Overlooking the historic village of Norton St Philip, just minutes from Bath, this beautiful Georgian building offers free Wi-Fi, free parking and luxurious four-poster rooms. In rolling Somerset countryside, Norton St Philip is a very pretty, charming little village, 6 miles from Bath, Wells, Longleat, Stonehenge and Cheddar Gorge. Mixing charm, privacy and comfort, The Plaine is named after the location of the 1685 Pitchfork Rebellion. England's oldest inn, The George, is just 23 steps from the front door and The Fleur, 17 steps from the front door, also offers excellent food. Rooms have four-poster beds and private shower facilities. All rooms also have TVs and tea/coffee. In the summer, you can relax in the yard or have coffee in the courtyard. Breakfasts at The Plaine are made with fresh local produce and are served in the 16th-century dining room, which boasts original wood beams. Hosts excellent, very welcoming, informative & attentive. Breakfast lovely, fresh & great quality. Carpet in bathroom, most unhygeinic & traffic noise, very disturbing so close to bedroom window. Parking very limited, had to use pub opposite, not suitable for anyone without full mobility. Major traffic issues with village.

The owners Giles & Steph were very friendly and helpful, the B&B was quirky and old. They accepted our dogs which is always a plus for us. No problems with this guest house.

Justina was very friendly and efficent and came to check us in when we arrived early. The breakfast was lovely. the room was a lovely yellow and when the sun shone made the room bathed in a beautiful light. The location, close to two wonderful old pubs.

The hostess was great, very welcoming and cooked a lovely breakfast. The place could be great. Our bedroom was a bit shabby, in need of redecoration and updating. The en-suite needs updating, I hate old carpet in the shower room. Windows could do with a clean. Not worthy of 4 stars maybe 2 .

The location was wonderful. Also the atmosphere of the entire building is very special. it seems to be living centuries ago, with the accommodations of a very well updated house. Justina, the person who attended us is more than excellent. Breakfast was generous enough. Nothing negative to be mentioned.

Lovely clean rooms & facilities. Justina was a bright friendly hostess, providing us with local information and lovely breakfast made to order. 2 good pubs across the road for dinners.

I like the fact that it was in a little village but the room was way overpriced for what it offers. This is not a 4star B&B at all. It was not particularly clean and there was even carpet in the toilet We had a small room on the noisy road, and they charged us £15 for an inflatable matress for our son. very dissapointing

Very comfy room & good breakfast. On arrival I found a note on the front door saying the owners were a minute away and asking one to telephone on a number supplied. It was at this point I realised there was no phone signal wahtever. I had to drive up the road out of the village to get a signal. Since I had several calls to make in the evening I was obliged to repeat this process… I therefore altered my booking to just one night instead of the two I had originally planned. So - not great for Vodafone users. For others it would be a great place to stay….
