We enjoyed the new and improved food menus, we ate an evening meal which was top notch, for quality and value, the breakfast menu at the bay horse is more varied than last year but the quality is just as good, they use quality local ingredients. The staff at the bay horse are friendly and very helpful. My wife enjoyed her afternoon pot of tea and slice of lemon drizzle cake.
There was nothing we did not like.
Very friendly landlady in a warm local community pub. Superb breakfasts, and good evening pub menu. Brilliant king sized bed.
The pub sign creaked all one night in the wind! Steep narrow stairs to the second floor.
Friendly helpful staff
Good evening meal
Steep stairs - no lift
Staff were lovely and the breakfast was delicious
Few cobwebs in the room. Shower was too low down. Woken up at 3:30 am by what sounded like someone moving furniture!
coal fires in bar area. Nice view from bedroom. private areas to sit in bar.
kitchen closed, so we had to eat else where. drinks were more expensive, perhaps overcharged.
Coal fires and good beer and excellent breakfast
Pub sign outside room 1 window needs oiling :)
Proper fires in the bars, proper well kept beer, friendly staff and well cooked pub grub. All in all good value for our short visit.
Good food fab location lovely staff.
Bathroom cold no heating.no windows blinds.
The hotel is beautifully located, giving direct access to the town community and many walks through beautiful, unspoilt countryside. The room is very well appointed, with large, comfortable bed and plenty of storage space. The breakfast was second to none, equally so was the dinner menu and bar offerings.
That we only spent two nights here!
Location , helpfulness of staff, food, room , entertainment, we will defiantly return
The friendliness of both the staff and the towns folk
There was nothing to dislike
We had an evening meal on the first night and the included breakfast, both we're very enjoyable.
Rooms are not large but adequate for sleeping, clean and tidy. Shower head needed minor repair. Walls are thin so you don't want noisy neighbours.
Room carpet was in need of a thorough clean (covered in animal hairs!)
Position was very good. Staff excellent nothing too much trouble. Breakfast and evening meal very good. Bedroom good (size no7).
Could do with a bit of a makeover.
Great location, good beer and very nice breakfast. Bed was very comfortable.
The whole hotel was in need of cleaning and decorating. The bedroom was very cold especially the bathroom. A small electric fan heater was provided to take the chill off.
Gargoyles at the bar watching you as if you have 2 heads
terrible place to stay, a very rowdy pub and very basic rooms. Loud music until 1pm in the morning.
The Bay Horse is in a great position and has a welcoming atmosphere and staff. The open fire in the bar was lovely on arrival and when we come down for breakfast. We had one nights bed and breakfast and the breakfast was delicious. Thank you ladies
Just wished we had been able to stay longer, we will definitely be back.
Great location in the centre of Masham, with 2 or 3 other pubs and some really interesting independent shops nearby. Very comfortable accomodation, comfy bed and very dog friendly. Lovely log fires. Would recommend.
The bed was very comfy The rooms were clean The breakfast was all fresh and cooked perfectly
The ghost stories!!
staff very friendly and helpfull. extremely good breakfast would definitely visit again.
The staff were helpful and apologised for refurbishment knew us by name they work hard for their money. They are pleasant and welcoming. Bed and towels great and spacious room. Location was great.
Pub is scruffy. Carpets need replacing. Room needs to be looked at with critical eye. Paint missing from behind dressing table, useless sloping shelf in bathroom toilet brush broken curtains really could do with replacing and lampshade a bit tacky. It's rough and ready.
Great value for money, lovely rooms and decor. The staff were very friendly and couldn't have been any more accommodating. Would definitely stay again, and breakfast was very tasty. Thanks for a great stay.
good value for money central location good food both evening and breakfast. Really comfortable beds. Ample tea and coffee on tray in room
nothing really to dislike
