Great location, nice and quiet just outside Torquay. Friendly staff. Nice Garden. Great bed. Breakfast was pretty good.

The hotel is in need of a bit attention, the carpets are a bit dated and threadbare and the bathroom we had needed a new sink (cracked). Bathpanel needed a good clean and the tiles on the wall needed reattaching. Car park was crowded both nights we stayed I had to park on the road outside.

Good location Nice lounge area and gardens

Hotel needs some serious updating - decor is very tired. Many of the bedrooms are dark with terrible views and too small. Walls are paper thin and we were kept awake by snoring from next door and doors banging in the morning. Carpets in the bathrooms which are really unhygenic! Only had lukewarm water whilst we were there.

Staff very kind, great breakfast and nice location

The single room I stayed in had a terrible matress. I could feel all the springs. I couldn't sleep for the whole night. Fortunately, I was able to move to a double bedroom having a decent matress. Don't go for single room.

Location was great right next to a beach and only a short walk from the town center. Garden was beautiful and staff were more than happy to help with anything.

The rooms needed a good dust and modernizing wouldn't go a miss but all in all a good hotel.

Me and my partner visited the hotel balmoral for two nights in July. We were lucky with the weather so made the most of the beautiful garden and bar. The location was ideal as beach was a 2 minute walk and town centre was a short walk as well. The food served was also up to high standard and very reasonable in price. We never had to wait long at all for our food to be served.

Unfortunately due to the nice weather our room became extremely hot and stuffy so could really have done with air-con or at least a fan.

The location is just perfect. All food to high standard and something looked forward to. If you want a quiet comfortable abode for a few days to unwind this is it . Can't see why this is only a 7.3 .

Not too far from Town Centre. Within walking distance of restaurants if you do not wish to eat in.

We were only staying B&B, took them a while to decide which room we were in - the bedding smelt damp, window wouldn't open, bathroom musty due to lack of fresh air Each morning at breakfast we were told we couldn' t sit at certain tables because we were B&B.

I had to leave the hotel 1 night early as there was a mouse in the bedroom. I complained and the owner treated me like an idiot and a liar. The hotel is dirty, the condition of the room is dreadful and the owner has no interpersonal skills at all -he simply doesn't care. My standards are high and I can't believe how badly I was treated. I have also reported the hotel to the local tourist office so that others don't have to experience this place. I am sure you won't put this on your website which makes your request for information on my stay pointless

Half of the staff were very friendly & helpful. The location, quiet, easy walk to town, easy walk to beach. Garden & sea views (as in Fawlty Towers)

Half the staff were unfriendly & unhelpful. Couldn't get afternoon tea after 4 pm! Couldn't get breakfast before 8:30 am. Room was small - luckily we didn't have a cat

The young man on reception was very good. sorted out the curtain as soon as he was informed.

There was no milk with the tea and coffee in room, curtain rail fell down when i tried to close them. The evening meal was very disappointing, the deep fried breaded plaice was soggy and tasted of nothing, sweet was ok but would not order again and the cheeseboard was nothing special.

Breakfast was good but would have liked it to be a little later perhaps till 10 am (9.30 a bit early for elderly person who is very slow in the mornings)

Room at the back, no out look and people opposite were very noisy so had to keep window closed and a noise from a boiler possibly at night No grab rail over bath difficult for elderly person to get into a bath walk in shower preferable lots of stairs no lift despite request for room to be easy access for elderly person Trees in the garden need a trim to be able to see the coast shame it was hidden and some cushions on garden chairs would be very welcome 5 course meal only on offer in the evening would have liked an option for just one or 2 courses at a cheaper rate again, elderly person could not cope with 5 course meal so had to go out and find alternative each evening Was not made aware of use of health facilities available until the last day Maybe an info pack in the room would help??

Great hotel which is just a few minutes from Meadfoot beach. Bedrooms are light and spacious. Staff are extremely courteous. Bed and breakfast was excellent value for the price we paid. Hotel grounds are very well kept.
