Comprehensive breakfast, easy parking in the street
Windows was not hermetic (street noise and air coming in), and shower had not pressure at all.
The hosts were lovely and made me feel very welcome. The breakfasts were delicious and eating together with the other guests around the kitchen table was a nice touch. The room was really comfortable and having free WiFi was extremely useful. Being situated slightly out of the city centre meant that it was quieter for sleeping and there was a beautiful walk along the river that came out by Cardiff Castle. Even better, the bus to St Fagan's ran right outside the front door!
No real dislikes - everything was excellent! The shower temperature was difficult to control on a couple of mornings but that can't be helped in an old house like that.
friendly, good breakfast, very helpful calling taxies etc.
Room Bathroom Breakfast
Wifi didnt work to good in Room 2
Avenues is in a nice, friendly neighborhood next to the park and walking distance to Cardiff Castle and other attractions. Beautiful Victorian house and large enough room with comfy bed. Friendly staff and hosts. We really enjoyed our stay.
Our room was next to the kitchen and breakfast area and was quite noisy in the morning. It also did not have a window, which was not a huge problem as we were only there for a couple of cool nights, but if it had been warm or we were planning to spend more time there it might have been a bit claustrophobic.
Staff were extremely welcoming and couldn't do enough for their guests. Extremely comfortable beds and large bathroom
Although on main road it does not stand out and can easily be missed.
Good position near the city but in an attractive area. Excellent continental breakfast with plenty of options. Staff very heplful and obliging.
I had a sepaarte bathroom rather than en suite but as it was immediately next door this was not too much of an issue
One mile to Cardiff castel. Clean and cheap.
Noise of the main road but quiet by night.
a bit far from the city centre
Friendly and helpful manner of proprietors, clean rooms with tea making facilities towels hairdryer etc.
Bed a little hard, front bedroom overlooked busy road
Close to the Bus to the City , very friendly & helpful. Had a Fabulous time in Cardiff loved it all . Speedway was the best .
Nothing to dislike .
Good breakfast, friendly staff, clean room
The bed and the matress was not very comfortable
excellent location, good continental breakfast, friendly people.
room a touch small for two grown men.
The staff was really friendly, especially the woman who works in the morning. I loved the free wifi and it was on a quiet street, which was nice.
The room was tiny. The bathroom was even tinier. There was no water pressure. As in, the water barely trickled out of the shower head. Also, I thought it would be a proper breakfast, but it was just a very basic continental breakfast. A bit disappointing.
Hospitality was good. Not far from CBD.
Cost of room was expensive and we slept next to kitchen, we could follow every conversation and vice versa. So lack of privacy.
Room 1 was lovely and has a very comfy bed. Friendly owners who made you feel very welcome. Evening meal that was recommended - Indian within walking distance was really nice :-)
would have preferred a cooked breakfast - continental was nice and plentiful - I just prefer eggs in the morning.
Willingness to allow access to the kitchen before staff arrived as I had to leave early.
Pretty bath could not be used as it leaked - hence facilities rating is low.
The no 1 bedroom was great for me, with a very comfy bed and suttle bathroom. Parking worked out well.
No dislikes but I would have liked access to a sitting room. I'm a homely person. Also, I prefer a cooked breakfast, however in such a first class kitchen I would have been happy to cook my own.
Clean, comfortable, pleasantly modern.
Slightly strange shower behaviour, although we all had private bathrooms, the water pressure on the top floor meant only one shower seemed to work at once. Just took a little negotiation and planning to get us clean!
The B&B was really great, it`s got everything a hotel would provide, but with more peronal touch. The hosts were great, very friendly, as were other people in the house. The room was very cosy and clean and breakfast included everything you could think of - I was very happy with this choice and would definitely recommend staying there! And there was the Buty park near by, so excellent for someone who likes a morning walk to/from work.
I would have preferred to have a toilet brush available rather than waiting for the cleaning ladies to come and clean. Also the pressure in he shower could have been better, but nothing I wouldn`t get over. Overall it was a very lovely place to stay!
En-suite shower room with good facilities
Convenient location for getting to the city centre, Cardiff bay and out of Cardiff quickly. Friendly/helpful staff. Good wide-ranging continental breakfast. From walking the street, compared to others very well presented outside which was also reflected inside.
There was a dog next door (which is completely out of their control) who had a tendency to bark on occasions.
Beautifully clean,excellent continental breakfast.....
The staff was very friendly and helpful and the breakfast was great. It is about 10 min walking through a very nice park from town centre.
The bed was unconfortable
Made to feel very welcome and a very friendly feel to the whole B&B, lovely rooms and plenty of breakfast choice
