Close to the A34 but far away enough so you can't hear it The Bell has got the gastropub formula spot on. Friendly, professional staff. Accommodation that both sexes can feel at home in. And a bar and restaurant that you can happily wile away time in whether you're reading the paper over a coffee or celebrating with family and friends. We'll definitely be going back.
Service was excellent throughout. Food was much better than last visit. Could not fault the stay
Luxurious, classy and stylish, with real character. Great first class menu with wood-burning flatbed oven, but also with early evening two-course set meal for £10. I spend a lot of times in hotels and have rarely enjoyed a better experience than this.
Wifi very poor and intermittent signal.
Room was very big and well furnished it was nice to have a walk in shower instead of one over the bath. The staff were very friendly and nothing was too much trouble. The room was hot during the night but there were plenty of windows to open for fresh air, it was an unusually hot day, just wondered if would be possible to fit an air con unit?
Everything was perfect staff food, comfort and decor
Wifi not good in all areas of our room
Location. Staff . Room . Breakfast
It was a total joy!
Poor WiFi service.
We loved the furnishings, decor, friendly and helpful staff and excellent food. Maddie-- Preston UK
The staff were hard working, at times extremely busy but always efficient, attentive and cheerful. Our room was spacious and comfortable. The food and wine are excellent and we would recommend The Bell to friends and colleagues. We loved it and will return.
No phone in the room to call down to reception. The used toiletries and opened bottled water weren't replaced. It isn't cheap so this seems a bit penny pinching. Also the popularity of the restaurant, even mid week, means the car park fills up early and stays full till late so we had to leave our car on the grass verge along the road.
Staff were very helpful and welcoming. Good food. Room was very clean and tidy with modern facilities
No wardrobe so no hanging space for clothes other than a couple of coat hooks. Lighting levels in the room were very low. Electrical sockets not positioned adjacent to the mirror
The room was beautiful. The food amazing and the staff attentive and friendly.
Wifi was poor (not a massive issue though)
Staff, food, bedroom, parking. TV, wi-fi.
No telephone in room. Humming noise in room overnight ..not too bad but constant.
In a world of bland groups of hotels, predictable menu's,disinterested staff this is fantastic great find Dinner was possibly one of the best we have had ,we are fortunate to holiday in Dubia Italy London and have dined in top class restaurants this measures upto the best . If we need to make 100 mile detour to stay again we will.
Our room was huge. The bathroom was spacious and newly renovated. The beds were comfortable and although we had our room above the parking spaces of the house it was absolutely quiet during the night and we had an excellent sleep. The restaurant was outstanding as well. I've had the best pork in my life there!
Lovely and warm attitude!
A bit far from Oxford. Only one bus every hour!!
very good breakfast and wifi.
Room 5 has only a window so it is dark and damp. it has a damp smell and makes people feel uncomfortable. there is no room to sit the only choice to sit on the bed. it is far away from the town center only for driving.
Standard of food very high, some unusual choices Walks down a quiet lane to the river and old church
Daily specials were the same every day!! So if you had lunch as well as dinner you were restricted to the main menu which did not change. People smoking under the bed room windows at the front of the pub, which we had to have open due to very hot weather and no aircon!
The location to Bicester village, the room was comfortable, clean and very nicely decorated with some lovely touches to ensure you are well looked after. The food was great and the staff very kind, friendly and attentive (but not invasive).
If we had stayed more than one night I would have considered a larger room and preferably not above the kitchen.
Highly recommend this boutique hotel for its comfort and cleanliness. The food is beautifully prepared and presented, from the eclectic dinner menu to the simple and ample breakfasts.
Room 8 bathroom does need a small table or surface for guests to put their own toiletries on.
The room was large, very large superking size bed. Great large walkin shower. Staff were excellent. Food was sublime!!! A real find.
Lovely building with helpful staff. Nice food off the menu and at breakfast. Liked the drinks making facilities in the room and the fresh milk.
After a rare very hot day the room really needed a fan or better ventilation at night.
Friendly and helpful staff, delicious food. Located in a quiet area.
My room was rather small.
room is too small
We stayed in Room 7 and it was large, but as it was in the eaves had to be careful getting out of bed if over 6' tall. Friendly and helpful staff, and décor up to date. Restaurant excellent with good choice of evening meals. Would definitely stay again and ask for this room.
Friends stayed in Room 5 and this wasn't very large and only a small window, so a bit dark and we stayed on a sunny day!
