Stylish rooms, good hairdryer, with a mirror near a socket. Excellent breakfast. Welcoming host, no food available on arrival as a function on, we were warned about this beforehand and were recommended some nearby places to eat. Good bed, sheets and towels. Pretty village.
The semi opaque glass in the bathroom door, maybe it's just me but I prefer a bit more privacy in the bathroom. Having said that, it wouldn't put me off returning.
Off the beaten tourist path Excellent dining Unique B&B option, better than chain hotels
Comfort of beds Lovely soft towels Good food
Noise from what sounded like a heating system. Either being powered on or excessive heating of water. Stopped at 10.30pm. Poor supply of tea/milk in room. only one individual carton of milk. I think this was an unintentional error as carton appeared sealed but was empty. Asked for more, but this was sour by morning.Another chair in bedroom would have been appreciated.
Really loved this place, the staff were very helpful and friendly, the rooms very contemporary and comfortable and the breakfast sooooo tasty!
Great service, excellent restaurant
Originally looked for a breakfast venue prior to an early departure from Biggin Hill. To my surprise,The Bakery popped up as they now offer rooms/B&B. This restaurant in a quiet village setting but not too far off the beaten track was a big favourite of ours (prior to kids!) when it first opened and seeing that Andrew was still the owner/manager I immediately booked the Junior Suite. A lovely light n spacious twin aspect room, with contemporary bathroom( great shower!) Short walk to dinner(and bed!), which was just as good as we remembered. Reasonably priced menu and a carefully selected wine list to suit all tastes and budgets. Will certainly not leave it as long before our next visit.
Room was very comfortable, clean, and bathroom great. Breakfast was good.
It was very noisy as there was a birthday party, the music finished at 12.45am. But to be fair we had been informed prior to our arrival .Also the stairs to the rooms are very steep and one of the hand rails was loose and needed fixing.
Very comfortable room. Friendly staff and excellent food in a lovely location. Such a pleasant change from chain hotels.
The bed was very comfortable, the room was clean and the breakfast was good. The owner, Andrew was very nice and helpful.
The staff are really lovely and very attentive. The rooms are neat, clean and nicely decorated. It is a lovely location. I had a very relaxing weekend. Thank you. Will recommend and return if the opportunity arises.
The only fault was the humming noise of some sort of generator which woke me up.
We spent two nights here at the end of July 2014 to attend a family occasion in nearby Westerham. We had no prior knowledge of The Bakery although we thought we knew the area well, but were encouraged by the reviews. We were made extremely welcome on arrival and formed the impression that nothing was too much trouble. Our room was a former sitting room in the original dwelling and afforded views on three sides around the village green, a very attractive setting. Décor and fittings were of high quality; everything worked. The bathroom in particular was first class and the bed was very comfortable. A splendid breakfast was freshly cooked - no menu, just order whatever you would like, we were told. We were aware that several of the guests were regulars and they spoke well of the good service they regularly receive. Highly recommended.
The stairs are a little narrow. May be awkward for the less able. There can be some noise around 7 am from local delivery vehicles at the nearby businesses, but don't let this put you off. It is a minor irritation.
Location was lovely, great pub across the road and the owner of the Bakery was very pleasant and helpful. The room was furnished to a very high standard and the bed was very large and extremely comfortable. Bathroom was fitted out to a very high specification with lovely walk in shower and underfloor heating. Breakfast was amazing too!
Great service Lovely room Clean Food very good Staff friendly & very helpful So quiet when you was in your room, we didn't realise there was other guests staying Lovely village Loved every minute of our stay
We love the bakery! Everything about it, the location, the amazing rooms, the welcome, the breakfast! We've been many times and will keep returning!
quiet location, friendly personal service, good value for money, and very clean. Restaurant did not disappoint. Good parking. Breakfast very good, you name it and you can have it! The owner worked tirelessly.
more shelf space in bathroom would have been appreciated.
Efficient, polite and friendly staff. First class breakfast made to order. Comfortable room with v.g.facilities. Peaceful surroundings.
The absence of a breakfast menu allowing the widest possible choice.
Rear entrance looking somewhat "tired"
The boss and neighbours
The stairs would be difficult for someone with mobility problems
I booked a double room as my bf and I were in the area for a wedding. I phoned the day before and asked for an early check in and this wasn't a prob. The room was lovely exactly per the website photos and spotless. We were asked what time we would like to come down for breakfast and told anytime would be fine. We made it down for 11 to be asked what would we like - we can make anything. We both had full English breakfasts which was delicious. The guy that runs the place is so accommodating and friendly. Really happy with my stay!

A very friendly host made us feel absolutely welcome and spoilt. Remembering the little important (but often forgotten) things that make a good host. Taking an interest, providing local information and advice. Even and remembering our food & drink preferences - a lovely surprise. The room was very welcoming, stylish to the detail, very comfy bed, pillows & bedlinen, tea making facilities, sound proof windows which overlooked the lively centre village green, gorgeous bathroom & shower & great food. The rooms are all very newly refurbished and very beautiful. The bar has a welcoming homely but modern & clean feel. The restaurant is very stylish too and the service impeccable. At weekends it gets the tight side of lively and one feels very much welcome in this small village. Parking facilities nearby. Location in very beautiful surroundings of West Sussex (High Wealds) and very close to Kent. Both have lovely & lively small villages with an eclectic mix of pretty shops & there are several gardens and interesting houses just round the corner (e.g. Chartwrll, Hever Castle, Emmets Garden, etc.)
Very hard to say..... Nothing really.... Perhaps a word of caution for the not-able bodied: they would have difficulty with the stairs. For everyone else it's easy.

The newly modernised room was very well appointed, spacious and had every comfort. The walk in shower and en-suite was a delight to use.
