The Bell Hotel  

The dinning room , the bar and the beer garden .We were blessed we stayed at the Bell Hotel nice sunny days.

Parking not all that easy.

lovely atmosphere, individual rooms with lovely decor, luxury bedding and towels. Restaurant food was superb. bar staff,especially Tom, were great. breakfast brilliant. if not so far away we would stay again without a doubt. All staff. Dry friendly and helpful.

Location right in the heart of Sandwich

Room was quite small for a double and very hot. Shower cubicle also very small and room was pricey for its size.

A lovely hotel. The staff were very friendly and helpful and the food was really good. It's a great location in the centre of Sandwich - we used it for a long weekend visiting Kent and it was perfect for that.

The room was noisy. There was an alarm going off all weekend which wasn't the hotel's fault but the bars across the road were noisy too. It has no parking - but the public parking was cheap.

the receptionist was very helpful and told us about the deals etc,also about local history etc

Clean efficient staff friendly mainly locals. Service was excellent. We were on a visit to elderly family who live in the area. Fellow guests completely compatible (probably more lively at weekends but I am sure in good taste) A good all purpose Hotel

The staff rating would have been higher had it not been for the receptionist. Nick, on breakfast duty is deserving of recognition for his professionalism and courtesey. He took a real interest and was a pleasure to see in the mornings. We didn't have much interaction with anyone else other than the receptionist.

We had not booked a package and had to cut our stay short for one day for which she wanted to charge us the night due to lack of 24 hours notice. She pointed to the terms and conditions but had failed to read them properly and said charge was only applicable if one had booked and not arrived. The matter of parking needs to be addressed. In the past, the car park by the Stour was reimbursed. Lastly, the hotel smelled very musty upon entering the lobby and the outside stair carpeting needs to be replaced.

Really lovely place to visit. More of a relaxing chilled break away from the fast pace of life and work.

From the moment we stepped into the hotel the staff were warm, friendly and welcoming. The room, although small was adequate and spotless. We booked Bed and Breakfast but after sampling their Jazz evening meal decided to book for another evening and were not dissapointed. We did not find one thing to 'moan' over and will definately be booking again.

Smell permeating throughout hotel was unpleasant cleanliness of room, layers of dust on furniture decor throughout - poor and in poor condition cleanliness and tidiness of common parts Having to check out after one night and before second night because of low quality of experience and, having explained reasons, receiving no offer of reimbursement/discount Having to pay in full on arrival even before seeing room and having to change room for a marginal improvement - we would have checked out immediately if not so cold outside and already paid

Generous sized room. All very clean. Good bed and plenty of bedding. Warm atmosphere. Staff professional and helpful. Good value. Great situation.

There is a net outside the window presumably to stop birds from sitting on the ledges. Unfortunately a bird had got caught and had died there. An alternative deterent to netting would be desirable perhaps the rspca or rspb could advise. Netting unattractive as a window view.

The breakfast was excelent and all staff very friendly and helpful, the location very good. I really enjoyed my walks around the hotel and found a very nice local cinema, the restaurants near by and the hotel restaurant is very good.

The noise coming from next door room late in the evening was very disturbing and did not had anybody coming up to sort out

Room clean and furniture good. Bathroom excellent.

Room too hot and duvet too warm Corridors and carpets a bit tired. Taps in bathroom awkward to use. Room door difficult to lock.

Parking - Limited free parking available, but car park literally found the corner (90p and hour 9am - 6pm, max stay 24 hours) Noise - Found that our room faced the road and several pubs, which were quite noisy. If you can ask for a room that faces away from the main road!

Only 7 parking spaces (we were lucky in having one) Not receiving our 8 am early call , but the restaurant did stay open late to serve are breakfast .

Light spacious and friendly night porter

No lift/ slippery staircase.

It was just a lovely to be treated so well by all the staff.

Being woken up at 6.30 a.m. by loud music from room above. But was dealt with promptly by reception.(Night porter)

Bigish I like a bit of space The Hotel lobby entrance area is comfy and I did get good service in that area to have a very nice club sandwich. Breakfast at 7am came up well and service very friendly. The Hotel reminds me of railway hotels in the 50s Warm and comfy Room shower and etc good quality. It all needs constant renovation. Hotels, above all, should be spick and span, but it is a costly business. All the fitted carpet in the Bell is of good quality, but needs to be much better attended to. Likewise, tiling grouting needs to be attended to and so on. But I enjoyed my stay very much, had a good break-away.
