A beautiful Victorian building, this traditional family-run hotel still retains many of its original features; today it offers comfortable accommodation at good-value rates.

First opened in 1925, the Averard boasts 60 comfortable en suite rooms. Each room is well equipped with all the comforts and facilities you need in a restful and relaxing base, including a TV and telephone. Rooms are serviced on a daily basis and the hotel is favoured by its many regular guests for its warm and friendly atmosphere

The hotel is located in the heart of London, close to Marble Arch and the West End, with many tourist attractions within walking distance. Opposite Hyde Park and Kensington Gardens, you can take a relaxing stroll in these beautiful parks just by crossing the road. For those interested in shopping, Oxford Street and Knightsbridge are within easy reach.

The hotel is just metres away from Lancaster Gate London Underground station. The close proximity to the London Underground network offers easy, convenient access to the whole of London and all of its attractions.

The Averard is AA and RAC listed.

Please be advised that the hotel presently has scaffolding covering the front and side façades. This scaffolding will be in place until the end of summer 2008. These works will not inconvenience guests.

Everything was run down and in need of immediate upkeep and/or repair. Ceilings were peeling and crumbling, the rooms and furniture were shabby and, for the most part the whole hotel was a miserable excuse for a guest lodging. I would not consider staying at the Averard Hotel again in the future.	5

Staff were friendly, pleasant, helpful and relaxed. It's not really something that I did not like but this is clearly a building which had a grand past and whose glory has faded somewhat.
