the people. This "hotel" was everything a place to stay shouldn't be.
Best breakfast - ever! Looks tired from the outside but inside is ok. Quiet but couldn't sleep due to noisy bed!
Uncomfortable and really noisy bed needs replacing - spoiled a good stay. Difficult to find room.
staff good. not to far from town.food ok. clean wood stay again
a bit dated. room a bit small. walk up hill on way back from town
Great staff and owner. Very friendly and welcoming. Good, clean and comfortable rooms. Nice location.
Clean, tidy, well kept. Just what was needed for a week long break. I thoroughly enjoyed my stay at the Ashton.
Location - slightly out of town (an easy 10 min walk) but quiet and our room had an excellent view of the gardens, promenade and port Staff- very friendly and helpful, actually interested in what you were and had done Lock up shed to put our three bicycles in
Breakfast included (?)
