Dating back to the 1600s, The Three Tuns is set overlooking Chepstow Castle. Retaining its charming original features, the inn offers traditional accommodation, homemade food and a pretty beer garden....

Just a 20-minute drive from Monmouth, Deangate Motel offers boutique bedrooms and generous breakfasts. On the edge of the Forest of Dean, there is free parking and free Wi-Fi.
Score from 177 reviews Wonderful
the staff were excellent and very friendly
Rooms are dated and poorly equipped. Very noisy from both outside and inside the hotel. TV only worked when it wanted to.
Location, food, cleanliness
Staff tried to rectify problems after being asked a couple of times
There was (what looked like) blood on the curtains Cold shower and only 1 towel. Event downstairs- room shaking with noise level. We were given no prior notice of this (we have a 1 year old) Very hot room (couldn't open window owing to noise)
Price was ok
Poor cleanliness Poor staff as mobile phone was more important than customers.
Room as expected but bathroom very small.
No parking available for guests if arrive late. Requested room on lower floor but given a room up 2 flights of stairs. Male staff member joked about it and did not offer to help with luggage. No information or town map available.
This was my second visit to the hotel. Previously I was alone and had a single room. The location is ideal and I would be happy to stay in the hotel again should I find myself in Chepstow. But in a different room! The staff were both friendly and efficient and the food was excellent with very good value for money.
The satnav directed me to the front door where is no parking and at the start of a pedestrian precinct. I would have been better to publicise the fact that the car park (although restricted to about ten cars) with a rear entrance to the hotel is in Nelson Street. I asked for a room on the ground floor and the room which we were given was accessed from the car park but because of the vehicle and patron movements meant that the window had to be kept close for noise reduction. The window frame was shoddy inside the room and the room was damp. Not ideal.
Room quality very poor.
Room small, stuffy and bed uncomfortable. I would have moved hotels but found others in the area fully booked.
When we got there we found an extra bed in the room which was a bonus because it was advertised as a double and meant my friend and I had a bed each. Staff cleaned room when we were out and teas/coffees restocked. Beds were very comfy and nice quiet location but near enough to big tesco and coffee shops/restaurants.
Room could have thoroughly been cleaned before our arrival bearing in mind we arrived late evening. Dirty tissues had been left in bedside table. Shower took about 10mins to run before any hot water. Could have also had a note of hotel wifi passwords in the room.
The best thing about the hotel, along with the fantastically central location, is the pleasant, enthusiastic and thoughtful attitude of all its staff. From the cleaner who offered to move her car for us, to the receptionist who made us feel very welcome, and the restaurant/kitchen staff who went a little off-menu for us without batting an eye-lid, they couldn't have been friendlier or more helpful. We stayed with our 13 yr old son with communication difficulties, and it is rare for us to ever feel so accepted and at ease in a hotel. The Beaufort Hotel is not luxurious but very comfortable and clean and serves fantastic food - it is attractive without being pretentious, lacking the manicured sterility of most chain-hotels. It is homely without being overly-familiar, lively without being too loud - just a nice place to stay for a reasonable price. Good job! (K. York)
(There is a rather alarmingly wobbly bannister at the top of the stairs - it is an old building and maybe needs just a little more attention here and there)
It was quiet and it is central in Chepstow
Bathroom very tired, shower curtain mouldy, shower curtain rail rusty, shaving light not working , TV very old, small and not easy to see; beds old fashioned and squeeky, bed lamps uncomfortably low, bedding dirty, dressing table overhead light not working, window held together with filler, wardrobe doors broken, room entry door not secure with rim lock, carpets and decoration throughout tired. Travellers today expect and are used to far higher quality for the same price.
Excellent location & function room, but our room was very tired and cleanliness was of poor standard. The beds were comfy enough. Cooked breakfast good, but tea in an urn was stewed!!
Fusty smelling room, not cleaned to a high standard. Tired decor & furnishings.
Great location, really friendly staff. Could be a wonderful hotel.
Bed was uncomfortable and Personally I ended up with 7 bites on my legs from something and my partner had 3 bites also. Far to expensive for the standard of what it was.
Bedding was clean. Lady that came to put the bed up was pleasant.
Poor reception staff, bathroom smelled strongly of urine, z bed collapsed on my son so that he had to take the mattress of the bed and put it on the floor. Absolutely no wifi having been promised we could receive it.
good location ,clean very quiet room everything you need for a stop over.
i thought the shower could do with updating
for a 2 star hotel the whole stay was very good.
Good location. Room old and basic but clean and comfy bed.
All OK for price paid. No bedsite light curtain of poor quality and let light in.
If i had wonted a full breakfast, however we did not!
Tea in a flask is not the way to serve tea. Tea pot with tea bags and fresh hot water! Continental Breakfast, means croissant's not toast! and fresh coffee, again not from a flask!
Food was ok waitresses needed a few more manners
No power in the shower and took 35mins to run the bath
Friendly welcome, clean, comfortable room, good food
Location, room size
No breakfast before 8.00 considering big running event required early start TV too small. Noisy wedding reception in hotel. Fireworks late at night
Damp smell in room, shower dribbled, lovely view of a wall from bedroom window. Over priced, especially as breakfast not included.
