Town centre location
The comfy bed
The "spa" was a dated 70s old building that was not worth the effort. Get changed in your room as the changing rooms are awful. The steam room was ok. Don't book if you expect to have a decent spa
Good location, friendly, clean, comfortable.
Evening meal. Chicken and veg were under cooked.
Food was good if over plentiful
Parking is limited with result my car was scratched overnight
The room was a superb character one. OK like all old buildings it had a few things that were not as convenient as a purpose built hotel but we loved it.
There was a club or something which had noisy rabble early on Saturday night / Sunday morning. This should not really be allowed but this is a failing of Driffield club licensing authorities who should sort it out as it is really bad for the town's image.
Friendly, helpful staff Good food at reasonable prices Good base for exploring the East Riding.
Comfortable room Friendly helpful staff
Small car parking area
Everything, but most of all the warmth of the staff. Made me feel as though I had been going there forever. A lot of hotels could do worse than take a leaf out of their book. Will be back soon.
Atmospheric decor Comfortable room Fan provided on request as it was exceptionally warm in our room.
Guest information stated 24hr room service but not so. Rang reception at 11.50pm to order a sandwich after a family night out only to be told by the night porter he didn't know how to use the things in the kitchen and he would leave a note for the chef when he came in to make breakfast the next morning! Also we arrived at 1.40pm after a 4 hour journey and asked if we could order some lunch. We were told no the kitchen shut at 1.30. Again the guest info said that soup and sandwiches would be available for guests and that afternoon tea was available from 2.30. We were not told about this. We have stayed in many hotels throughout the country and this was by far the poorest value for money. We did think as guests food may have been available for us to order when we checked in. I feel the price reflected the spa and leisure facilities none of which we used. We were very disappointed and would try to book into manor court in carnaby where we have stayed many times before and was cheaper.
Friendly staff, location, spa, when dessert returned no quibble about charging.
Staff smoking under window last at night and first thing am, VERY noisy pub on street all night. spiral stair case in room, VERY soft mattress, dated decor and food poor.
staff were very accommodating and friendly. Loved all the antiques. room was quiet 200 plus malt whiskeys on offer Onsite parking, but very tight spaces
spa could be cleaner and pool water was due a change/clean Chicken salad on menu in evening came as a boiled piece of dried up chicken on a bed of green leaves with no dressing or anything else added- was revolting
The ambience of the hotel and character
A hotel which is as a Hotel should be, friendly and helpful staff, very good rooms, excellent amenities, very good food in the Restaurant, ample breakfast and very centrally placed in Driffield. A very good stopping point for day-tours.
That we only stayed one night !
Staff were helpful and polite. Parking was difficult only small car park. The spa facilities were dated but did the job.
