The evening meal in the put and the cooked breakfast, the host at breakfast which was the father was also a pleasure to talk to.
Bar staff not that welcoming, sat and talked about private matters that we could overhear.
rural and village setting, open log fire, dog friendly pub (we didn't go with one) real ale, fantastic view from motel room window.
a few sloppy details missed in the room. Very cold on arrival, one bedside light not working. sliding patio door opened but very hard to lock again. Only one spoon provided for tea/coffee. Meal in pub not brilliant. Item selected off menu given not available. Starter and main course arrived at virtually the same time...
Central heating good when you turn the thermostat up. Staff very friendly. Good breakfast. Shower string and Hot. So all fine. Wonderful view over the hills at the back.
Everything, rooms, meals and venue
The person w spoke to said there was no booking in our name and that Booking.com was often guilty of bookings not made! At great difficult we had to find alternative accommodation.
hardworking staff good breakfast
Really helpful and friendly Manager and staff. Welcoming bar with friendly dogs. Motel offers freedom to come and go. Really good breakfasts
Burwash is a bit of the beaten track so we wanted to eat in the village. The Bear has quite a good menu, but needs a bit of updating, more veggy and whole food options.
Good sized room, with lovely view to rear. Everything worked! Plenty of tea, coffee etc provided.
All looked a little 'tired'. Curtains did not open to allow us to see view as wires etc rusted. Car parking limited when pub busy, not good for a Motel. Public Car Park adjacent but only small.
Great views , lovely shower, good food & fantastic breakfast
Nothing to complain about
Stayed with a friend for my birthday and enjoyed every minute. All the staff were friendly and helpful. The pub was cosy and had a good selection of food for the evening and we had a lovely breakfast. The room was clean and comfortable and had a superb view over the countryside. Would definitely go back again in the future.
Would have been handy to have an iron and hairdryer in the room.
Very pleasant part of the country, easy to reach from most areas and lovely villages in the immediate vacinity.
The hotel was very clean, the view was breath taking and the bed was very comfortable. We stayed in room 5 for 1 night whilst attending a wedding near by. The room has everything we needed for this stay. I will definitely be visiting again for a long weekend.
Stunning view of the local countryside. Lovely homely country inn with real fire burning. Varied and original menus.
The motel room (No 4) was quite drab and depressing. had the feel of old people's sheltered accommodation. Not very welcoming. Having paid £80 for the night, I expected more. The room could have been made to feel warmer and more inviting with nice furnishings.
Very clean Pleasant room Comfortable bed Modern en-suite bathroom Lovely food Great views
I was slightly put off by the big screen sports tv and pool table but the great food and quality of the room more than made up for them
Only stayed one night, eve spent in bar, room was spacious, bed was comfy
Short on plug sockets especially near mirror for hairdryer n straightners
couldnt lock the patio door so had to keep laptop in boot of car!!!!!
Lovely comfy bed, awesome breakfast, stunning views, friendly staff, excellent dinner and brilliant shower all made for a relaxing stay :-) Would love to stay here again, it was awesome.
Walls thin so could hear next doors tv and chatting. Would be nice to have a plug socket near a mirror for hair dryer, straighteners etc...
Great location for getting about Parking facilities Friendly staff Good views
Could have done with hair drying facilities.
Great view from room over countryside. Lovely breakfast. Very friendly and polite staff.
Can't think of anything.
view from pub garden
all a bit shabby, and extremely basic
Friendly staff Value for money Great 'Full English' breakfast Clean bedroom Wonderful views Perfect location for us
4' 6" bed - bit cramped Furnishings rather 'tired' No window in the bedroom, only patio doors which was not very convenient on a hot summer night
Staff were welcoming and friendly.
Was expensive for what it was.
The bed was very comfortable, the room was clean and the towels changed every day. The woman who looked after the rooms was very friendly and helpful. The view from the room and the hotel garden is to die for.
Reception was excellent and shown to our room, the view over the downs from the patio window was outstanding and the room was large, clean and tidy, the four poster was comfortable which afforded a good nights sleep followed by a hearty breakfast served in the main Inn restaurant area, would recommend to others and would certainly stay here again.
No Hairdryer or ironing items, Shower cubical tray in need of deep clean and reseal
Lovely village and fantastic views over the Sussex Weald
