We were somewhat shocked that the bar bill and other expenses had automatically come of the credit card that we used to pay for the room. We hadn't even had a chance to check whether it was correct and we weren't asked how we would like to settle these expenses. We understood that this wasn't possible without us checking and agreeing to pay for it. We would have liked the opportunity to have settled our expenses with cash. Please can you explain if this is standard procedure as we don't this it is quite ethical. If this had of been a business trip and we had paid for the room with a company credit card we most certainly would not have wanted the bar bill to have been automatically settled with that card!!!!
location, food and helpful staff
Bedroom very comfortable unfortunately not enough time to enjoy leisure facilities
Clean hotel, good facilities, excellent location - everything was very close by. Breakfast was brilliant.
Rooms comfortable, food very good, staff friendly smart helpful.
Staff so friendly welcoming facilities fantastic rooms comfortable very clean situated in a good area to access town etc
Very helpful staff and very welcoming
The conjoining door to the next room as they were smoking in their room and it was coming underneath the door
The rooms were good, clean and spaciuos.
Chalet Room walls are very thin.. could hear next door making a cup of tea...
Staff and facilities were excellent and you couldn't fault it! Im not a tea/coffee drinker so was thrilled when I discovered hot chocolate, fruit tea and biscuits in our room Good storage space and lovely decor
The private function music was quite disruptive and continued past midnight, which made it difficult to hear the television
Facilities were great, the food was of high quality. Personnel were very friendly. Completely satisfied with my room and its quality. Was warm, which I loved.
Arrived late so was glad kitchen stayed open late, to get such good food and real ale was an unexpected bonus. Upgraded to a better? room so cannot vouch for standard rooms. Nicely appointed, mostly comfortable. Decent pool for a hotel.
Bar closed promptly at 11 however. Mattress felt a bit worn. Garden view turned out to be an industrial estate.
it was cheap to book
the food was terrible and very over priced. we had a voucher for two courses but the food was so bad we refused the second course. when we complained there was no effort to make it right.
Lovely room, great welcome. Good value for money. Would stay again
Very attentive staff lovely hotel rooms very comfortable.
My first room smelt of Fahd however one phone call and was moved to a lovely clean room. Can't help other guests bad habits but loved the helpful and efficient solution.
Restaurant and bar staff great, especially Reece, swimming pool lovely and warm. Food freshly cooked good standard.
Beds hard, room quite cold, although it was one of the coldest nights, unable to adjust heating it just switched off, we were not in the main building.
Price, but that's all it was worth!
Case hardened bacon, hard cold poached eggs, awful noise from loudspeakers, it was not music just a continuous wailing noise. Failed to deliver my Times in morning Got the bill wrong and had to reduce it. Not impressed
Hotel chosen on basis of location & price and what a great choice - exceeded our expectations- lovely room, great bar & restaurant and the staff were without exception really great. Will almost certainly stay here again.
What's not to like?
It was a convenient location for us. Other than that the room was spacious (we had a corner connected room), the room was clean, comfortable bed. The indoor pool was good (we didn't try the outdoor pool as it was cold outside but it looked inviting). The meal that we had in the hotel was delicious.
There are two separate saunas one is in the female changing room and the other one is in the men's room - It would be good to have mix sauna that the couples could enjoy more time together.
Gymnasium Indoor Pool Wi-Fi at times and/or certain areas
wafer thin walls, noise next door breakfast expensive Wi-Fi reception in room fair way to walk into town - over a mile anyway.
The bar area
Excellent facilities, nice relaxing stay.
Pillows were a little hard.
Great fitness facilities
Big comfy bed! Lots of space in the room. Free upgrade into the hotel, 1st floor Price included extras not expected, including free use of the gym and health centre Good wifi in the room, plenty of free parking
Alarm went off when we were in the shower. Later we found out that this was a planned test. It would have been nice to have been told at check in.
