Polite, welcoming staff; Room was large with a huge bed, clean bathroom, tolietries, tea/coffee making facilities and TV. Overlooking a quiet corner of a car park, we had a great nights sleep and a very pleasant stay.
Exterior may put people off - very dated - it looked like 1970s Butlins from the outside! The location, whilst great for drivers, is a bit out the way for pedestrians. Restaurant and breakfast options were rather expensive.
THE BEDS WERE TOO SOFT
Clean airy room, very comfortable beds.Balcony a nice bonus. Friendly helpful staff. 15/20 minute walk into Barnstable town centre.Restaurant staff efficient and friendly.
Food was very poor.Breakfast was edible but tasteless. The one meal we had in the bar area was shameful soup was inedible, salted to oblivion and the omelette was poorly cooked and unappetising.Daughters roast was OK but pudding dire. Not cheap either. However Sunday roasts are popular and we were informed award winning!
The pool area on a sunny day is like being on holiday abroad, the room we stayed in was light & airy and the shower has to be one of the best I have ever used. Just a 15 minute stroll into town.
Friendly and helpful staff Excellent bar food at reasonable prices Cleanliness of rooms Free Wifi Ample car parking
Breakfast price (too expensive) Long corridors No lift
Easy Parking Relaxing Environment Lovely Pool Very nice Staff
Poor noise insulation between rooms.
The staff The location The cleanliness The swimming pools The dining room The beautiful fresh flower arrangements throughout the hotel
Our mattress was too sloft for us (Personal preference)
Great food ,and service
Noisy pool area , kids on holiday. Slightly dated feel to the garden area , and rooms, kinda, 1980,s
Polite & helpful staff, location easy to find, ample parking, food good that is reasonably priced, comfortable bed, spacious rooms
Doors banging from neighbouring rooms when other guests went in or out of rooms, children running up and down the corridors
All the staff, from reception to pool attendants to waiters, worked really hard to ensure we had a lovely break, we were struck by the attention to detail and how welcoming the hotel was to children. Loved the pool. Fantastic hotel experience. Great room with balcony.
Facilities were good. Staff were very nice.
Rooms very tired. Towels seen better days more like face washers. Had to ask for coffee etc.
The wife and me lived our stay here. Clean comfortable. Plenty to do. Staff are only too pleased to help. The bed and room were really comfy. We will definitely stay here again.
The pool facilities.
The double bed was very small and cramped, not even as a standard double.
Service in dinning room want great and bill was wrong three times.
kids eat and drink free. the bed was very good. ease of access to pools
bar shut to early.very long walk to the room.no lifts !!! very long wait for food. most staff were very slow. no decent area for smokers.
Swimming pools, indoor and out. Staff wonderful. Great food both for breakfast and in the evening. Kids club vouchers meant free meals for the children and free soft drinks at the bar as well as free icecream at the pool bar.
our family room for 2 adults and 2 children was quite small and once the 2 z-beds were up for the children there was very little floor space left.
The staff were excellent and very helpful, great facilities and indoor pool perfect for young children. Free icecreams and lollies for the children was very good extra!
Our room faced the car park and was a bit stuffy in the heat! Worth paying a bit extra to get a room with a balcony I think!
Excellent facilities. Outdoor pool delightful.
Location wasn't the best but suited us.
The staff were excellent. Very friendly, very helpful and knowledgable. The indoor swimming pool was a good size (the outdoor one was closed) and the opening hours excellent. The food in the restuarant was very good. No problem with parking and the wifi signal very good.
The changing areas in the leisure centre was small and grubby. The "relaxing room" seemed to be a big waste of space and energy. It should be re designed to accommodate saunas which are now in the small changing rooms. This would give a little more space for changing (saunas are very small) and would also allow couples of the opposite sex to sit together. The hotel is on an industrial estate and as the weather was bad on our visit, a car had to be used all the time. The main restuarant overlooks the car park and would benefit from some screening - even plants in tubs.
Layout of rooms around pool and garden
Food, quality, friendly helpful staff.
Room smelt a bit damp and bed wasn't great (soft mattress ).
Swimming pool especially outside heated. Kids club ie unlimited ice cream and drinks.
Room too hot, air con would have helped.
Lovely clean friendly hotel. Great for kids.
Very disappointed at location. Nealy turned around before going in. Glad I didn't as had a great time.
Lovely clean, nicely refurbished room.
No lift. Poor WiFi, poor TV reception. Staff very slow replenishing continental breakfast selection even when asked repeatedly to do so on both days we stayed.
