Stunning view of the local countryside. Lovely homely country inn with real fire burning. Varied and original menus.
The motel room (No 4) was quite drab and depressing. had the feel of old people's sheltered accommodation. Not very welcoming. Having paid £80 for the night, I expected more. The room could have been made to feel warmer and more inviting with nice furnishings.
Very clean Pleasant room Comfortable bed Modern en-suite bathroom Lovely food Great views
I was slightly put off by the big screen sports tv and pool table but the great food and quality of the room more than made up for them
Only stayed one night, eve spent in bar, room was spacious, bed was comfy
Short on plug sockets especially near mirror for hairdryer n straightners
couldnt lock the patio door so had to keep laptop in boot of car!!!!!
Lovely comfy bed, awesome breakfast, stunning views, friendly staff, excellent dinner and brilliant shower all made for a relaxing stay :-) Would love to stay here again, it was awesome.
Walls thin so could hear next doors tv and chatting. Would be nice to have a plug socket near a mirror for hair dryer, straighteners etc...
Great location for getting about Parking facilities Friendly staff Good views
Could have done with hair drying facilities.
Great view from room over countryside. Lovely breakfast. Very friendly and polite staff.
Can't think of anything.
view from pub garden
all a bit shabby, and extremely basic
Friendly staff Value for money Great 'Full English' breakfast Clean bedroom Wonderful views Perfect location for us
4' 6" bed - bit cramped Furnishings rather 'tired' No window in the bedroom, only patio doors which was not very convenient on a hot summer night
Staff were welcoming and friendly.
Was expensive for what it was.
The bed was very comfortable, the room was clean and the towels changed every day. The woman who looked after the rooms was very friendly and helpful. The view from the room and the hotel garden is to die for.
Reception was excellent and shown to our room, the view over the downs from the patio window was outstanding and the room was large, clean and tidy, the four poster was comfortable which afforded a good nights sleep followed by a hearty breakfast served in the main Inn restaurant area, would recommend to others and would certainly stay here again.
No Hairdryer or ironing items, Shower cubical tray in need of deep clean and reseal
Lovely village and fantastic views over the Sussex Weald
Staff really friendly and helpful, views are stunning, food really nice, nice friendly pub,on site parking is good.
The rooms need new decor ,updating and refurbishing, lack of privacy as customers in beer garden may be able to see into rooms. A later check out time would be great.
Wonderful view from rooms 5 to 8
Quiet, great views, wonderful Breakfast & good value
Futon very uncomfortable & a chipped mug
The view from our room across the Sussex Weald was breath-taking - and there was plenty of tea and coffee in the room!
Nice friendly stAff lovely view from bedroom
We hosted my mum's 80th birthday party at The Bear and can honestly say it was absolutely faultless; wonderful frieindly and efficient staff, great food and fabulous views.
The room was separate from the main pub and so quiet, although we enjoyed the live music in the evening anyway so stayed in the pub for that. The view from the large french window in the room was panoramic with a well maintained garden/orchard in the foreground. Burwash is a pleasant village on the Sussex Weald and there was another inn in the village - The Rose and Crown - that did an excellent evening meal. Both the Bear and the R and C did a good range of real ales.
Good location in a lovely village. Good size rooms. Friendly owners/staff.
Very nice staff. Lovely comfortable bed, temperature of room perfect, fairly basic but very clean room, nice big shower, generous teas, coffees, hot chocolate. Gorgeous view from garden. Good breakfast, excellent dinner. Excellent value for money. Well done!
Good breakfast, comfy rooms and good location
No wifi in rooms
poorly trained bar staff
Convenient location, traditional style ,comfortable bed hassle free stay, great scenery.
