Possibly the oldest travelers' inn in Wales, the friendly Kings Arms has its own micro brewery and an excellent restaurant offering tapas and a varied dining menu.

Score from 77 reviews Very good
Ideally placed between the historic towns of Monmouthshire and Chepstow. Tintern is in the heart of the Wye Valley, and all of the attractions it has to offer.

Delicious food, great staff and drinks. Great views out of room 7.
Steep stairs with big luggage, but a small price to pay for such a beautiful old building.
Location was good, room comfortable if a little twee for my liking
Shower too small although good flow and heat which is always a plus
free wifi - food
wifi have to log in again as different in main hotel not really a problem
Restaurant and bar excellent. Had a lovely meal by the open fire,
I was so pleased with everything that I have booked another visit with my wife to celebrate a major wedding anniversary. What more can I say.
Expensive for what is essentially a village pub.
we not asked if our breakfast was ok or at check out if we enjoyed our stay.hotel lacked personalities with staff
Fantastic food and lovely warm atmosphere.
Great bar Excellent restaurant Plenty of character
Food, quiet village location
Lovely welcome and very helpful staff. Many thanks for forwarding th phone charger we left in the room. Enjoyed the bar meal and the breakfast
Not a 'didn't like' but it would have been reaally nice f the fir had been on in the bar.
The staff were friendly and willing to please. We had an excellent meal on the evening of our arrival. Room clean and well equipped.
We had a long wait for breakfast. There is only an electric shower above the bath which was difficult as the head kept slipping.
As a business traveller I liked that it had a pub and restaurant attached so that it was convenient to eat there. Also, that breakfast was included and there was free parking.
I thought that the evening meal was overpriced. I had fish and chips, and it was £12.99, and the price was not in line with the quality, as the fish was greasy and the chips dry. However, there was an excellent wine selection.
This was my third stay and I will be staying again when I’m visiting the area
The best thing about the hotel is definately the staff. You felt that they were genuine warm and caring. I unfortunately had to work whilst on holiday with my disabled mum. The WIFI was unreliable in the room we were booked in, and they very kindly moved us to a room where I could continue my work. We both loved the food in the restaurant, chef was excellent, and again sooo accommodating. We were both special cases - mum suffers from coeliac, and I'm intolerant of wheat and dairy. I stay in hotels a lot! And there really aren't many places who cater for special dietary requirements. brilliant!
There wasn't a dislike, but an observation, the decor is a little tired.
We stayed here after the festival Saturday and were grateful for the thoughtful telephone call mid afternoon to arrange our evening reservation. Staff were very pleasant and that evening we had a very enjoyable 3 course meal. We had salmon & scrambled egg and the eggs florentine for breakfast which was great. Other diners full English looked just as good. Bedding and towels fine and in all very good value
Our room was just a little bit dated. No where to hang your towels in the bathroom, just stuffed on the radiator and no shelf to put the likes of a makeup or toiletry bag. Internet did not work in the bedroom and extremely poorly in the dining room so much so that you could not get anything, wheras in the hallway it was fine. With todays modern electrics it would not take too much to solve the problem. The shower head looked manky and needed replacing.
Good comfortable bed Great breakfast Great Pub
Minor problem with wifi as range limited
Food was ok & hotel's location is pretty.
Room had 3 air fresheners which was overbearing. Most of the curtain hooks not attached to curtains. Dirty window & cobwebs on light fitting. Very noisy as metal steps outside to rooms above. Needs complete redecoration / new bathroom. One staff member not very helpful on reception.
good beer food average bed comfy
room too small décor of room and bar area was very jaded and old fashioned
Food, staff, village
Breakfast is very good.
Rooms in main hotel are old and a bit shabby. Had a room booked in stables but got moved into main hotel.
very hot day, a fan was supplied
booked double room was given a twin, booked room with bath, only had shower, asked to change was told not possible as fully booked,
Very helpful and friendly staff. Very good facilities and excellent breakfast.
Good food,good location,efficient service,reasonable room and facilities.
Staff polite but impersonal, nobody asked if the room or food was ok or indeed if we had enjoyed our stay. We simply paid and left which is not really how it should be.
