Staff were excellent
The double bed in room 3 could barely be described as a double
The bedrooms are really clean and comfortable. There used to be a slight issue with noise from the road, but this has now been addressed with new windows. The staff are always friendly, and the food is great.
Room was simple but clean and had everything needed, staff were friendly and attentive, dinner and breakfast were excellent and overall very good value. would happily visit again.
A bit noisy (from road) at night but comfortable bed made up for this.
Staff were very helpful and welcoming. The food was very good and well priced but the bar would benefit from a wider selection of beers
The ambiance music was a covers tape that sounded like failed karaoke singers, but it was worth putting up with that for the benefits
Friendly and proactive positive support from all of the staff on the night if the 6th Nov 2014. My daughter's birthday meal.
The stairs are too steep and difficult to climb.
From arrival to departure, all staff were extremely helpful and friendly. The room (no. 4) was a good size, clean and comfortable, with an excellent en-suite shower. The wifi signal was poor in the room, although downstairs in the restaurant and bar areas it was fine. There was also some traffic noise from the road, which reduced during the night. The meals in the restaurant were good, with excellent service, and the breakfast was also good. As has been pointed out by others, the staircase is quite narrow and steep, but this is quite common in old buildings so was not unexpected.
The staff gave me a warm welcome, served me delicious food and had prepared me a clean and comfortable room to sleep in. I enjoyed my overnight stay!
There was nothing to dislike
Food was very god, ales well kept, excellent service. Sky movies and sport in the room.
Beatifully decorated rooms, friendly staff, food fantastic
quite narrow stairway so slightly more difficult to climb for the more mature resident, but well worth it.
Rooms comfortable and meals very good. Good staff and very helpful.
Only niggle was that there was nowhere to put the suitcase apart rom on the floor.
All the staff were courteous and polite
noise from the road in the front rooms, needs a bit of extra glazing.
The exceptional courtersy of the staff
Outside our bedroom on the front of pub a crowd of women drinking shouting screaming up to 12.30pm any efforts to move were futile, had to threaten police action. Also dog in next room barking!!!! No double glazing room on main road traffic constant no sleep possible
Easy to find with adequate parking, reasonably priced food and friendly staff.
No good if you are a light sleeper as it is on and close to a road which gets busy early in the morning.
Friendly and willing staff
Staff and service in all a very good stay
Staff service was first class.
Television was not working. But not a major concern.
Extremely friendly and helpful staff.
Location a bit out of the way.
The food was excellent Next time I will ask for a "small" full English!
Staff on arrival very friendly, nothing too much trouble.
The curtains in the room needed rehanging as they were coming off the hooks, and also a fan would be a good idea as it was very warm in the room during the night.
Staff were very friendly and organised.
Location adjacent to busy road.Traffic noise was very disturbing.
The evening meal and breakfast was delicious
Noisey traffic in room 2
Good food and friendly staff. Very comfortable bed
Located on the road but we knew that when booking
