Check in was the bar of the pub below. I felt very intimidated as a lone female by the atmosphere as I checked in. The room was shabby and smelled strongly of cigarettes. I did not feel safe or happy in the room so stayed elsewhere that night.

Clean, spacious rooms Comfy bed Friendly staff Easy access even at night with a coded door

Exterior of the building gives a bad first impression Old single glazed windows meant the room was cold at night, and quite noisy from the street and train line

Great area to get to both cricket and football. With your own mini kitchen in the room you can sort picnic food. Staff was nice friendly. it was clean and I will go back. The price was very good.

Loved easy access to trams during the day but they can be loud at night.

the self catering facilities available in our room

Having to leave window open because of the heat and therefore having to suffer the noise of the passing trains. A fan in the room would be helpful with this,

    free parking included

milks in the tea and coffee were off so couldn't make a hot drink; shower was cold; blinds hung but not a good quality so the light is straight in as soon as sun rises and they have gaps so people can still see in window if changed in room; very noisy room as on the front of a busy road.

the room itself was fine. Double bed, television, en suite bathroom with shower, side room, tea and coffee facilities. The staff member that we did speak to was very friendly. No problem with noise in our room (but we were on the third floor).

These are basically rooms above a pub, on several floors. You pick up a key from whoever is at the bar and that's pretty much the only person you'll ever see, you check out by putting the key in a metal box and they simply debit your credit card. So there's no service of any kind (and there's definitely no breakfast). That's not in itself a problem, and our stay (one night) was fine, but it's good to be aware of!

Good atmosphere with locals in bar.

No reception. Basically a pub with rooms. With no catering. No staff on duty outside licensing hours. Tired decor. Very narrow and steep stairs. No curtains and blinds that didn't work. Could have got better accommodation for less money elsewhere. E.g. Premier Inn or Travel Lodge.
