Convenient for theatre
Breakfast room a bit scruffy
Room was clean and bed was comfortable. Hosts were very friendly and welcoming. The breakfast was good and more was offered when you had finished.
Only single glazed and as on a main road street noise was very intrusive through the night.
Had a lovely stay at the bay, cannot recommend this place highly enough. Great location, very welcoming hosts, nothing was too much trouble.
This was our first stay in a B&B and we were very impressed with it. The staff were very polite and extremely helpful. The location was away from the centre of Margate which we liked. Will definetely be staying there again.
Overlooks the sea, got a huge room for a twin, double windows. Excellent breakfast from lovely hosts, no prob or hassle to store cycles and great price. Def stay again!
- big, clean room - nice equipment in the room (like 1950's/60's) - warm welcome and good service - close to the ocean - supermarket not far away
- found not much possibilitys for dinner in the area - i was not sure how to contact the owner (i had a question that time) - room is just separated from the breakfast room with a thin wooden wall (it's a bit like a construktion area)
Another lovely stay with Hannah and Steve. See you in November!
Everything was fine!
Great value for money. Amongst Margate's new crop of boutique hotels it's good to still be able to stay somewhere on a budget which is in a great location
The people were friendly
It was high up on the hill so a mamoth walk back. very hard to find car parking. It was a bit shabby.
Location: adaptability - the owners up graded me and provided breakfast earlier than usual. Clearly the premises could do with some TLC but this is massively out weighed by superb value for money.
close to town centre,on the seafront. very warm welcome owners very nice people nothing was to much trouble good breakfast good size room.
only thing was my room on ground floor toilet was on 1st floor,
Food, friendly and oblidging staff.
Close to sea & Margate amenities. Excellent breakfast. Welcoming owners.
Excellent location to walk to all the sights in Margate. This is a characterful and very reasonably priced guest house. At these prices you do not expect luxury but the rooms are clean and comfortable with plenty of tea and coffee provided. Steve and Hannah are very nice and helpful people. The breakfasts will keep you going for most of the day.
In need of some modernisation. That said this guest house is very reasonably priced so if you want to pay double or treble you can do so elsewhere.
Hannah was lovely, good cooked breakfast, and plenty of other cereals/fruit etc. Accomodated our family in rooms next to each other, nothing too much trouble
Back yard could do with a tidy, not very nice to look on to, landing carpet could do with refreshing, but under circumstances (business is tough) very good
An extremely warm and friendly welcome. The room was clean and tidy. Being opposite the Winter Gardens the location is excellent.
The water pressure in the en-suite shower room was a tad low.
Breakfast was very good the location excellent hosts very hospitable
There wasn't anything we didn't like every thing good
Comfy bed and friendly owners. Breakfast was good and it's right by the sea, a short walk from the station and very close to a bus round to Broadstairs.
It was a little dusty below the bed.
Nice and cozy private B&B, nice landlord.
Room could not be locked. For one quick night no problem, but probably for a longer stay.
Breakfast was good hannah and her husband are very nice and welcoming it was very comfortable. We will definitely stay again.
This guesthouse was absolutely delightful. The owners are lovely, the quality of the room was fab, prices terrific for what you get. The breakfast was delicious, very generous and courteous to your needs. The seafront is literally outside the doorstep and it's one minute from the centre of Margate. Highly recommend and would stay there again with pleasure.
Proprietors very nice and I can only think this is the reason why the reviews of The Bay are so good. A mature couple left a review in May 14 which sums up exactly how I feel. Good quality bread used for toast. Nice view.
Room shabby, furniture very tired, decor poor, windows kept together by layers of paint, crumpled stained sheet on bed, no hand wash, cobwebs, towels disgusting, shower falling off wall, unkempt bathroom floor, no parking, excessive extension leads being used to power lighting, noisy road. On arriving we had decided that we were not prepared to stay more than one night and found somewhere else to stay. Even for a value deal the standard of the property is not good enough.
Hannah and her son are so helpful and welcoming.
Extremely helpful and friendly landlady. Thanks for making us feel welcome and for posting the shirt we left behind. Very kind of you! Great location too, right by the Turner Gallery and minutes to the beach! We loved our trip to Margate and will definitely be back!
Friendliness of staff. Great breakfast
Parking is difficult, though staff were accommodating on first night. Shower not Woking properly Creaking floor boards in bedroom
