Th e room was very clean and linen smelt fresh. Decor was clean inc. bathroom.
Outside of the building was in need of attention. The place was locked on arrival (which was earlier than the Hotel requested.) Someone came ASAP and booked us in but it was uncomfortable entering a deserted building. By late evening the bar was full and there was much smoking. Clients were very noisy leaving the premises and there was much foul language outside our window till way into the small hours. It was Sat and it may be different on other nights.
Room was clean, and staff very helpful and polite.
Owner was very friendly and went out of his way to help.
No food available but understand this was temporary while kitchen and hotel was being upgraded.
Friendly staff, short walk into town, Parking onsite. comfortable room.
Going to the room, you could be forgiven for thinking you'd made a big mistake, but the room was actually perfectly good.
New bed Oven, hob & sink The bathroom and bed were clean Colleagues had a better experience in their rooms
Rattling original windows Dirty window frames Dirty blinds Weak shower 5 minutes for warm water to come through Tramline outside
Only stayed for one evening. The staff were friendly, room was basic, but clean and did the job. Quite reasonably priced and very near to the metrolink. Would stay again.
Would've liked to check in a bit earlier than 5pm, but later found that it's available on request
The fridge in the room
The whole place looks very tatty and rundown on the exterior. The interior is pretty similar til u get to the rooms. They are better, cleanliness was good in room too
Friendly help staff .comfortable room very clean happily stay again and recommend.
They let us in early and staff friendly and helpful
Head board was hanging off the bed blinds were broke no curtains people could see in off the street in bedroom and bathroom toilet seat broke shower had meldew in it room very small drafty windows and could hear all the traffic took ages to heat water up
Hardly a power shower No real fast offered
Friendly Staff Clean room good facilities Good value budget hotel
Pleasantly surprised at the cleanliness and freshness of the room.
The check-in is really late (5pm), although I did get in at 4pm, but I was hanging around for ages without being able to contact anyone.
The bar looked seemed very pleasant but I went to bed at 18.35 and didn't wake up until 07.15 the next morning. Had come up from Slough for the cricket so was tired. Room was very comfortable and had everything that I needed.
Whilst the hotel is largely in a poor state of repair, the current owners create a pleasant feeling and I would be pleased to see The Barrington returned to it's former glory in time.
Outside of the hotel needs serious refurbishment, very dated and shabby. Rooms very clean and comfortable. Noise from the trams and trains would be reduced if the windows were to be replaced.
Location, Room and Cleanliness
Noise from the trains
Very friendly good location very cheap will defiantly go again good laugh with locals
Staff very friendly and helpful, nice clean room with clean bedding towels etc. parking good, closeness to trains and town excellent.
Train noise throughout the night was very loud even with ear plugs in.
Check in was the bar of the pub below. I felt very intimidated as a lone female by the atmosphere as I checked in. The room was shabby and smelled strongly of cigarettes. I did not feel safe or happy in the room so stayed elsewhere that night.
Clean, spacious rooms Comfy bed Friendly staff Easy access even at night with a coded door
Exterior of the building gives a bad first impression Old single glazed windows meant the room was cold at night, and quite noisy from the street and train line
Great area to get to both cricket and football. With your own mini kitchen in the room you can sort picnic food. Staff was nice friendly. it was clean and I will go back. The price was very good.
Loved easy access to trams during the day but they can be loud at night.
Cheerful place,handy for everything!
Sadly no food in the building.
It was nice and clean
had I of known this was also a pub I would not have booked this, also there is a train line right next to it which my room overlooked
It was next to the trmas allowing easy access to Manchester city centre. It was close to Altrincham city centre where there were a number of nice restaurants
bed was comfy. good easy to use shower.. tea coffee facilities.
toilet seat loose. overhead lights flickering didn.t like the stairwell. apart from arriving never saw anybody but the cleaner. noise from trains. no air conditioning
Comfy Bed and Pillow
Could hardly get anything on the TV (no Channel 1-5). Window opend about 3 inches and room was boiling hot. Noice from main road so shut window but made no difference still as loud. Blind pulls didnt work so pulled manually but so old didnt keep out any light.
