Very clean. Great views. Friendly owners. Great location. Good value. Lovely room with four poster bed. Private parking. Tasty breakfast.
Everything. Lovely staff. Great room. Excellent food. I can't recommend it too highly.
Lack of power points by bed but this seems to be very common in hotels.
We had the top room looking out you could see the ocean. It was so lovely we got engaged there!
We really enjoyed the entire stay. We were warmly welcomed and made to feel comfortable from the start. The breakfast was absolutely amazing!
Interaction with Staff General comfort No children
Difficult to say, time of stay meant all facilities not accessible. Personally would prefer standard sauna rather than infrared box, and covered heated pool would be nice.
It was a really friendly place. Location was superb, close to the village, sea front and Shanklin Theatre. Plenty to do, lots of places to eat, ideal for a healthy break.
Not a lot! You do need to be a little fit to negotiate steps, but if you are in need of a little excercise ..... perfect.
Quiet location, easy walk to the restaurants in Shanklin old town and down to the beach. Good starting point for coastal walks. Excellent friendly and always helpful staff. Spotless room. Excellent breakfast with many choices.
Nothing really, could not fault the Belmont
The friendliness of the staff, food,, The warm athmosphere,
It wasn't clean enough, The toilette had'nt water enough
room too small, just a little tired
Friendly, helpful staff. Superb breakfasts. Lovely touches such as free coffee, tea and home made cake in the afternoon. comfortable small bar and sitting on the veranda. Great situation. Adults only
I can honestly say that there wasn't anything to dislike.
We enjoyed our stay very much would book agan.
Everything. The whole experience was outstanding from the moment we got there until we left.
Belmont is well situated and owners do their utmost to make your stay a pleasure. Excellent breakfasts, we ate out in evenings, plenty of local pubs with good food menus.
Belmont is in need of some modernisation, our room was clean and tidy but very small, and plumbing needs to be sorted, hot shower not possible, cold only!!
Family run friendly hotel who were professional experienced hoteliers. Good attention to detail eg coffee /tea available in lounge all day; evening bar meals freshly cooked to order; very comfortable chairs on spacious verandah encouraged guests to feel welcomed and convivial. Quiet but very convenient location. An ideal place. Very good value for money and we would definitely stay again.
Nothing to dislike.
A very comfortable hotel. The proprietors are very helpful and friendly. The quality of the breakfast is first class and includes fresh fruit salad, yogurts, pastries and all kinds of bread. The cooked breakfast is made to order and suitable for all diets including gluten-free and vegetarian. Coffee, tea and biscuits are provided in the bedrooms and the lounge which is nice when you come back to the hotel in the afternoons. There is free wi-fi in the bedrooms.
As other reviewers have pointed out, Some of the decor was dated but no more than most hotels of that era and it didn't detract from my enjoyment of the holiday. My bedroom didn't have a safe which meant I either had to leave my valuables with my friend or lock them in my case. If you were staying for more than a few days, a mini-bar in the room would be very welcome
There is nothing to add to Perfection. We had a fabulous Holliday And we have already booked for next year. Thanks to all at the Belmont.
There was nothing to dislike
Close to old Shanklin, town and sea. Friendly staff and good old fashioned comfort.
2 nights of amazing sleep in the luxury four poster bed room! The bed was a godsend, best sleep I've had in awhile! The decor was nice, not too old but a little quirky which I liked.
it was a lovely hotel, Des and Linda excellent hosts, my friend Ann on the first night was rushed into hospital with appendicitis and stayed until our departure, but I was given so much support from Des and Linda and guests it made what was so unfortunate more able to cope with. We will definitely be going back there.
Friendly staff and good choice at breakfast
Requested good quality shower but was disappointed as shower rail hanging off wall and water dribbled out plus temperature of water low and not very hot
- Off Street Parking - Bar - Clean - Friendly Staff - Good breakfast - Location
- Small bathroom - Single room key - Room smelt of too much bleach
Friendly hotel with convenience to main attractions. Good breakfast provided with friendly service.
The standard of my room was not 4*. The decor was in need of updating and the carpet very worn
Tea and coffee facilities in room Sea View glimpse Toiletries provided Freshly decorated breakfast room Pleasant Lounge Area A good selection of breakfast choices
Stale odour in hallway leading to bedroom Long brown hairs on top of duvet cover when bedspread was removed Hairs on floor in bathroom around shower tray Torn carpet leading from bedroom into bathroom which was dangerous Evening meal of cannelloni was obviously out of a packet and warmed up with frozen packet chips and at £9.75 was overpriced and very stodgy. Pillows were old and too firm and need replacing. Walls paper thin -woken each morning at 6 a.m. by room next door using hair dryer. The oil in which the english breakfast was cooked had an unpleasant taste
