closeness to the bay, the prices are good
the walls are full of mouldew it is disgusting and awful that is the only thing i did not like
I found the staff very friendly and helpful. The room was very clean and tidy
Room was not heated! Problem with Boiler supposedly fixed but not working in my room.It was very cold and we cold not stay in it. Eventually got another room.manger was not on site.....inexperienced staff left to resolve issues. Attitude was "I am not arguing with you about it"................The shower suddenly stopped working mid shower! Water intermittent and temp difficult to control. Will not be staying again or recommending.
They forgot my breakfast box the last morning.
Friendly staff, bed very comfortable, hot water / decent shower and the Karaoke made my night. I'd definitely would use again.
Someboby's tissue left in Bed Paper hanging of wall. Paint work peeling. Cracks in wall. No Comfort at all very disappionted as recommened by Tourist information bureau.
Clean, & friendly
When you switch on the tap at the sink this shuts off the shower, when you turn on the TV you cannot boil the kettle, the room we stayed in had some serious electricity faults, We had to leave at 0900hrs and no breakfast was provided, lack of information in the room about the hotel.
Like staying in your nan's dirty spare bedroom.
Daytime pub was very pleasant, Sunday dinners looked very appealing
Evening pub was 'dead' hardly any customers no atmosphere. No parking available except on main promenade.
The noise outside. The arguments outside. Creaking passages.
cheap renovation in rooms. No view as building between sea and pub.
Nothing about it.
The actual pub was very tatty, the room sparse and not clean. The breakfast bag was risible.. A toffee muffin (!) and a rotten orange. No- one to discuss with as pub all locked up when I left at 8.15. No hair dryer in room and again, no access to get one in the morning.
The friendly staff. The clean room. Tea and coffee facilities, complimentary toiletries, partial sea view. Above a pub but the music was all shut off at 11.30.
Breakfast only being served from 9-10, although we were given a muffin, orange and carton of juice each on arrival in case of an early start. Someone trying and failing to set a noisy alarm outside of our room. When we left at 8.30 am we had to find our way down the dark staircase and past the gents to a side exit.
Sorry nothing about the place except . The gentleman who served breakfast tried his best ! But lacked experience in hostessing. Also same chap offered to carry my dads case up the stairs.
Dirty sticky smelly . No teacup had to ask yea making items not replenished had to ask. Shower door mouldy. Curtains dirty. Headboard comming away from bed. Stale smell in room. Safety issue due to door sticking I couldn't actually open or shut door too stiff. Tap swivelled. Breakfast in bar sticky tables, not enough equipment out ie cereal bowls , glasses , had to keep asking for milk. Safety issue with toaster one of handles missing. View from room to a balcony area with door hanging off hinges . When we got back 11.30pm the night staff from pub let us in very grumpy!!
The proximity to the sea front and local amenities
The noise from the pub downstairs until late, the dirty base of the mattress, some hair stuck on the toilet tiles, one of the windows did not lock.
staff excellent.bed comptable.
1. Lost booking for 1 of the 2 rooms - 30 minutes at check-in to resolve. 2. One room literally had no furniture except 2 single beds, ie no bedside tables, no bedside lamps, no wardrobe, no drawers, no TV, no tea making facilities....yes nothing!! 3. The other room had broken shower door. 4. On returning to room on 2nd day it had not be cleaned, made up etc. 5. Only got breakfast on 1 of the 3 days - and then it was just an orange, a 27p carton of orange juice and a stale muffin. 6. A TV was delivered on 2nd day but had to stand on floor as no furniture. It didn't matter as the TV did not work anyway! The carpets were dirty and were not cleaned once in the 3 day stay. 7. The whole place smelled of stale smoke. 8. The pub downstairs was dirty - rest arms on the tables and they stuck to them! 9. In fact the place needs shutting down. 10. Nobody should book this hotel - the internal pictures are not of this hotel or, if they are, they are from many years ago when it might have looked a little better.
A total misnomer. It is a grabby pub which rents rooms on top and is used mainly by workmen coming in to have a drink. It is behind a cnstruction site and in the evening it is a noisy place for builders to come in and have a drink. I was shocked when first saw it and even more so when I was led through the pub to a dirty and unsafe staircase to an unmade room with a toilet and unsafe shower built in a cupboard space. Totally not what was shown on the internet. Of course I complained and was given, presumably, their better room. As I was there only for 2 nights I stayed as I could not walk the streets trying to find another place.
Small smelly room. Dirty sheets, odd stain on duvet cover. No water available in the room or anywhere in the building over night. No staff
Shower was very poor
it was very quite bed was comfortable and room was clean & tidy
needs abit of uplifting and work spent of it
friendly staff good location
bit disorganized breakfast was not as advertised
The bed very comfortable
Lack of staff to ask for code for coded door. Towels taken out but not replaced and again nobody to ask for more, so used t shirt to wrap wet hair in and trousers on floor to step out of shower!!! When l complained l was told they were not a hotel but a pub with rooms so not open until 12 therefore no staff on duty but you have to check out at 10 am so how do you do this!! TV in room but no remote and tv situated above and behind the beds in the corner so if you wanted to watch it you,d have to get out of bed to change channels and also maybe go to your wedding the next day in a neck brace!!! Kettle on the floor and no bin to put your rubbish. One very small mirror in bathroom and no plug socket near enough to use a hairdryer to see what you were doing. Again no staff available to ask to change rooms or borrow a bigger mirror. Shower took 10 minutes to get hot by that time you,ve finished your shower!!! l was booked in for 2 nights but only stayed for one. The breakfast which is included in price of 65 pounds per night, consisted of a carton of juice, a muffin and a yogurt which was given to me at 4pm, so l was,nt going to eat a warm yogurt as no fridge!!!! All in all a bit of a disaster!!!!!
