A great place to stay if you want something different from the usual chain hotel experience. Fantastic, whimsical place that has real heart and a great feel to it.
It's a very art deco style hotel, nice food, polite staff in restaurant
Very uncomfortable bed, extremely loud road noise. If you asked the staff for anything unexpected it felt like too much trouble
Me and my boyfriend booked into this hotel as we were at Rockingham Speedway for the BTCC. Apart from being a bit difficult to find due to road closures etc, we couldn't have asked for anymore. Staff were very friendly and helpful, the food in the restaurant was very nice and it was overall a very pleasant stay :-)
The only bad thing was the walls were very thin. You could hear everything going on and the noise from people up and down the hallway was very loud.
Unique Quality of the food Prices of the bar reasonable
Rooms were clean, Beds were comfortable. Bathroom was spacious and laid out brilliantly. Hot chocolate was served in the room alongside the tea (of which you had a selection of green teas) and coffee. Breakfast was fresh and buffet style (only included with the room at the weekend). Check out was later than most places.
Location, Parking, Restaurant,
a really nice clean and quiet hotel out of the way but still convenient for Northampton and Wellingborough
Menu was a little limited, but food excellent. More choice possibly required and a selection of dishes to suit the bar area rather than just the restaurant.
Great location, freindly staff
I first encountered this hotel when we dropped into it for afternoon tea, and immediately wanted to stay there. Several years later, I've fulfilled that dream. The decor is unique and gorgeous - we felt as if we'd stepped into a Poirot set. Price is very reasonable, and they even found me gluten free bread for breakfast.
Didn't sleep well on the first night due to the duvet having a topsheet under it, which meant I couldn't wrap my cold feet in the duvet (the rest of me was really hot!). Pulled the sheet off the next night - if you have a duvet cover, you really don't need a sheet! Everything else was lovely.
A wonderful artdeco hotel experience. Attention to detail is incredible. Very clean and comfortable
Couldn't park in car park as full No hot food after 6.30 even though hotel was full with people from the air show Warm wine Over priced cold food
Service & good quality
didn't get a chance to find out
Arrived on Sunday morning on the day of the local Airshow and was unable to get into car park . Was informed by security that car park was full of staff cars and would remain so until well into the evening . After more attempts to park and check in we gave up and went elsewhere ! I realise this was a big event but the customer car park should be just that and staff should have a separate area . Found the reception staff rather rude and condescending and will not be returning after this waste of time and money
The food in the restaurant was excellent, and the staff were very friendly too.
staff very friendly and helpful. rooms beautifully art deco and clean food very good breakfast very good should be more than a 3* rating! ~
nothing to dislike
Can't get closer to the airfield for events. Large rooms by budget hotel standards. Free Wi Fi. Retro decor.
Expensive continental breakfast. No food available Sunday after lunch service. Reception staff insouciance. Noisy main road adjacent.
Lovely hotel in a great location if you are attending the airshow. Good sized rooms - very clean. Bed very comfortable and it was very quiet. Decor is very quirky and lots of interesting this to look at.
Plastic glasses for wine in the dining room. Think this was due to the Air Show being on that day, but didn't ask the staff.
There was not enough staff to cater for the breakfast rush & there wasn't enough crockery at breakfast .This my only gripe.
Heating in room
We love the locality of The Aviator. When the weather is good like sitting outside and watching the small private aircraft come and go.
Spotlessly clean, helpful friendly staff, good breakfast.
Not being advised that my room was a smoking room
Love the Art Deco details everywhere. Comfortable rooms. Great breakfast with a view over the aerodrome. Liked it so much we went back there 2 weeks later.
Access to the roof terrace closed for Health & Safety reasons. Would be a lovely spot for a pre dinner cocktail
It is a very nice Hotel the food was good we were well looked after , being X RAF liked all the little extras touches about aeroplane`s also the museum was nice to have a look around
Lovely to see the planes. Enjoyed the art-deco settings and furnishings. Food was good both breakfasts and meals. Decent sized bath in en-suite.
Noise seemed to be the problem:- had to move rooms due to some sort of machinery going on and off all night. Very noisy locals frequenting the bar during eating times.
