The breakfast, was top quality
No black outs in room, light shines through too easily!
Excellent Value Great friendly staff Fantastic food Nice decor inside
room not thoroughly cleaned. insert of pants found. Attached to cushion. Staff were informed.
Great find. About a ten minute walk or short bus ride (Bus Stop right outside The Bear) Parking is free with your stay here.Breakfast at The Bear was also very good.
It didn't bother us but the rooms are above the pub so you can expect some background noise. However the evening food here is very good so that is the plus side.
The noise, double glazing would be advised
Perfect location for visiting Bath. 10 minute walk or bus stop just outside hotel . Breakfast huge so we didn't need lunch. Free parking is a a real bonus with a hotel so close to the city.
Some may think the rooms at front of hotel a little noisy but we didn't have any problems.
i liked the decor and how friendly everyone was very clean bed comfy good wifi nice shower nice view
that we were only there one night
The food at the hotel was very nice. The staff very friendly and personable. The room was a very good size.
the room could have been cleaner.
Loved The Bear so cosy and friendly staff, lovely rooms with character and close to town
Good location, friendly staff, clean and comfortable. Attention to detail and great breakfast
Rooms felt a bit bare/echoey - could do with some more soft furnishings
The room was lovely and spacious and the food was great. The location to the town centre was perfect. Free car parking was a plus.
The superior room was front facing on to a noisy busy main room. Tv was far too small for the large room.
I liked the feel of homeliness of the accomodation it was clean and the bed was comfortable. Although it was part of a pub there was no disturbance and it was enjoyable to have a pint in.There was a 10 minute walk down hill to the town center which i found enjoyable as was the return journey.
Nothing really stands out
In the first room I was given it turned out that the toilet was blocked. The manager immediately tried to solve the problem and, failing, transferred me to another, larger room. He was very apologetic and I was served a drink on the house at dinner. Everyone was very friendly. I have stayed here before and would do so again.
In my second room there was no heating in the bathroom. This meant you had to turn the radiator on very high in the bedroom and leave the bathroom door open. As I prefer to sleep in a cool room but shower in a toasty bathroom, this is not a good solution.
Large room, nice bathroom. Great breakfast. Very helpful staff.
Room faced out to main road, so noisy during night.
Beautifully furnished, lovely big bathroom and great shower. Comfy bed. Nice touch of luxury selection of tea and chocolate caramel. Really good breakfast. We ate dinner there as well and had a great meal with excellent service.
The price was a bit expensive considering it is just above a pub and a bit of a walk from the town centre. However I guess Bath generally is overpriced.
We weren't expecting much when we saw the building but we were pleasantly surprised by the loveliness on the inside. The room was comfy, normal double bed (could have done with a king but thats being picky!) and the food was lush! The squid starter is worth a try. Only a short walk into town. There is a hill involved so if you'd rather bus it then the stop is right outside the bear. We will be back and I would defo recommend it if you are thinking of a trip to bath.
Loved the size and style of the room. The bed was comfy and the pillows were really soft! I enjoyed the choice of breakfast too!
The room was too cold even with the radiator on. Th but small for the room and there was a a constant fam sound noise coming from the bathroom.
The staff were friendly & helpful our room & bathroom were spacious
There was no heating in the bathroom & would have liked some comfy chairs in the room
Beds were comfortable. Cooked breakfast was excellent.ideal location for exploring Bath.
The shower was good if only used by one person. When my daughter tried to shower she was almost scalded no matter what setting it was on.
We where introduced to The Bear by friend's pleasant staff great rooms and excellent Breakfast would recommend this Hotel to anyone
Staff and place were excellent, location also good 5 mins from town
That when i did arrive, booking had not been confirmed by yourselves. booking.com !!!
The room the location.
To noisy at night as above a pub which played loud music till 1 am
The room itself was a decent size.
Beds in twin room were the thinnest I've ever seen and duvet was the same width. When we arrived we were waiting for 15 minutes before anyone saw to us and when they finally did the girl said she didn't know how to check people in and we had to wait for the manager. Location isn't too bad, about 10-15 minute walk to the station. Very over priced for what you get.
Staff are really nice Rooms are very lovely decorated and finished. I love the bear carpet, which is cozy Bathroom is well maintained coffee maker provided and a choice of grounded coffee and hot chocolate convenient location Breakfast is excellent
No proper reception Room smells weird when moved in, but the smell vanished after turning on the heater for a couple of hours
