Quiet, large detached and very comfortable bedroom on vintage site of brewery. Pleasant and helpful welcome from newly installed owners.
Difficulty of dark approach at night through garden via side alley; some lighting would be helpful and trailing branches to be cut back.
Helpful manager. Great location with room above entrance on main street. Autonomous entry after 7pm through back garden due semi-operating status of pub.
No night staff. No kitchen in pub.
First thought was: was can it be for a small village? But: Great location very reasonable price felt like home all kind of shops, restaurants and take away available Cinema and a great view Would book again if I am in area.
Some Colleagues had better wifi. In my room it depended in which corner you are.
Dirty room. Moved due to drainage issues and not offered a refund for difference in price and refused when we asked. Nasty and unprofessional management
Didn,t like the room it was to small I didn't find the management very freindly and it was a noisy road when woken up at 2 in the morning by a drunken man swearing his head off
Tiny room.tiny bathroom. Had to pay for parking which was a way from the premises. No breakfast available.
When we arrived we were alarmed to see a To Let sign above the pub, but we went in with an open mind. We were shown to our room where we duly unpacked and went to explore the historic market town of Bridgnorth. On returning to shower and change for our night out we noticed that the pub had gone quiet, on our way out we noticed the pub was closed, a tad unusual for a Saturday afternoon. After our night out we were expecting a live band at the venue but to our surprise the pub was closed, so we retired to bed where it was apparent that the mattress was completely "knackered" and it was also apparent there was no one to complain to, and we appeared to be the only guests. As my partner has previously worked for Enterprise Inns, she was amazed that no one was living in as she thought it was against all the rules. I would have thought Enterprise Inns would have phoned to pre warn us the situation and perhaps offered an alternative or a refund.
Staff didn't answer the phone or return messages confirming booking. When someone did answer they said only 2 rooms were booked, were I had paid and had confirmation of 3.
With my confirmed booking I arrived at around 4.00pm to be advise there was no room for me as it was taken by a "walk in" and I would need to find alternate accommodation at such a late time of day. There was no apology and the attitude was to say the least couldn't care less. Avoid at all costs.
Everything. First day there we decided to go for a walk around Bridgnorth and could not get out of the place, all the pub doors to the street were locked and there was no one available to ask for assistance. My wife bumped into a lady on one of the landings and she told us to go through the back gate into the car park.
The staff and atmosphere service and helpfulness fitted in well with the surrounding area.
Having to leave
charm of old building , good beds. needs a larger t.v for size of room
when we arrived the landlord just showed us to our place with was in the old brewhouse..sparce kitchen Place has no cooking facilities, just microwave and kettle, and only 2 cups with 3 people staying...needs some tlc
Less than 24hrs after booking I received a phone call from the establishment informing me that the booking was made for their 'overflow' room. This turned out not to be a problem, as the manager had already gone to the trouble of making an alternative booking on my behalf at another Inn, less than 5 minutes walk away. The alternative booking was for a larger room, with a double and a single, for exactly the same price although my original booking was only for a twin room! The payment was all arranged to be transferred generously by the manager of the Bear Inn, so I did not even have to collect my payment and pay the replacement accommodation (The Friars) myself which was a load off my mind as I was tight on time upon arrival. All in all I would highly recommend this venue as their customer service far exceeded my expectations.
Leaving the room.
Overcharged. unfriendly reception, didnt reply to email for booking of evening meal, local drunks on arrival wanting to know if were rich. Not wheelchair friendly as discribed. The 3 bedded room only had 2 cups & 2 bowls, NO plates or cutlery. The kitchenette has a fridge but no cooking rings or oven & NO sink.NO hairdryer as advised. The bedding smelt of old ladys perfume which indicates to me the bedding hadnt been changed. The single bed squeeked on ever turn The room only had 2 little windows which would not open. There were cob webs in the room.Directly outside the garden area was just a bit of waste ground with a faded dirty green patio table & chairs, the childrens play area was the same. In the evening the pub was shut & in darkness with a notice to b&b customers to ring a mobile number to gain entery. We were advised to leave the room at 10 am (couldnt wait) we left at 10 am exactly but nobody was around to collect the keys, we waited till 10.30 am but nobody arrived, therefore left the keys in the room & left, NEVER to return. This review was for the 3 bed apartment only & must stress the pub looked ok & clean, We cant comment on the rooms above the pub.
Was told about 4 days before the visit that the room was not available!! Im sure that they had just taken a full weekend booking instead. Messed up the whole weekend.
Nice friendly couple who run the Inn. Excellent traditional breakfast. A simple Inn and probably not suitable for most for a long stay but Bridgnorth is a lovely town.
Having to move the car from outside the back door to the general car park across the road from Friday night to Sunday night as the market is held on those days.
The twin room I booked was unavailable so a member of staff rang me offering two doubles - which meant the cost would double. The person was not helpful in offering a solution and before I finished talking to her , she put the phone down. I eventual got a better deal in the croft, bridgnorth. Where we enjoyed our stay very much with the very helpful staff and delicious breakfast
good location. the staff are friendly. the rooms are clean. good breakfast. guest ales at fair prices.
Location and the staff were so helpful...really had a great time visiting this area ....room really quirky just what we were looking for to be very central thank you....
If you want to see bridgenorth good location friendly staff nice garden
Thin walls hard bed busy road due to road works
Room was warm and cosy great place for couples
Friendly welcoming lovely bedroom and garden x
Location was excellent for walking around, although that can be said for all bridgnorth's pubs or b&b s. Room though very small maximised space
Tricky entrance after hours, pub aspect appears to be on the wane despite three excellent beers on tap. Bed was very very soft so backache is one thing you will take away. I think we caught the landlady on a bad day, huge list of donts is not a warm welcome.
I couldn't fault anything.
Location right in centre
Noisy room on front cobwebs and daddy long legs in bathroom. Musty bedding smell general attitude pub closing at 6.30
