Everything, it is our third visit and it never disappoints. The food in particular is outstanding. The staff were very friendly and helpful.
There was a mess up with our meal bill as they had added a number of dishes we didn't have! The member of staff dealt with it very quickly and apologised for the mix-up.
The accomodation The staff The Location The quality wine The Menu
We stayed last year the food was excellent and this year it was good but not as good and that was slightly disappointing because the quality of the food is our priority. I ordered rack of lamb and was given 2 rather fatty cutlets. The starter and Desert were however, up to standard. The breakfast last year was something to write home about and this time we were very disappointed. The coffee was weak and bacon flaccid. The smoked salmon and scrambled egg was just unimaginative and slightly unpalatable, just a pile of each side by side on a plate. We understood that the place had changed hands 2 weeks prior to our stay and hope that this is just a blip because it would be such a shame not to return.
Rooms are beautiful and, if you get one at the front, have gorgeous views over the river & old stone bridge.
Temperature in public rooms was a little chilly at end of Nov. Having stayed 5 times now we are hoping that the new owners/ management maintain the same high standard as their predecessors.
Food, location and warm welcome..we will be back with our whippet to explore area further..
Nothing not to like
Welcoming room, with home made shortbread biscuits and choice of beverages. Excellent toiletries in bathroom. Good quality tv and complimentary newspaper. Dinner very enjoyable, especially 'amuse bouche' and very good breakfast. Friendly and efficient service.
Staff were so welcoming and helpful. Beautiful room and comfy bed. Meal was delicious and a lovely atmosphere in the bar.
Intermittent wi fi connection
Welcome and friendliness of staff General ambience Room very comfortable and good views from window. Advice on wine helpful Food tasty
Main course of dinner tepid. After clearing main course plates waitress forgot us. I had to ask for a pudding menu after half an hour's wait. I then had to ask for someone to take our pudding order after another fifteen minutes.
Beautiful setting and very personal friendly staff. Gave us a bottle of champagne on the house when they heard we had got engaged. Excellent food too.
The fact it was only for one night!
everything, fantastic location, great room (Royal Wulff) lovely staff and great food/drink. Breakfast a real treat. great walks locally and beautiful riverside strolls
Having to leave!
Quiet location, good breakfast
Very hard mattress, £140 per night- definitely not value for money. We stayed in the Blue Done, nice room but the comfort of the bed was a let down, very cheap quality matress, very diss appointing nights sleep!
Comfort friendliness,service,food and location.
Liked it all
Great bedrooms, warm welcome, excellent restaurant with good wine list, peaceful location
Nothing at all!
Very helpful, pleasant staff. Well prepared, locally sourced food. Beautiful vista, views and walks. Generally quiet. Vegetable and herb garden, orchard. Animal friendly.
One evening's peace was disrupted from 1.00 am by a thoughtless guest. This was very well dealt with by the Duty Manager.
Beautiful accommodation, scenic location, excellent food very welcoming staff.
Heard a staff member being told off.
Everything. Room was spectacular, dinner and breakfast were outstanding, setting was beautiful.
Peace and quiet Great food Pleasant staff Beautiful surroundings Spacious accomodation Comfortable sleep
Good size bedroom and bathroom and delicious food.
Bed was rather squeaky.
Everything was A1 other than my steak
Steak I had was very tough, and had a few complaints already, stated they were going to source another supplier
We love the serenity of the Inn, but it was way out in the country side. We had a hard time finding it with google map. Other than that, we loved it. Would come again if we are in the area.
Well regarded pub restaurant with rooms in a lovely part of mid- Wales. Decent sized bedrooms with proper bathrooms. Bar and restaurant are both pleasant places to spend some time. Long wine list if you afford it. Friendly staff.
Have stayed at the Bell some time ago and wanted to go back but we both felt it had lost a bit of magic dust. Nothing in particular to complain about - it just felt a bit ordinary and lacked focus. Menu was OK but could have done with a bit more choice. Wine expensive if you go past the first 6 bottles on the list. Breakfast was OK but nothing special. Not much to do there other than walk about.
The staff were helpful. Food at dinner and breakfast was excellent. Right next to castle ruins. Great area for walks.
The location and grounds were exceptional.
The bed creaked each time you moved, but otherwise I had a very enjoyable stay and will be returning in the near future.
Location Food excellent
Food delicious and staff very friendly and welcoming. Dinner menu was excellent along with a great choice for breakfast. Beautiful setting close to the river, castle and country walks. Great weather so was able to enjoy drinks in the garden. Delightful room with thoughtful extras, cafetiere coffee, hand baked biscuits and view over the river. Look forward to returning.
