Great location, freindly staff
I first encountered this hotel when we dropped into it for afternoon tea, and immediately wanted to stay there. Several years later, I've fulfilled that dream. The decor is unique and gorgeous - we felt as if we'd stepped into a Poirot set. Price is very reasonable, and they even found me gluten free bread for breakfast.
Didn't sleep well on the first night due to the duvet having a topsheet under it, which meant I couldn't wrap my cold feet in the duvet (the rest of me was really hot!). Pulled the sheet off the next night - if you have a duvet cover, you really don't need a sheet! Everything else was lovely.
A wonderful artdeco hotel experience. Attention to detail is incredible. Very clean and comfortable
Service & good quality
The food in the restaurant was excellent, and the staff were very friendly too.
staff very friendly and helpful. rooms beautifully art deco and clean food very good breakfast very good should be more than a 3* rating! ~
nothing to dislike
Can't get closer to the airfield for events. Large rooms by budget hotel standards. Free Wi Fi. Retro decor.
Expensive continental breakfast. No food available Sunday after lunch service. Reception staff insouciance. Noisy main road adjacent.
Lovely hotel in a great location if you are attending the airshow. Good sized rooms - very clean. Bed very comfortable and it was very quiet. Decor is very quirky and lots of interesting this to look at.
Plastic glasses for wine in the dining room. Think this was due to the Air Show being on that day, but didn't ask the staff.
There was not enough staff to cater for the breakfast rush & there wasn't enough crockery at breakfast .This my only gripe.
Heating in room
We love the locality of The Aviator. When the weather is good like sitting outside and watching the small private aircraft come and go.
Spotlessly clean, helpful friendly staff, good breakfast.
Not being advised that my room was a smoking room
Love the Art Deco details everywhere. Comfortable rooms. Great breakfast with a view over the aerodrome. Liked it so much we went back there 2 weeks later.
Access to the roof terrace closed for Health & Safety reasons. Would be a lovely spot for a pre dinner cocktail
It is a very nice Hotel the food was good we were well looked after , being X RAF liked all the little extras touches about aeroplane`s also the museum was nice to have a look around
Lovely to see the planes. Enjoyed the art-deco settings and furnishings. Food was good both breakfasts and meals. Decent sized bath in en-suite.
Noise seemed to be the problem:- had to move rooms due to some sort of machinery going on and off all night. Very noisy locals frequenting the bar during eating times.
Location and general ambience. 20's Art Deco and ideal for interest in flying. Also food was excellent.
We didn't find that there was anything to not like.
Location is excellent, Nice art deco style, mostly clean and tidy standard rooms, price includes breakfast at weekend
Details: loos by reception are appalling. Towel rail was loose, a whacky plastic volume control in the bathroom - not remotely art deco and which did nothing!
Clean and functional Organised and friendly staff Decent breakfast
Very hot - but that's because it was 29c outside!
Fantastic interior and position. Very clean with generous size rooms. A lovely change from a normal hotel.
Food poor and disappointing sadly letting the side down which was such a shame for a great hotel overall.
A really clean hotel, rooms were spacious and well maintained. Facilities were good including food and drinks.
Our room overlooked the road which was noisy during the hot nights as there was no air conditioning so we had to keep the window open. The secure parking barrier was not working so everyone had access to the carpark.
I thought that the good at the aviator was beautiful, everything was fresh and well prepared. The room it's self was quite basic but it's decor was quirky and made up for this.
I thought the parking situation was a little right and could have done with an overspill car park of some sought, or sights to where it is of they already have one.
the location was great
we would not visit again because the of the noise from other guests late at night, doors were being slammed and loud voices in the car park at 2 in the morning, so a very poor nights sleep. In the morning trying to check out and the staff were more interested in talking to each other than serving the guests. Also the room prices were inflated because it was the grand prix weekend- we paid £125 a room instead of the usual £89.I booked this hotel because of the good reviews so perhaps we were very unlucky?
location clean different nice views quiet at night
no food sunday nights
