Fantastic location. There is a bus stop outside the hotel and it takes literally five minutes max to get into town. It is also a quick walk down the hill if you prefer. The room was clean, the beds comfy and the shower amazing! We did not eat here in the evening but the breakfast was second to none. Freshly cooked and piping hot. Great coffee too. Free car parking behind the hotel is the icing on the cake. Nothing was too much trouble for the staff, no matter how busy they were.
Decor great, fabulous bed, lovely big bathroom . Surprisingly quiet considering our room was facing the main road. Good atmosphere in the bar! Very enjoyable breakfast
Great to find filter coffee avaible in the room, shame there was only enough for one person. Not enough sugar left for teas/ coffees, mugs could have done with a thorough clean!
The staff was very friendly and the food is very good.
The rooms are very basic. Had to ask for towels. Very noisy as rooms facing the road. Expensive compared to other hotels.
The location was good for the price, you can either walk to town or get a bus.The bathroom, shower was excellent as were the fresh towels and bed linen.
The wait for food was terrible and marmalade was not readily available. I stayed last year and on leaving exactly the same thing happened (they tried to charge for a meal I didn't have). The double bed was a bit small!!!!!!
Place was very clean. Staff was friendly. Breakfast was lovely
For some reason I was charged extra £10.00 for something. I Should have questioned it at the time
Homely and relaxed atmosphere yet efficient and helpful. A choice of areas to relax, the bar, the lounge sofas or the tabled area. The food was simple yet good. With the rooms following suit. An easy walk to the town centre and a simple bus journey back ( up hill! ) with the bus stop steps away from the front door. It was handy that there was on site parking, although a bit tight! We will consider another stay.
The look of the building outside. The tight car park!
Location /bus immediate to hotel Busy vibrant atmosphere Very friendly staff
Room not cleaned properly /altho we left the room for it to be done @3pm No milk on both days Had to ask for toast /as did all tables spoilt a lovely gravalax breakfast Coffee served in cups !!
Lovely bedroom and bathroom. Excellent breakfast. Friendly staff
Outside - looked a bit drab and maybe a bit too pub'y but once you got inside it was lovely. No normal tbags in the room but I am sure that would have been rectified if we had complained
Comfy settees in the bar as well as tables for eating Close to town centre so no need to drive (and park!) in Bath centre
When we walked in was playing Nick mulvey and then I looked up and had my fav whiskey ( wild turkey )
Pillows and how you could hear everything in the other ions and landing
The location was good for the city centre, but there is a steep hill to negotiate, the bus stop however is right outside. The bed was comfortable.
I have stayed in better places for a lot less money.I thought we would treat ourselves by paying £120 for the night, but the whole place looked jaded. The shower was too fierce and fell off the wall when you tried to adjust the height. No tea, sugar or milk in the room.Went down to the bar to get these ,was told they would be sent up,Had to go down again 1 hour later as nothing arrived.Breakfast was passable but had to change my chair which was coming apart.
I loved the design of the bar/restaurant and the rooms, the staff were friendly and helpful, car parking was free and it was a lovely short walk into the city centre.
No hair dryer in room
Everything. Furniture was well outdated and grubby. Dining area furniture should be skipped. It was like sitting down on old school chairs. There was no theme to decoration apart from poor. We were so looking forward to coming to Bath and at the cost of £190 for the night we were expecting a really decent place. As soon as we open the door to the Bear Hotel we found it extremely hard to hide our disappointment.
Free parking Good coffee at breakfast
Untrained staff - started serving us and walked off halfway through/breakfast was a shambles Bar area when we arrived was like a crèche Hair in plug hole so didn't drain properly Mould in shower Water left in kettle No milk-or even any note about milk Lock on door was hard to use
The room was large (Longfellow) and very comfortable. The food was excellent. The staff were brilliant, friendly and attentive.
The chairs in the breakfast, dining room were not very comfortable, but adequate.
Very friendly staff, warm room, comfortable bed, and delicious breakfast.
Wooden floorboards are a bit noisy
Breakfast was good Quality & quantity
The stairs were dangerous no hand rail, carpet was very slippery my husband slipped down last 3steps Bed was very low
It's impression, it is on the main road, and looked a little tired. However, on entry, we were greeted, and shown to our room, which was excellent. Modern, clean, excellent shower, with huge bath sheets. Lovely chocolate bar, to go with our tea and coffee. Downstairs in the bar, it was busy, with a lovely atmosphere.no negatives. Great breakfast, which was served up until 10.30
Location, friendly, good breakfast, good shower
Room quite spartan and poorly set up for guests, noisy floors/neighbouring rooms as no carpets or sound insulation. Relatively expensive
The location was excellent, near the city centre and plenty of parking. Food was basic, however it was plentiful and enjoyable. Would I stay again? Yes!
The outside of the building looked in need of updating. Noise from traffic was little disturbing, but the hotel is next to a road.
Staff were superb
friendly helpful staff. Good food. Excellent breakfast.
Location and ease of parking considering it is in Bath
Breakfast is not served until 7.30am and when I informed them I ads an early departure, they did not offer anything
The food and the ambience of the place was lovely, the staff were welcoming and always very cheerful.
The room we had was very cold!
The staff were great, welcoming and friendly. Food was tasty and overwhelming. Breakfast was great. Thanks.
I thought 95 pounds was too much. I paid it as it was so convenient for the RPS. Royal Photographic Soc'.
