Fire alarm going off at 9.00 am fortunately I was about to leave so I took my luggage with me I left by the rear fire exit. I went to the prescribed assembly point in the rear car park. Nobody else appeared and no role call was taken after 5 min I went back to the hotel to hand my keys in but all the doors were locked so I posted them through the letterbox This was clearly in breach of H&S Regulations and I did wonder as I was leaving if this was there way of removing guests from the premises?
excellent continental breakfast facilities, you name it - they had it, all contained within the fridge! Decent room, good view, pleasant staff. Restaurant/bar food very very tasty, well stocked bar.
Our room was located above the bar area, consequently sleep was impossible till the music stopped plus 30 mins for last customers to disappear, this was 1.30 a.m. Bit unexpected for a Thursday evening, a warning prior to booking would have been nice.
Location and size of room, good vegetarian food, nice bar.
On the whole this didn't match up to my visit in July. The bed was a bit smelly and the shower control was broken (no cold) which was dangerous. The WiFi provider has been changed and the new service is so poor I couldn't access my email never mind stream media .
A lovely pub with comfortable, if spartan rooms.
We had no idea there was to be a Halloween Party with a very loud band and disco until 2am. The local kids were swearing and smoking right outside our window. Not a good night.
Superb self-contained suite, with kitchen, bedroom, bathroom, and hallway. Full continental breakfast in room, good quality WiFi, and TV's in both lounge space and bedroom. Very quiet room, with plenty of space. Bar food was good, (a varied menu) and great local ales. I enjoyed it!
Very friendly and helpful staff. Evening meal was excellent, although the waiting time was rather long (half an hour).
They play loud music until very late at weekends - so loud that it was quite intrusive. Shower didn't work at all at first, and even after that was sorted, I discovered there were holes at the top sprouting water over the glass door and soaking the bathroom floor. There is a 'kitchen' area with a fridge, a toaster, and a kettle in the bedroom. The 'breakfast' is sent there the previous night, but there was no serviettes or kitchen towels, and I had to mop up spilled orange juice with loo paper. The room was not cleaned on the first night (which I didn't particularly mind, but was surprised), which meant that the dirty crockery from the breakfast was still left on the 'kitchen' counter when I went back in the evening, and I had to ask the staff to bring next day's breakfast. Also there was only instant coffee sachets for breakfast. It would have been nice to have some fresh ground coffee. This is basically a pub with bedrooms upstairs. When I went downstairs to check out in the morning, there was no one to be seen anywhere. Good thing I sorted everything I needed to sort out the night before!
Everything and I am hard to please and normally stay in 4* accommodation. Staff/Room 10/10. Perfect for me and the breakfast in room had more than one would ever require, from fruit to toast. I will be back!
Passage way to bedroom, but I didn't sleep in the corridor, so it didn't matter.
Location of pub. Food & drinks - quality & price.
Serve yourself in the room breakfast. No staff on site overnight. Overstates it is luxury accommodation - fairly basic in reality.
Staff, food, real ale all really good. Room also good standard
Green "fire safety" light nearly above the bed. Whilst realising there must be a legal or insurance need for this,,I could not sleep bathed in a green light. I really need a dark room. Everything else with room and stay way above average
The food was very good
No one there to pay the bill to and get breakfast in the morning
We loved the location and views from the windows over the village green. The staff were very efficient and friendly. The room (which had a sitting room as well) was clean and comfortable. An ample and fresh continental breakfast was provided in the kitchen area of the sitting room. The pub restaurant serves good home-cooked food at reasonable prices. We will definitely stay again.
The entrance off the dining area to the guest accommodation is spoilt by the rather grubby doors and cramped hallway. The Bell is a Public House as well as a B & B so there is noise from the bar until closing time.
Amazing Location. Traditional, gorgeous pub in fantastic building. Great Value for money and friendly staff.
Continental in-room breakfast was ok but a full breakfast would have mad an overnight stay perfect.
The location was fantastic especially for visiting the Cotswold villages. The room was large, comfortable & clean & great value for money. The pub & dining room were great too.
The bed was a bit firm but we would stay here again.
Nothing at all, did not have a chance to stay due to room being double booked. Luckilly the duty manager was excellant at finding us another hotel.
Despite having a booking referance our room was double booked.
Great facilities. Brilliant location next to the village green. Excellent food.
Lovely contemporary room very spacious suite. Excellent generous continental style breakfast in Fridge for morning
Very sadly the vent or extractor fan from the kitchen I think was under my bedroom and I found the noise very loud indeed. I assumed it would stop when the kitchen closed but it seemed to be on all night. I couldn't sleep despite earplugs and so made up a sort of bed elsewhere but got very little sleep.
No butter for breakfast toast
Quietness of the area.
Room far too small for the amount of money paid. We could hardly even move in it and had to stay in there for breakfast as well.
Lots of ciders
Service really slow, had to bail out of evening meal, need more staff.
Lovely village - Clean room - Easy with children as we had a living room area - Easy breakfast in the room (Not the best but basic)
They could be more details on booking.com regarding the meaning of ''breakfast''? as it was just toast and cereals - Breakfast mean for ENGLISH PEOPLE '' full english breakfast '') You must paid extra ... for the price of the room for the area - it should be included!
Not just a bedroom and bathroom but a beautiful apartment with a comfy lounge and kitchen area.
Scenery was good food was good
Apartment style room was nice and large.
Breakfast was poor
good continental breakfast, and facilitys in room are very good.
Friendly, efficient and helpful staff; clean and comfortable; excellent food, beers and wines.
A bit noisy in the Fretherne room as it is directly over the bar but the noise stopped at 11:00pm and it won't put me off from staying here again.
