atmosphear really hapy helpful staff
Location is good but excellent if your main purpose is a beach holiday. Food is good, the hotel is clean and staff generally helpful.
Minimal storage in the room I was in so you have to live out of a suitcase if you are staying several days, as I was.
close to beach, convenient base, reasonable prices
we liked all about the stay at the Bay hotel
Security, food quality, service, parking as available
Room 1,Cramped, unable to open windows. Black mould on windows and in shower. Lack of usable power sockets (reported one as broken, this was replaced, but still not working)
I like the excellent ubication of the hotel to go to Eastbourn. You can to take a bus just in front of the hotel. The full british breakfast was very good and the staff very kind. The best there was life music "English rock music" by a band called ten below zero was fantastic.
location.very near beach, pubs ,shops etc. has a bar ,enjoyed lovely meal , ( nachos, chilli and salad) sitting outside. .Comfy bed, quiet room . Breakfast included. Good value for money.
Room a bit small and cramped . Duvet heavy and hot for summer. generally bit hot and stuffy at night. No bath .only shower( i had requested a bath when i made booking)
Clean and relatively cheap. Good breakfast
Beer was not properly kept
Friendly and helpful staff who went out of their way to provide secure overnight storage for 3 bikes.
Great staff. helpful and very friendly!
Too far off the main road.
Friendly and close to the sea
A very relaxing weekend away,We were made welcome the Bay Hotel is in a excellent location near to the beach and all facilities will use again most differently .
Staff lovely and friendly !! Felt welcomed room clean bathroom clean good quality towels an lovely comfortable bed ! Good breakfast with fabulous bacon !!! We are looking forward to staying again in the near future .
The staff were friendly and extremely helpful.
Room was a bit old-fashioned, but the shower was good!
It was surprisingly quite as it was really a glorified pub. The food menu was very reasonable and the steak I had was excellent, plus a beer included in the price.
I could only open one window and they have obviously had problems with condensation in the bedroom and bathroom. The window I did manage to open was just the bottom sash and I was concerned that the top part was very grimy with old mould. The management should get this sorted, as it is a health hazard. And don't paint over windows so they cannot be opened.
clean hotel, friendly staff. Food fine
Going through rather smelly play zone when entering hotel from car park. Difficult to carry bags up stairs, particularly when suffering with walking problems Dated decor Rather cramped room Dark bathroom Rather small shower. o.k. for a couple of days, wouldn't like to spend a week there.
Location .area .decoration welcome cleanliness
The customer service was poor, the owner refused to make a bowl of porridge for me at 7am on the Saturday morning, stating breakfast starts at 7.30 and porridge is not on the menu anyway, the noise coming from their private accommodation above my room was terrible at 11pm at night the dog was barking and alot door banging etc. I checked out a day early, and asked for a refund on the three breakfasts I did not have, I was given £5.00, the owners are in the wrong industry, the whole place was in need of a deep cleen, If i had booked this hotel for a family holiday we would have been heart broken. I would have to say that the beddding was fresh and clean and the bed was very comfy, the show head was very dirty and the net curtains were full of holes. I spend over 50 nights in hotels through out the year and have been doing so for 10 year, this is the worst hotel I have every booked in to.
Basic and clean. Good value for money.
Nice Size Room & decent hot breakfast.
Payment compulsory on arrival rather than on leaving - shows a money-grabbing mentality. Bad quality mattresses in the beds. Car park very shabby, stones and grit - no asphalt - and not big enough to accommodate all the guests' cars - twice we were told to park elsewhere. Bathroom facilities inadequate, bad quality toilet paper not always replaced and no toiletries. Shabby surroundings of hotel and noisy due to one way traffic system surrounding it - hotel is not quietly secluded facing the beach as you might think. No lift to upper floors for heavy luggage .In view of all the above the place is overpriced. We shall never stay there again.
EVERTYTHING!! Val and Steven the landlords couldn't do enough for you. Food was excellent, freshly cooked and hot, the room was clean and beds very comfortable. We were amazed to have clean towels each day and overal would give the place 10 out of10!!,
Just had to be careful crossing the road as it was quite a busy road and on a corner.
Clean, with friendly staff, well cooked breakfast.
Dated feel, no latches on windows, no towel rail so nowhere to put wet towels, no soap dish in shower.
Keen helpful staff, lovely and clean, good food, very reasonably priced. Will stay at Bay again!
