Rooms in main hotel are old and a bit shabby. Had a room booked in stables but got moved into main hotel.
Very helpful and friendly staff. Very good facilities and excellent breakfast.
The room was very nice but the food was incredible.
Wonderful place lovely location and friendly staff. Would definitely return at sometime.
Nice location with handy free parking and a great breakfast included. We would have loved to stay longer to enjoy the restaurant and real ales.
Free Internet was out of range from our room so we had to go to the very pleasant public areas the next morning to catch up on emails etc.
Pleasant and helpful staff Food very good - excellant breakfast Beer good Pleasant outlook from bedroom Cost for room and food average
Bedroom was on second floor up 2 flights of stairs which my wife who has had heart problems struggled with. But as our stay was for only 2 nights this was not mentioned to management.
God restaurant, nice rooms
Our suite could have been cleaner (there was loads of hair on one of the armchairs and I think the hoovering must have been done in a hurry)
Our stay was excellent, would recommend to everyone.
Excellent for a one night stay. Really great water pressure in the shower ; well done!! not always the case in the UK. Also lovely breakfast, individually prepared
Food and the service was very good
the bed was really very uncomfortable, new mattress needed
The building has character and is very clean. The bedroom was quite spacious.I liked the traditional bar areas and outside seating area
The bedroom was uncomfortably hot....even with a fan.Our breakfast took an hour to serve because of a staff emergency.

Very good breakfast

Revisited after 8yrs it was like we had never been away. We were made very welcome by the owners & staff. We will visit again to try out some more of the menu. We had an great meal & a few drinks to round off a wonderful sunny saturday night.
The fact we had to leave Sunday !!
Fantastic food. Excellent quality and well presented. Comfy room and a nice touch to have both complimentary tea/coffee and water. Staff friendly and helpful.
A minor thing - shower cubicle was a little small.

We found all staff were very attentive and dealt with our enquires in a pleasant manner. Excellent food served at breakfast and dinner. We would recommend your hotel.
No complaints at all!
the food was excellent and the staff
a little bit expensive
Staff really helpful and friendly. Nice breakfast, evening mean very nice. Good selection of ale in the bar especially the local UPA.
Service was a little slow which semed to relate to number of staff rather than their eagerness to help. restaurant menu a little unimaginative but items on offere wee very good.
The staff was friendly in many ways. They made me feel very welcome. Enjoyed the variety of breakfast options. Enjoyed ending the day in the bar.
room was small no wash cloths
staff were very obliging
get a room in the main building
Staff very friendly and attentive. Lovely old building which was very clean and smelled nice! Cooked breakfast very good. Would have liked more variety of cereals though.
First night we both ate in the hotel and I had to send my meal back (lamb) as I couldn't even cut through it. Replacement meal was ok (fishcakes), but nothing special and my friend said the same about hers (salmon). Disappointing.
Friendly, helpful staff. Hotel had character.
