The location is good near to the river and to the shops. The room was clean and had most of necessities you would need. Tea & coffee provided, flat screen tv & large bathroom. The staff were friendly and the breakfast was excellent. The bed and pillows were also clean & comfortable The room though clean was very basic, a bit budgetish. With just a few adjustments the room could look welcoming, instead it looked stark. Although there was a blind there were no curtains, the room had no pictures or bed or chairs cushions nothing ornamental at all. This could easily be fixed. Also the stair carpet needs to be replaced. Once you leave the bistro bar area to go to you room you are faced with a stairwell which unfortunately did smell unpleasant and the carpet was grim, This as a first impression on the way to the rooms is unpleasant. Fortunatley the room itself was clean. The Bellstone has a lot going for it it just needs the odd improvement.

We found this hotel really comfortable and the friendly staff couldn't do enough. The only issue was a lack of soap in the bathroom and limited milk for drinks in the room (biscuits would have been nice too). However the hotel has a relaxed bar and bistro area and breakfast was pleasant too. We didn't mind the noise at night which you expect in a city. Great stay, thankyou!!! Milk & soap.....and a bit of toast to accomany breakfast would be lovely!!!! That's all folks!!!

A member of staff barged into our room at 11.15 pm in the evening and frightened the living daylights out of me - my husband was asleep! The next morning I asked what this was all about and he mumbled something about an alarm had warned him there wasn't supposed to be anybody in the room we were staying in, I told him that perhaps he ought to knock before barging into a room in future!!!!

Good location for town, dining out and pubs etc. A little style over substance, so many things could have been done much better in terms of service and finishes in the rooms. It would of helped if we had not been locked out as the door code did not work when we returned after a meal out with our friends. Car parking is an issue generally in Shrewsbury, the long stay is about 10 mins away and we had to get up on Sunday morning at 8am to feed the meter!

I visit Shrewsbury on business occasionally and I have looked at The Belstone before but found the price prohibative. On this occasion I came across the availability on 'booking.com.' And the rate was very good. The location, accomodation and service was ideal. A very pleasant and stress free stay. Thank You

Very friendly & helpful staff. There was a lot of noise from the street until the early hours. Although to be fair to the hotel we were there over the weekend, and it was August so had our windows open.

The hotel was very nice and very clean. Staff were nice too. Lovely small/boutique style hotel. Lovely brasserie and good food. Although breakfast could take a little long to appear, but when it did the food was good. Hotel in a very good position, especially if travelling by train or bus. We had a lovely time there. Only that breakfast sometimes could be a little slow.

staff and breakfast hotel far too noisy: understand that as listed building can't change windows, but noise from clubbers on streets outside into early hours spoilt hotel I would have to let people know ,if recommending, about the noise.

Freindly, helpful service. Quick to add a z-bed when we turned up with our son. Breakfast in hotel brasserie was good and delivered swiftly. Public car park was just across the road. Good for what it is: a clean, friendly central base for exploring Shrewsbury and Shropshire No view or facilities other than restaurant, but then they never promised this.
