Rooms need updated and Bed need replacing

Very nice room with four-poster bed and English excellent breakfast presented by friendly staff.

Had cheese board on day of arrival and it took longer than expected. i think they forgot us.

Very friendly staff and in a good location. The rooms are comfortable and clean and the breakfast was excellent. The bistro is good value for the quality of food served.

Could do with a couple more parking spaces for the size of the hotel

It was in reach of what I needed to do in the area and being in the town allowed the opportunity to walk around etc..

No lift to the 2nd floor as it really is an historic hotel but the staff were willing to help.

Hotel of great character and historic interest, yet properly updated to provide a very comfortable stay. Excellent, very helpful staff and a first-rate breakfast, all at a reasonable price.

We spent 2-weeks in Europe. The Bear was the best place we stayed. The staff was excellent and the care they took to care for the history of the facility was awesome! Great place to stay for anyone. Excellent food and we can't say enough about the staff!

Central for Devizes reception staff. Breakfast

Bar service was slow Bed was too soft

Central Devizes means one can walk everywhere. Countryside a short drive away. Good breakfast and nice bar area. We like Old English style places.

The room is small,as is the bed and the decor is tired. TV didn't work well. We were at the top of the building which is fine for us but there was no apparent lift for the less able. Expensive for the quality provided.

Rooms, & Bear Bistro

A very pleasant stay at The Bear Hotel. Nice and central for Devizes. Was a little concerned to look out onto the Main Street on arrival in the room but needn't have worried, it was so quiet. A very comfortable room - No 4. Nice breakfast next morning. Would definately stay there again if visiting Devizes.

I found the hotel very welcoming, relaxing and very well and tastefully decorated. So many hotels of this age look run down, but not The Bear. I also liked the fact that local staff were employed, again so often the hotels are staffed by Europeans. Although we only stayed one night, in order to see the Caens hill locks, I wish we had a reason to return.

Everything was good at this Hotel,comfortable clean and warm.The breakfast was served between 7am - 10 am ,which is a very good time.Cereal fruit and full english very nice.No problem with parking.

Location, The Bear offers almost everything you would require in a hotel, good food either in the Bistro, restaurant or bar, a facility for meetings and family parties, immaculately furnished and decorated bedrooms and most of all, a lovely old building right in the centre of town.

You gave us just what we wanted no hidden extras super breakfast and VFM ,!

Convenient for my purpose. Comfortable. Staff were friendly especially the breakfast staff. Able to watch TV and movies.

Drinks were expensive

The building although old has been renovated extensively whilst still retaining atmosphere. The room was very comfortable and had every facility we wanted. The food was excellent.
