Few hotels in Devon can offer the charm and character that you will find at Sidmouth Harbour Hotel - The Westcliff.
Score from 175 reviews Very good
In 5 acres of landscaped gardens, this hotel has magnificent views over Sidmouth and the coastline. It offers award-winning food, free parking, and has a lift that accesses every floor.
Score from 132 reviews Superb
The Mason Arms is located on Devon’s Jurassic Coast, just a 10-minute walk from Branscombe Beach. This 14th-century hotel offers an award-winning restaurant, locally brewed ales and free parking.

Just over 1 mile from the centre of Sidmouth and the beach, Combe Bank Guest House has an award-winning garden, an exciting breakfast menu and frees Wi-Fi throughout.
Score from 82 reviews Fabulous
Everything, including being served breakfast! Friendliness, comfort , garden, public rooms, food, all faultless.
No breakfast before 8AM, inflexible/unhelpful management, jacket/tie requirement for dinner, no safe in room.
The hotel was well located to explore Sidmouth on foot. We booked at short notice but there was no penalty if we cancelled up to the day before our arrival. The facilities were good
The bedroom was very hot at night: too much for the fan provided, though the weather was hot and therefore little which could be done. The staff lacked the polish which we enjoyed at the Royal Duchy about a month before.
Location. Nice firm bed. Nice and clean. Most toiletries provided. Tea/ coffe in room.
Room a bit cramped. Plug for kettle the other side of room. No toothpaste with the toiletries. Do think breakfast could be included in the price of the room.
We thought The Belmont was a lovely hotel. It was not cheap but we had a beautiful room which on the side of the hotel was very quiet and we could still see the sea. The location on The Esplanade was perfect. We would definitely stay at The Belmont when we next visit Sidmouth.
Breakfast was very expensive if you are booked on a 'room only' basis, similar to London prices which we thought was a little excessive with no option for only a Continental Breakfast.
Dusty cabinets and lumpy bed, expensive meal choices.
The location is perfect for enjoying Sidmouth. Very easy to walk along the front and enjoy the beaches, shops, restaurants. The hotel was very clean and the staff were very welcoming, friendly and helpful.
This hotel is definitely aimed at the more mature customer. It has the ambience of retired gentility. Not very keen on the system of having the same table at breakfast that you had at dinner the night before. If you hadn't been there for dinner you were treated with surprise at breakfast. Also there was the saving of parking spaces in the car park through the use of cones. Rather amusing to watch but perhaps should be discouraged.
Nice staff. Very well maintained building; clearly plenty of money is spent to keep the building looking really good. Position.
The food was good but not as good as in the past, and quite expensive.
Location wonderful, garden, parking, all lovely on a sunny day
Room not great for cost, never once did anyone apologise when errors were made (and there were quite a lot) which is poor. Staff robotic, no empathy.
Service in the dining room was excellent particularly Sunday lunch when our party of 12 included four children who where well looked after
Service in the lounge and on the patio was not as fast as it should have been.
The room was pleasant and the view was superb. The room was always serviced early in the day. The menu was varied and the food was a very high standard. The floral decorations were very artistic.
I can.'t think of anything that was sub-standard
Old fashioned. Tired Poor dinning room
The whole experience was one of quality. The food was excellent, the service attentive, friendly but unobtrusive and the accommodation superb.
old fashioned good servicenothing
The fact there was no airconditioning
Location was perfect. The receptionist was kind enough to let us keep our car in the car park for a couple of hours after check out.
Facilities (pool, table tennis, Fussball, etc.) were in fact not part of the Belmont, but of the neighboring Victoria hotel. They were situated in a shed behind the hotel which stank! We decided to play one game of pool (for 50p), since the receptionist had been kind enough to open the place up for us, and then left. What a letdown.
Rooms well equiped an very clean .
Slow flow shower
Staff friendly, helpfull and gave very good service.
Everything about this hotel
Very helpful and friendly staff and excellent breakfast
Classy and classic place. Loved the idea of jacket for dinner - which I borrowed from the hotel with no problem.
Dinner was a bit pricey... But never mind Food was delicious
Food was very good
Bathroom needs updating
The staff and food were excellent, could not fault it.
We had to change rooms as it was like a fridge which with the weather was not great, but they moved us to better room but the bed was awful as it was two beds zipped together as a double came apart all through the night so not very restfull.
